The Oasis at Harmon Creek Farms

13 sites · RVs, Tents150 acres · Yadkinville, NC
Update: Our new BATHHOUSE now has a functioning flush toilet and Sink!!🛖 Pictures are coming soon, but it will also house a shower (with hot water!) and a dressing area, and is centrally located in front of the office at the pond. We're doing this to prove WE LOVE OUR CAMPERS! ❤ FULL HOOK UPS AND MORE!!!! We are now also offering our full hookup site with arbor on the pond that includes: breakfast (eggs, sausage/bacon), lunch (hamburgers, fresh garden veggies), 2 bundles firewood, farm tour for 2, fire pit, and grill. All for only $65. per night. Message for booking details, as this is not yet available through Hipcamp. In addition, two new nicely wooded sites with pond view are now available to provide easy access even during periods of heavy rain. If the creek area floods, we will move your reservation there. :)🏕 Pitch your tent, van or popup on or near the bank of our creek or pond with lots of shade and complete privacy. You can drive right up to most sites, weather permitting. You will have access to a fire ring and picnic table (located at each site), firewood for sale on site (please do not bring firewood from off-site), clean drinking water (located near the pond), the creek to explore, our pond to fish, and wooded trails to hike. Once roamed by Native Americans and now farmed by the same family for over 6 generations, Harmon Creek Farm is a working farm of over 150+ acres. Peace, quiet, tranquility and privacy are overflowing along the creek, and hiking throughout the hills on the backside of the farm (and on the other side of the creek) leads to interesting and abundant flora and fauna. The stocked, spring fed pond is 'brimming" with angler challenges🎣 Our cows, pigs, sheep, donkeys, chickens, ducks, quail, and geese are all eager to meet you, as are we! We currently have fresh eggs, pork and beef for sale on site as well as cured and smoked bacon. We also have fresh organically raised vegetables and herbs in season (currently kohlrabi, asparagus, romaine, cabbage, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, rosemary, chives, and more! Like us on Facebook (Harmon Creek Farms of NC) for the latest on what's going on here at the farm. :)

Our Farmstead is deeply forested up at 2,620' with the Blue Ridge Mountains region of SW Virginia. The sloped 10.6 acres of topography has a beautiful year-round stream - which junctions into the larger Snake Creek - farm animals include: sheep, pigs & piglets, chickens, quail, rabbit, duck, geese, guinea fowl, and growing more at every opportunity. Our fresh crop of vegetables, medicinal, and culinary herbs are in the ground every spring and taste wonderful at every harvest. We’ve focused on stewardship of the land, farmsteading towards a lower impact and permaculture designed lifestyle, and creating beautiful memories here in the SW Virginia Appalachians with our family and growing friendships. We’d love to have you stop by, enjoy nature for solace or work, and if you’d like, get your hands in on the projects!

Creekside Camping Hideaway

3 sites · Tents77 acres · Dugspur, VA
My great-grandparents, Lessie and Noah Smith, purchased the farm from her great grandfather, James Addison's estate in 1928 and raised all of their children on the farm, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lessie and Noah farmed every piece of the property with love, determination, and the help from friends and family. I still hear stories today from family about priming tobacco, picking cotton, and coming back home for corn shuckin'sFeeling fortunate to grow up right beside the home place, I spent all of my childhood years roaming across the pastures, playing in the pond, and disappearing for hours riding horses across the fields. Lucky to purchase the home in 2003, I have been exceptionally blessed to be able to raise my children where my family has lived for over 200 years. We are always trying to look for ways to bring community together to enjoy our family farm. The Farm Store Loft allows us a special way to let visitors into a world that we so enjoy.Learn more about this land:Quiet and secluded is what we love about Camp at Lindsey Mill.  Being able to feel completely disconnected without having to pack in for miles is what folks love about this spot.  Smith Creek effortlessly gives background music to the perfect vacation spot for either a couple's romantic retreat or a family's gathering.   Given the perfect location and the included amenities of a HOT outdoor shower (in season), sink area and even an enclosed sleeping or gear area makes the Camp at Lindsey Mill a sought after spot !!  Have a larger group where you might want to disperse??  Sure-  these mountains are perfect for exploring and boon docking where ever you might land !  Folklore has said that this little oasis was, at one time, a tiny little town-Ocala, with a Grist Mill, Post Office, Mercantile, Black Smith shop and even a few houses. Remnants of these can be found as you explore the 70+ acres of isolated mountains and creeks. As you turn left off of the Wild Cat Trail foot bridge you will take short (0.2 mile) hike up the hill to the designated camp site. This site is situated beside Smith Creek that is perfect to play in or just listen to as you contemplate your day. There is a fire pit with seasoned and dry wood for your use as well as a cowboy cook set for you to use if you so desire.Above the camp site approximately another 1/10th of a mile is our natural spring site where the water comes straight out of the mountain !! We have piped it out for your ease of use all the way down to camp. (We do ask that you are careful when you place your water vessel at the pipe to get water as to not dislodge the pipe).  You can also use the water that we have piped down from the upper spring for washing or drinking.  The site is close enough to the road for you to get your geer and belongings without being exhausted, but far enough off (especially during the spring and summer) to never see a car on the road. There are miles of old logging trails that have been cleared as well as an old road, Wild Cat Trail, that was once used as the main road from Dugspur to Hillsville.Wanting to go out and about during your stay?  Perfect location.  Dugspur is only 12 miles from Hillsville (grocery stores) and a few restaurants, 26 miles from Galax (good restaurants, antique shops, and the New River Trail, which is perfect for hiking and biking), and 23 miles to Floyd, Va (restaurants, a GREAT general store, and cool sights).
