This was an awesome little chunk of heaven for the weekend! The fire pit, grill, prep tables and picnic table already at the site were perfect for my family’s event. Directions to the spot were super easy to follow. We had a few dogs with us as well and it was great being able to let them explore.

I cannot say enough about how cute this place is, or how welcoming. Worth every penny and more. If you are in the area stay here. The property is amazing and the mountain biking in the Roanoke area is abundant.

Actually we were moved to the Lakeside Campsite based on our needs and Laura's recommendation. Thank you. Laura and Rick were fantastic hosts, they don't come any better. From the time we arrived, to the time we left, we were made to feel at home. The campsite was clean and very scenic. The animals were amazing, each with their own personality. Laura and Rick do amazing things for the animals in their care, as well as the interactive experiences with schools, special needs children, nursing homes, and churches. If you have the time, a Llama walk through their trails will restore your soul. It truly felt like staying in Narnia. Greatly recommend staying at Infinity Acres, we will be back soon.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hippie Hollow. Jeremy was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. He is doing a great job of slowly building a fun and friendly camping community.

Jeremy is such a nice, interesting individual. His vision for the property is amazing, and we look forward to circling to back to watch it grow. Our stay was comfortable and laid back; we felt welcome and safe but had space to experience the land and creek on our own time. A generous and flexible host, and a perfect stop if you’re wanting to explore Floyd. Extra credit for the sweet dogs and family of ducks. The proximity to a somewhat busy road is something to consider if you’re seeking isolation, but it wasn’t an issue for us at all.

Fantastic camping spot! Beautiful and quiet with river access and a dock. There were lawn chairs and cooking utensils which I didn't expect but between the fire pits with grates and the picnic grill you can cook about anything. The ground is level with lots of grass and room for several tents if you want to group camp. The hosts are fantastic. The husband introduced himself first afternoon and asked if I wanted firewood. You can bring your own but I didn't have any way to do that. The $30 scoop of firewood was huge! The weather changed and I ended up leaving a night early with firewood left. The host refunded my firewood without being asked. I would never have expected that but it was appreciated. I can't wait to go back when it's hot enough to get in the river!

Jeremy is an amazing host with a great vision. The spot by the creek he is creating is a gem. It has rained for days so the ground was soggy. We weren't gonna make it to camp before the show we were checking out at the Floyd country store so he made a little video of the least muddy spot. Pulled in and a full moon greeted us over the creek where the sun rose in the AM. 2 minutes from Floyd! Such a great spot and Super host. Thanks for making us feel welcomed.

Roni is an excellent communicator - I need a place to car camp on my way to Mcafee knob for sunrise and she was gracious and accommodating. I didn’t get to see much of the property as it was dark when i arrived and left, but the moon was bright so what I was able to see looked beautiful. Great experience overall. Would definitely camp here again!

This place is beautiful! The pictures don’t do it justice. We saw a heron and turkey milling about the creek. We enjoyed having full hookups with close proximity to VT and other attractions. If you forget anything, you’re close to plenty of options. You do need to bring plenty of leveling supplies. We used pictures of previous set ups to help us figure out what we wanted to do. We were able to make it work for our 34’ travel trailer with the door facing the creek. The hostess is a sweetheart; friendly and helpful, but won’t be in your business either! Highly recommend!

Situated at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and bordering the Jefferson National Forest, Thunder BRidge has scenic, large, private tent sites and cabins in the woods for those who want to experience camping at its finest. Many of the sites border Elk Creek. Our RV sites are large, flat and at the edge of the forest in a well kept open green space. Our 100 acres was originally a camp built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the "30s and early '40s, then a boys' juvenile detention center and Big Brothers'/Big Sisters' camp, which closed in 2009. The tent sites and cabins are in the forest, away from the buildings out front, but you're free to walk around and check out the historic site. Most of the buildings out front are artist studios (currently for 16 artists). We like to share the camp with others and watch it come back to life. All within a short driving distance are the Natural Bridge, wineries, breweries, Natural Bridge Zoo, Safari Park, Dinosaur Kingdom, Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, James River, historic Lexington, Devil's Marbleyard, Glenwood Horse Trail, swimming holes, etc. We have river access 2 miles up the road if you'd like to fish or put your kayak or canoe in. Truly, there is something nearby for everyone. We'd be happy to give you recommendations of things to see and do. If you are a star gazer you won't be disappointed by our dark sky. Meadow Creek In Dry Valley

Formerly Meadow Creek Campground, this beautiful piece of land has two camping spots and a tent spot overlooking a meandering tributary of the Little River called Meadow Creek. The two camper sites have full water and electric hookup. Tent site is primitive, but guests can access water and electricity at the picnic shelter. A portable outhouse is nearby. Picnic table provided in each spot. Location is central to Radford, Floyd and Christiansburg. Cell service is spotty. It's a great place to unplug! Campsites are beyond a gravel driveway. You will need to drive through a grassy area to reach the sites. While the sites are located on fairly flat ground, leveling will be required. We do NOT recommend following GPS. Please see directions to the property and follow carefully to avoid driving around unnecessarily on narrow, winding roads.

This property was once a 300 acre plus tobacco farm. The original log cabin was built in the 1850s and now serves as our dining room. The front portion of the house was completed in April of 1861 and the back in the early 1900s. We have plans to eventually turn it into a working farm which produces tinctures, salves and extracts of various native plants including hemp. Learn more about this land: Heavily wooded mountain side with flowing creek. Easy access (walking distance) to Jefferson National Forest, National Forest horse trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway. (Note: You cannot drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway as the path is an old forest road which has been gated, but you can walk up to it.) We also have a tree house which has AC, heat and electrical connection. Only site 4 is next to the brook. However, the site positions are for the purposes of the listing only. You may camp anywhere on the property. There is plenty of frontage on the creek and several tents can go up there. The toilets at the treehouse and the bus are flushing, camping toilets with sinks. Located less than a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway, this little hayfield is nestled just a skip away from Mabry Mill (the most photographed spot on the parkway), Villa Appalachia (quant Italian style winery), Chateau Morrisette (larger tourist winery), Nancy's Fudge (a little candy factory and shop), and hiking trails of varying lengths with epic views (Black Ridge Trail and Rock Castle Gorge Trail). The property itself is a hayfield that typically has a couple of cuttings each summer. The property owner (my dad, who is in his mid 70s and doesn't internet so well) lives in a log home that is across the field on the adjacent property. He is probably going to stop by to say hi. Most sites offer partial shade. Open field area for playing games. Large communal fire pit beside the river. We also have a communal Shelter that has two booth style tables under it. Nearby places of interest including Falling Springs waterfall, Humpback Bridge, Lake Moomaw, Douthat State Park...all within less than an hours drive. Only a few minutes from the closest town, incase you need food, supplies, fuel, etc. Please note that not all cellular providers have service at this location. I know that Verizon does. W.T. Farm?

What makes W.T. Farm special is the diversity of textures of the landscape. We have great mountain top views, as well as, a deep holler with cliffs, rock outcroppings, and waterfalls. The fields are full of fruit and nut trees and there are 5 ponds. Each of these supports its own flora and fauna. I acquired stewardship of this land 35 years ago and have developed perennial orchards wherever possible. I started with pears and have branched out into pawpaws, apples, persimmons, currants, black walnuts etc. and I boast that I planted the first commercial hickory oil orchard in the world. I am an eccentric horticulturalist and graft cultivar varieties onto existing trees like oaks, hickories, black walnuts, and even the maligned invasive honeysuckle, autumn olive and multiflora rose. Just last year I bought an adjoining farm that opened up 50 acres of more orchard planting. It is on top of the mountain and offers an expansive view of the valley and ridge system that defines our region. Funny thing is that because the land between the old farm and the new farm is divided by cliffs in the holler the only way to get from one to the other is a 12 minute drive or vigorous hiking. On this new land is a historic log cabin I am renovating that is said to be one of the original settler's cabin on the mountain. Because of the amount of tree fruit I grow and the varied landscape, there is a rich diversity of birds and animals to be seen. One of my favorite walks is along the cliffs to the top waterfall where there is a sweet wading pool. I have also built a number of ponds and four of them are quite swimmable. One has a dock and is where we spend much summer time refreshing and frolicking. The farm is also a small (very small) licensed farm winery and we make and sell traditional hard cider from our apples and pears. Our cider can be purchased along with our nut oils and flours and other farm produce you may not be familiar with. We live to eat. Coming here is a gastronomical adventure! I run the Acornucopia project from here and from it we are developing a foragers network that would very much suit the lifestyle of hipcampers. We pay foragers for wild nuts they gather. The Creek at Valdelyon Farm

The beautiful, clear creek features shimmering riffles and deeper swimming or wading holes. When the water level permits, you can float the entire 1/2 mile by kayak. The area is home to a wide range of native Virginia species. Down by the water, you might see deer, bald eagles, a great blue heron, northern pintails, and wild turkey. Part of the wooded acreage is set aside as a wildlife preserve. Our mission is to be good stewards of the environment for the benefit of nature, our farm animals, our family, and YOU! In keeping with that goal, we do not treat our pastures with any pesticides, herbicides, or manufactured fertilizers. Whether you prefer car camping or want to leave your wheels behind, we have the perfect place for you to unwind and kindle your sense of wonder at the marvels of nature. We have great spots for individual campers, all the way up to groups of 25. Fresh well water is available by the farm house, and you're only 25 minutes from town for supplies. We do keep a few provisions on hand, such as camper-friendly foods, hygiene needs, batteries, flashlights etc. Depending on availability we might have farm fresh eggs from our own chickens. And by prior arrangement we may be able to provide home-cooked meals. Covered fire pits can be used when conditions allow. Firewood should be gathered from the property or purchased at the farmhouse. No outside wood is permitted due to the potential spread of invasive species. You may also contract for porta potty services for larger groups. The area has much to offer: the Appalachian Trail crosses nearby, the New River is 30 minutes away, you can be in Blacksburg or Mountain Lake in 40 minutes, and summer blueberry picking is just the next valley over. Hike to beautiful waterfalls, Fenwick Mines, or Dragon's Tooth, all within 35 minutes. Mountain bike on unpaved forest roads...the 15-mile Tub Run Road starts right below the farm! At this time, we do not take bookings for specific sites. We will work with you to select the perfect spot based on your preferences, vehicle type, and anticipated weather/conditions.
