William Cornelius Vineyard is a 50-acre private working vineyard and farm that includes 6 acres of Vineyard, 15 acres of corn/soybean fields, and 15 acres of forest. Two vintage tobacco barns add rustic charm to the site. A lovely stream flows down cascading rock shelves along one side of the property, and a small pond is located on the other side. You will have the farm to yourself.
There is only one RV site on the property and no other residents, except for the deer and occasional turkey, racoon, squirrels, and birds. From your RV and site you will have an unobstructed view over the vineyard of the sunset and western range of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The Vineyard includes Viognier, Merlot, and Chambourcin grapes. Stony Knoll Winery nearby manages the vineyard and uses the grapes in production of their award-winning varietals. The Viognier won the 2023 Best of Show and Double Gold for the NC Fine Wines Show. Stony Knoll’s Rose, made from our Chambourcin, won the 2022 NC Best Rose.
There are three wineries within a couple of miles, and 20 more wineries within a 30-minute drive. There are 3 must-see / hike state parks within a 40 minute drive: Pilot Mountain, Hanging Rock, and Stone Mountain. The charming town of Mt. Airy (Mayberry RFD from the Andy Griffith Show) and Elkin are within a 20 minute drive. The Yadkin River is only a few miles to the south at the quaint village of Rockford, and is popular for kayaking/tubing, fishing, and swimming. There is a tubing/kayak outfitter located there, along with an old general store with old-time candies, sodas, and a simple grill.

Absolutely beautiful rolling hills and long range mountain views. Sunrises and sunsets were picture perfect. The hosts were very nice and the site was well maintained. We enjoyed Grayson Highlands nearby and the morning walk around the property to the ruins and pine forest. What a gem close to downtown Sparta and other awesome attractions. Had a nice dinner after a long hike at Red Dog restaurant about 8 minutes away from camp site.

We cannot believe our incredible good luck to have found this place. Christine and Ken cover everything - with so many thoughtful touches in every area to make our stay over the top. There is ample space for multiple tents with flat sandy/dirt as the base and boat-ramp access to the river. The large open kitchen area is beautiful and would hold many if it were raining. Our group was there for an annual get-together, and we’ve decided not to explore other locations or venues, looking forward to returning.

Great site! The view is spectacular, especially watching the sun rise in the morning and the shadows crossing the valley in the evening. The weather was nice so we left the rain fly off our tent. It was so nice being able to see so many stars with no light pollution. I had also forgotten what silence sounded like...I haven't slept this good in a while! There is a huge fire pit and wood available close by for purchase on Venmo. We were originally planning on setting up camp and then driving to find a hiking spot but we just ended up hiking the property, then coming back to our chairs and that spectacular view! We are local and came in for a quick one night stay to test out some new boondocking equipment and to see if the site would be good for the trailer we are purchasing next year. After climbing the road, I now see why they limit trailers to 20 ft. While we won't be bringing our trailer up here, we'll definitely be back in the tent!

Sparta, NC's best kept secret for RV'rs. You can stop in downtown for coffee/chocolate chip muffins or gourmet pizza slices then head on out from downtown Sparta for ten minutes to arrive hilltop to a premier location with full hookups, beautiful views, fire pits, and picnic tables. Check out some of the photos I've provided. It is unbelievably quiet and serene while you can watch the clouds breeze by. This is a minimum two night stay location but trust me, you need that much time to fully appreciate and recharge to face day to day life back home. Make your stay as soon as possible, you won't regret it.

This was our second time staying on Rachel’s land, and it was just as amazing as the first. The views are absolutely unbeatable — waking up to the mountains wrapped in morning fog and ending the day by the campfire with a wide open sky is something special. The site is peaceful, private, and well cared for, making it easy to relax and enjoy nature. Rachel is a thoughtful host and makes the experience smooth from start to finish. 1 night at The Human Spirit
What stands out is the view! The site was well maintained and secluded. On the drive to site on the dirt road, 4 large dogs followed us for a long stretch. They were not afraid to walk in front of our truck, while the others stayed close to the sides. I was concerned I would hit them. But it just added to the adventurous drive to the top. Also, make sure to push in the lock after you add the code. If you pull it, it will not open.

Absolutely private with a beautiful view, you definitely don’t have to worry about seeing other people or buildings or roads. If you want to get away for a weekend, it was beautiful. The drive up the mountain was a little more challenging than we were expecting. We have a F250 which generally would’ve had no problem, but because we had a camper on top, it was weighing it down a bit.

This was a perfect start to a North Carolina road trip, just me and my dog. Peaceful and remote with amazing views. Explored the trails, had a campfire, hung a hammock, and just enjoyed nature. We got up early and watch the sun rise over the mountains. It was perfect. The listing recommends a high clearance vehicle and I agree with that.
