Only 15 minutes from the Swift Run Gap Entrance to the Shenandoah National Park our farm has a mountain feel. Our 17 acre farm was originally part of a larger family farm and moonshine stills were once in operation on the property, now we grow veggies and berries and raise chickens for eggs and meat. The Mayapples are prolific in spring and the fall colors are terrific. The campsites are in the woods and around the field a distance away from the house. There are walking trails and a pond and a hammock for relaxing, close to great hiking, summits and waterfalls, 50 minutes to Old Rag. Many local wineries to discover and many historical sites including Montpelier and Monticello and Charlottesville and UVA New as 2023** the barn referred to in early reviews is now a music studio and no longer for use by campers. Site 1 - Carol's Corner

We felt as if we were children being told what to do. I would feel more comfortable if I knew the extra rules to the campsite before we got there. Also, I paid for a bundle of firewood to be at the campsite when we got there. We had to get it ourselves. Other than that, it is very remote and quiet. There is no traffic noise and the sound of nature is fantastic. If you have a fear of chickens, this is also not the spot for you. We did not mind the composting toilet or the showers except that we Didn’t have hot water, but I am only assuming it’s because the pilot light was out.

Site 1 - Carol's Corner

Such a cool Place!

I enjoyed the peace and comfort provided by Carol and Tom! The area was clean, welcoming, private, and amazing location in the mountains. The shower experience was top notch, just loved it! Thank you and look forward to returning with more time.

Site 2 -White Oak Camp

The campgrounds were maintained very well. Early July, there were some wild berries on the property too and Carol was kind enough to allow us to pick and eat them! Site 2 is more secluded than site 1 but site 1 is closer to the bathroom and outdoor shower. If you like to light up your campsite, I would recommend bringing more lights than usual as the site, at least site 2, is much bigger than other campsites in other campgrounds. The hosts were amazing and would highly recommend this place.

Site 2 -White Oak Camp

We had a wonderful time on Carol and Tom's land! The hosts were both friendly and helpful, the land and amenities were well maintained, and the campsite was private and exceeded our expectations. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Site 2 -White Oak Camp

We had a wonderful weekend at Carol and Tom's site. Wildlife was abundant, we felt secluded enough to be comfortable, and our hosts were incredibly friendly and gracious. 10/10
