This is our third time staying at this gem of a campground. The hosts take great care of the grounds and bathhouse. They personally check in with each camper and make sure your needs are met.

We loved this riverside camping spot! The covered area with ping pong table was a perfect outdoor activity on the evening ofniur rainy arrival. Thankfully, the next morning, the sky was clear so our family enjoyed playing in the clear river waters searching for crawdads. The hosts were gracious and friendly and the bathhouse was clean. The full hookups were great. We look forward to returning!

We throughly enjoyed our peaceful camping trip. Robert's land is perfect for our needs. Our dogs were so relaxed and so were we. We will have a really hard time enjoying a regular style campground ever again. We will be back!! Communication was great and responsive. We managed to fit a triple axel 34ft camper in with minimal leveling. We enjoyed some breweries nearby and shopping in mineral. The fireworks were a special treat and even my hotspot worked for Netflix. Thank you for sharing your land.

Great little campground in the countrybut only 10 minutes to lexington. Spread our and not over crowded. Nice south river right behind the sites. Hosts very attentive making sure you had firewood etc. will be definitely going back and taking more family

Glamping at Kennedy Peak was great! Nathan was super helpful and accommodating, even though we reached out to him an hour before we needed the reservation. Nathan's land is on an uphill incline, although the Kennedy Peak plot was level. I was able to level my trailer, and the adjacent plots appeared to be level as well. The grounds were very quiet. A delightful feature was the presence of a large, frienfly family of friendly ducks.

Fritz and Valerie were great hosts and we enjoyed our time with our teardrop camper at site #14. The facilities were clean and the property was very nice! Close access to the river was a big bonus. We plan to return very soon!

You can literally park just steps from the water and spend the day playing, relaxing, or cooling off in the stream. It’s peaceful, secluded, and feels like your own private escape into nature. We travel in a 24 foot class C. This has become one of our favorite campgrounds! Valerie & Fritz are the most wonderful hosts. They are so kind & welcoming. The location is perfect, a quiet valley that is away from it all but still close enough to the interstate & towns. The setting is so peaceful. You hear the river & see plentiful stars at night. Sites are spacious. This site provided wonderful shade too. We look forward to coming back again!

2 nights at Private Paradise on Rivers Bend

Enjoyable stay with river on one side and open field on the other. Mostly dry, level parking. Private. no road noise. a rope was there to help in getting up/down the steep, muddy bank at site 2. (while site 1 appeared to have a sandy/stony bank for gentler water access and probably better for kids/dogs imo). deer, wild turkey, groundhogs, and other nature all around the site. New picnic table and fire pit with great wood pile. Had a little mechanical issue getting out. host and their on-site support were very helpful in getting us back on the road. Appreciated the kindness.

2 nights at Seven Islands River Front Camping

My guest and I stayed at site 2 for two nights and had an amazing stay. We came mentally prepared for some awful heat and humidity but the river and a very large tree helped curb a lot of the discomfort. The beach front is nice easy access into the river but be cautious as the current definitely moves. The river bed was clean but there’s a few sharper rocks. My guest did a lot of fishing but and caught a ton of small stuff but nothing he was interested in keeping. We had a menace of a raccoon who all but terrorized us for two days but we kept our food locked up when we weren’t at the site so avoid accidentally feeding it. 10/10 will return to site 2. I’m already looking at future dates.

Near the Blue Ridge hills, Appalachian trail, Sherando Lake, several camp grounds, South River, many streams and some national forest. We once had a large group of permaculture students that was very satisfied. We are developing in 2025 Lots of open here so campfires are ok. We have space for a motorhome to 20 feet, with electric and space for small RVs, tent, or trailer if you have a group, room for a dozen small tent sites so contact us. We can work something out. Land is mostly level we are in a lovely recreational area. One place is great for a hammock between trees We're fond of the musically inclined. So bring your instruments. we love nature enthusiasts, homesteaders, bushwhackers, bicyclists, bikers, scooter fans road trippers...Come practice your camping or homesteading skills. Lot of trails nearby. Plenty of space to run and play. Pets welcome. They do not need to be on a leash, but they could run into the woods. Portions of the historic Three Chopt Trail, a Native American trail, run through a large portion of the county. The trail was marked by three hatchet chops in trees to show the way. The modern-day U.S. Route 250 roughly follows this route from Richmond to Charlottesville. Learn more about this land: In the heartland of Goochland where you can see deer from far and wide. This was a 55-acre farm, split in half to accommodate a bypass through Charlottesville, so the previous owners had to give up half the land, and actually moved the house down to the other half of the property! They had to build a land bridge to get to the new home site, so they turned the bridge into a dam and created a beautiful large swimming pond, complete with beach and gazebo. My wife Stephanie and I bought the property in early 2017 and have turned it into a private horse farm, adding pastures, a riding ring, and 6-stall barn. There are ~21 horses who live on the property. The property is unique in that you can hardly see another house from anywhere on the property and yet we are only 2 miles from Barracks Rd. Shopping Center, and 4 miles from the University of Virginia.

This is due to a yearly Festival held in Scottsville where Historic river boats that used to haul goods up and down the river back in the day are manned by people in period clothing re-enacting the route that was taken. Smallmouth and catfish are biting. Go by a local store and buy night crawlers,worms and a pack of 2/0 hooks and you will catch something . Firewood available per request and delivered for$30.00 a load. Accessible by car or canoe, East End at Seven Islands provides endless fun for the whole family, including your well behaved off-leash dogs. When you arrive take a cooling dip in a quiet “river pool”, relax on your private beach, or see if the fish are biting. Let your kids experience the best the river has to offer by exploring the shallows for crayfish, chasing minnows, or watching for Bald Eagles patrolling the river. Arcadia is the name we gave to our 83-acre mountainside retreat center for Earth-Based Spirituality. It’s nestled on the south-eastern slope of 4000-foot Mount Pleasant in Central Virginia, convenient to I81. (Note, there is a town called Arcadia off I81, but that is not us. Not to confuse.) We have a mountain creek with waterfalls, towering Beech and Sycamore trees, Witch Hazels leaning over the water, trout, crayfish, snakes, salamanders, and all the rest. We have about 2000 feet of the vertical mountainside with trails to explore. (But the stage and most of the camping is down closer to creek-level.) There are more sites higher up the mountain if you like more isolated camping. More of a trek to the bathrooms/showers/freshwater. We have one of the finest private stages on the East Coast with a top-notch sound system and a natural amphitheater which is like a single pie wedge of a Stadium that has regular live performances throughout the spring, summer, and fall. Our yurt is regularly booked as a unique glamping experience. There are chickens, ducks, turkeys, and guinea fowl free-roaming. Two dogs, nine cats, and several humans are blessed to call this home. There are two bridges that cross Thrashers Creek to get to Arcadia. The first is not suitable for large vehicles and trailers. The second bridge is our recommended entry way. Be aware we live on side of Mount pleasant and the roads on site are graveled and somewhat windy.
