Spectacular sunsets behind the house offer panoramic views of Sugarloaf Mountain. The night skies are usually clear, making it ideal for stargazing.
A 3-person salt-water hot tub is available, contingent on availability. $50/hr. and requires a shower before entering. Spa robes, towels, and slippers are provided, depending on availability.
2 e-bikes and 1 mountain bike, all of which are contingent upon availability. A signed waiver is required. Minimum age is 16 years old or at the discretion of the host. They cost $25/hr. per person.
Experienced horse riders can book horse rides for $50/hr. per person. Inexperienced riders must be led using a lead rope. Signed waivers and provided helmets are required.
Our in-ground, unheated swimming pool is open mid-April to end October. $60/hr.

THE CAMPGROUND IS REGISTERED WITH MONTGOMERY COUNTY SHORT TERM RENTALS LICENSE # STR25-00075. The campground is situated in the wooded area on the back of 27 acre horse farm which is known as "The Stables at Mezza Luna." There is Wi-Fi to all the sites.
Every year in the spring there are 4-6 Thoroughbred foals born that eventually will become racehorses. They live on the farm until they are 2 years old and then they go off to begin their racing career.

Our property is in Howard County, Maryland, and is super convenient to I-95, I-295, Hwy 32, and I-70. It is centrally located between Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, and Frederick, MD. We are located right off of Highway 32 down a long, private paved driveway. What makes our property unique is all that it has to offer--it's an 18 acre oasis with mature woods protected by a conservation deed, lightly rolling hills, beautiful fields, wetlands, and a pond. It is not surprising to see deer and our local great blue heron on the property throughout the day. There is also a fire pit, which you are free to use. From the flat land at the bottom to the top of the mountain, this is a place where you can find a spot to sit and think, draw, paint, nap, or identify over 30 medicinal plants in their natural habitats (absolutely NO harvesting of medicinals or wildflowers!). Listen to the many birds, spot the wildflowers.
Some areas are accessible by wheelchair, while others are not, but all areas offer something to sustain your spirit.
If you feel the need to explore the area, you are within walking distance of NotaViva Farm Brewery and Winery, 15 dirt road minutes from the new Sweet Run State Park one direction and Breaux Vineyard in the other direction. The Appalachian Trail is just over the top of the mountain and Harpers Ferry National Park is down the road and over the Shenandoah River.

We have a small hobby farm with chickens, peacocks, and livestock guardian dogs (who bark at night). The rest of the property is wooded, with a 1/2 acre clearing great for tents and campers. All hail William Smallwood. Not only did he serve in the Revolutionary War, but he left behind the ideal escape from beltway chaos. Just 40 minutes outside DC, Smallwood State Park is a 628 acre paradise with a marina, boat launching ramps, a picnic area, camping area, pavilions, a recycled tire playground and nature trails. The park is on the Mattawoman Creek, less than a mile from the Potomac River, but if you’re ready to swim, errrr, boat/fish with the big fish, the Potomac River is just a mile away. Feeling reflective? Go way back to the 18th century with tours of Smallwood’s Retreat House, open on the first and third Sundays, May through September.

If you’re down for a little history (and maybe a little mystery) Cedarville State Forest will definitely dazzle. The 3,510 acre forest was once the winter camping ground of the Piscataway Tribe because of the mild climate and abundance of game. Legend claims that there is a Native American burial ground within the forest... but it has yet to be found. Spooky! Equestrian, family and youth group campsites are available for your overnight stay. 19.5 miles of horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking trails weave through the forest. They pass a number of historical features, including the loblolly pine plantations that were planted by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's, by a charcoal kiln, and through farm areas whose springs and streams were used to make moonshine!

My partner and I loved camping here w Alan and his wife. The space was a bit bigger than I thought it would be, which was helpful as our 35 ft Class A has 3 slide outs. When we arrived, there was a little more hidden route we took to get the RV parked where you have to go through taller grass. Our RV is by no means off roading ready, but we made it through with no real issues. Though I think it’s worth noting the trees did scrape our RV a bit, so if that’s a concern for you maybe take that into consideration. For us, it was no biggie but we’re also pretty chill about things like that.
Alan guided us to the spot and even walked us through how to plug into the electric and water (as it was our first time). The water is well water so that was awesome too. Alan was really responsive whenever we needed something. There was a trash can that was easy to walk to and an option to park our car on his driveway. There’s even a pool and campfire area!
Our power went out for a few days due to a huge storm. Alan went out of his way to bring out a generator for us and even plugged our RV into the power box when it came back on at 3AM. We woke up to a nice cold RV, which was a great surprise as we had communicated being concerned about our 3 animals in the 95 degree July weather.
All in all, it’s a great spot. Alan and his wife are good people. We would definitely stay here again.

A safe and secluded parking spot off the the beaten path to spend the night. Excellent amenities and great communication from the host. Rodney's place was perfect for us to spend the night. It was easy to find and Rodney was most hospitable: extraordinarily so since just the day before, a flash flood destroyed some of his animal containment fencing, so he was very busy with the needed repairs. Our camp spot was not affected as it was on higher ground that was sand/gravel/grass, so it still worked well for our van camper. He even provided us with a dozen farm fresh eggs (for only $5) from his own chickens. Thank you Rodney.

Rodney and Tara have developed a system to meet your needs whether passing through or taking a few days or weeks to visit Historic Central Virginia, filled with wineries, horse country, national parks and history. This place is GREAT! Rodney is always so helpful. We love it here! We highly recommend and will always come back when we need RV hook ups in Fredericksburg, VA. This time we visited, we didn’t get to interact with the animals sadly since it was freezing and I don’t like the cold, we will try again during another reservation. This was a cozy snowy visit. Oh I did say hi to the doggies in and out though.
