The south side of the ridge has a small pond close to the road. The rest is pasture, and an orchard and small vineyard. The north side of the ridge is old growth timber, and shady and cool. The two cabins are along the river. One is perched on a ridge over looking the river and the other is right on the river. The swimming hole is 30 feet from the lower cabin. There is room for a couple campsites along the river also. The south side of the ridge was a cotton farm decades ago, but was covered in timber when I bought it 12 years ago. Lights and electrical outlets are 110V (3 prongs) for YOUR coffee pots, electric grills, mattress inflators, crockpots, electric blankets, fans, et I do not provide any electrical appliances, other than counter area lighting and low-level string lights, so one can see the night sky Many of my campers will "Pay it Forward" and leave coffee pots, hot plates, fans and such, so count yourself lucky to find a deck with them. I provide chairs, 5 gallons of fresh water in containers, a fickle solar shower, and a pop-up changing room, along with an assortment of camping supplies from dog bowls to antimicrobial. I provide various-size garbage bags to manage your garbage. Your parking area is next to the deck. Black Mountain’s tasty restaurants are 4 miles away, and All Trails is an excellent app for finding trails suited for your interests. Private decks on a dead-end gravel road mean hopefully the sounds will only be of nature. The conveniences of electricity, porta john, water, chairs, table, roof, cleaning supplies, rain curtains, and astounding views have my Glampers coming back often. The Confluence campsite is situated on 21 acres between the north and south forks of Mills River. This serene campsite borders native trout water and an an additional 45 private acres that have been passed down in the Brittain family since the 1790s. The upper meadow provides canoe, kayak and fishing access to South Mills River as well as shaded private mountain trails. This very private campground is a five minute drive from Pisgah National Forest and 10 minutes from the Asheville Airport and the Sierra Nevada Brewing company. Four-wheel-drive is recommended for rainy weather.

Weekend Trip to Adin`s river cabin

If you're looking for fancy, bells and whistles this isn't for you. If you're looking for privacy, peace and serenity in a rustic cabin then you found it. The cabin is small but cozy. The cabin does have hot water, but only for a couple minutes. It has a decent size sink in the kitchen. The bathroom is tiny and not for the costraphibic, but it's nice having something indoors. There also an outhouse. Adin offers heat for an extra fee if you ask. We didn't use it, it was chilly at night, but still warmer than tent camping. The rd to the cabin in narrow and a little steep, but we made it in and out with two wheel drive. The property terrain itself is pretty rugged and steep(sometimes slippery) with cliffs. I would say younger children need good supervision venturing if you bring them and it wouldn't be suitable for people with mobility issues. If you have children I would bring a baby gate for the upstairs loft, as it's an open entrance and exit at the ladder stairs, which are steep. Room for extra tents in site. There's tons of deck space here with three decks and amazing views from the top. The sounds of the rapids and the frogs are so serene. The river is beautiful and clear with plenty of room. There's also some trails on the property. Sadly you can see some of the damage caused by flooding from the hurricane. Our little family enjoyed our stay here. Adin and his wife were kind and helpful. What a blessing to own a beautiful piece of paradise. Thank you for sharing it.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights in campsite 1. We loved sitting by the fire overlooking the creek. The camp store was stocked with firewood and had a coffee pot for our use, which was very nice. Even though a highway was close, the traffic noise was never a concern. It was quiet at night. Craig was a nice host, and very helpful. We would love to camp there again.

I really enjoyed my stay here at the tent site. As a solo traveler I felt my site was private but knowing that there were others right up the hill was very comforting. The host was wonderful. She took me right down to my site. Loads of firewood and a shelter if it rains. And the hot showrrs was such a plus. Such a great spot to explore the area. I will definetly be back. Loved it!

My family & I loved Adin’s cabin. It was perfect for us to escape the fast city life for the weekend. We walked the creek bank, searched for worms, tried fishing.. but had no luck. Mr. Adin said Helene had taken most of the fish. The water was crystal clear, & the sound of the water moving had me mesmerized.
