Our Farmstead is deeply forested up at 2,620' with the Blue Ridge Mountains region of SW Virginia. The sloped 10.6 acres of topography has a beautiful year-round stream - which junctions into the larger Snake Creek - farm animals include: sheep, pigs & piglets, chickens, quail, rabbit, duck, geese, guinea fowl, and growing more at every opportunity. Our fresh crop of vegetables, medicinal, and culinary herbs are in the ground every spring and taste wonderful at every harvest. We’ve focused on stewardship of the land, farmsteading towards a lower impact and permaculture designed lifestyle, and creating beautiful memories here in the SW Virginia Appalachians with our family and growing friendships. We’d love to have you stop by, enjoy nature for solace or work, and if you’d like, get your hands in on the projects!

We are a family/veteran-owned small farm offering primitive creek-side and open field camping that's perfect for motorcyclists, car campers, and tourists traveling on an adventure. We are located along the historic Crooked Road Music Trail and right off the Blue Ridge Parkway at mile marker 159.3. Also, on the property we have a store with essential camping needs, local products, artisan items, coffee, and souvenirs. During the summer we offer a "YouPick" flower experience in our crop field (come get a container and pick your own bouquet of flowers) and special/tourism events. Peak season for flowers is from July to September. We would love for you to camp and give us feedback as we are constantly improving things. Our newest amenity is a 1 mile hiking trail that starts at the campground and takes you through the woods to the top of our property. Come ride, camp, and explore the area!

Country Meadows

1 site · RV4 acres · Meadows Of Dan, VA
Located less than a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway, this little hayfield is nestled just a skip away from Mabry Mill (the most photographed spot on the parkway), Villa Appalachia (quant Italian style winery), Chateau Morrisette (larger tourist winery), Nancy's Fudge (a little candy factory and shop), and hiking trails of varying lengths with epic views (Black Ridge Trail and Rock Castle Gorge Trail).  Each of these are under 5 miles from our camp spot.  Yet, if you are also hoping to hop out of your camper and WALK somewhere, there is a hike that leads you directly up to Chateau Morissette. The property itself is a hayfield that typically has a couple of cuttings each summer.  There just happens to be a full hook up campsite located at the edge of the property that someone should be enjoying.  The property owner (my dad, who is in his mid 70s and doesn't internet so well) lives in a log home that is across the field on the adjacent property.   He is probably going to stop by to say hi.  He is a pretty friendly guy.Learn more about this land:Set atop a hillside overlooking a hayfield, this camper/motor home spot includes internet, 50 AMP, water & sewer hookups. The location offers a covered pull thru carport style parking space as well as a porch swing and pergola with a picnic table.

Why be Square?! Blue Ridge Yurt

2 sites · Lodging2 acres · Pilot, VA
Blue Ridge Yurts is a woman-owned company in Floyd, Virginia, started by my mother, Sharon. We were staying at Treebones, a yurt 'glampground' in Big Sur, California, and fell in love with yurts together. My mom said, "I think I could build one of these," and the company was born! She does all the woodworking, using sustainable practices, with locally-sourced wood, and her best friend Kathy does the fabric end of things. I was one of her early guinea pigs, and love my yurt property dearly <3 This 24' yurt sits on a beautiful private acreage off an end-state maintenance road, with biking and hiking trails just a 20 minute drive from the touristy town of Floyd, Virginia. There's a steam shower sauna, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a deck overlooking the mountains with a table and seating. Enjoy!
