Each site has full hook ups. No tents are allowed due to lack of toilet facilities.
Area grocery stores are located about 30 minutes away in Wytheville, Pulaski and Hillsville.

There is a safari tent at the far end of this property as a different listing. This land has three hookups for a small trailer, car, truck, van or tent. Car camping is allowed and appreciated. each hookup has power, water, a camp charcoal grill, picnic table, and that running water right beside each site. There is a small bathhouse with a conventional toilet, and an outside shower with hot water at the gated entrance of the property. Each site is located right by the water for easy fishing access, in this trout stocked water. In the winter months, if it is below freezing temps, there may not be running water. Located less than a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway, this little hayfield is nestled just a skip away from Mabry Mill (the most photographed spot on the parkway), Villa Appalachia (quant Italian style winery), Chateau Morrisette (larger tourist winery), Nancy's Fudge (a little candy factory and shop), and hiking trails of varying lengths with epic views (Black Ridge Trail and Rock Castle Gorge Trail).
Each of these is under 5 miles from our camp spot. Yet, if you are also hoping to hop out of your camper and WALK somewhere, there is a hike that leads you directly up to Chateau Morissette. Some of the property that this walk traverses does go through land that was logged. So, that section has lost a bit of its luster. That said, now you are able to look off in the distance to see the ridge that used to be hidden.
The property you will stay on is a hayfield that typically has a couple of cuttings each summer. There just happens to be a full hook up campsite located at the edge of the property that someone should be enjoying.
The property owner (my mom, who is in her mid 70s and doesn't internet so well) lives just down the road a smidge. She has graciously offered that we can rent this spot out and contribute the profits to her grandsons' college funds. While you may not see any of us at all, there is a chance you will meet some of the family (mom, myself, my husband or the boys), especially if you have any requests or hiccups.

This property is located on the border of VA and NC, 6 miles from Kibler Valley on the Dan River with recreational releases for Class 2 white water kayaking in the summer. We are close to Class 1 kayak and canoe river runs as well in Danbury NC along with hiking in the Blue Ridge mountains, Hanging Rock State Park and Pilot Mountain State Park.
We are close to the legendary Mayberry NC , also known as Mt Airy NC and many wineries and breweries in NC and VA. We will send an email with general information and links after you book.
For now we are only taking one booking at a time so you can choose your spot and have the whole place to yourself and your group up to 12 adults.
There are multiple tent sites as well as room for one or 2 small campers. You can set up your tent under the pavilion or on the band pavilion or string hammocks under the pavilion or from the trees.
Well behaved dogs welcome, NO GUNS, NO FIREWORKS.

What a beautiful location and it was fun to hike down to the new river trail and enjoy an afternoon walking along the river. Our only hesitation in coming back is just how the hook ups are not on the proper side on site 6 and a couple of the other sites. It just made things difficult. But the amazing view was worth it.

This has been our 7th time to visit. The road and campsite gravel has vastly improved and a lot of previous brush blocking the views of the river below have been cut back so now you can see it all. Sunsets continue to be spectacular and the hasn't been a better spot to relax throughout the day and take it all in.

What a site!! The view is breathtaking. We were at site three and we couldn’t really see the water well from our site I think site one and two had better views idk about 4,5,6. There was a deck down below our site with a picnic table no railing that had the most amazing view of like the whole river. Site are big and private Hookup was great. Follow the yellow posters on the side of the road to get to the site. One of our favorite places we stayed so far.

Stunning view! Great set up with the deck and picnic table. Was very windy when we were there so we couldn’t enjoy it to the fullest. Nice wooden swing to chill on. The spot is set behind a shed which is behind the house, so a little closer than we like but still felt private. Magnificent sunset ❤️🔥full hookup. Firewood available for sale arranged by the kids , very cute💕. Very communicative host.
