There was enough space for large tents and several hammocks. We caught several different fish. There is a small charcoal grill and a nice fire pit, swing, and picnic table. The privacy is nice, and it’s not a bad walk with your gear especially with a wagon. We are so grateful to this space so close to home and can’t wait to get back out there. Thank you for sharing such a lovely space.

This is absolutely a hidden gem right outside of Charlotte! We took our four month old daughter and two dogs for our first family camping trip and it was absolutely perfect! Stunning views that cannot be arched in the area!

I am a hairstylist and I tell all of my clients that sit in my chair about this hip camp. I love it so much and I want everyone to be able to enjoy it! I have come now twice and I will continue to come as long as I live in the Charlotte area!

Amazing camping spot. Private. The swimming hole is nice and deep. The stream and woods are wonderful. The camping spot is shaded but there is open grass where you park so you can also lay on a blanket under the stars. It was magical watching the shooting stars with the kids.

This is an absolutely beautiful gem of a spot. The waterfall and swimming hole were perfect to beat the summer heat. Not to mention the soft sandy beaches that my dog Theodore was thrilled about! We sat in our floaty letting the water gently guide us around the cove. I loved the quietude and privacy of the site, especially since my Pomeranians don’t do well at larger campsites. The trees provided wonderful shade, but you could go up the trail a bit to the big open sky to stargaze. I was able to enjoy reading in my hammock, enjoy the bench swing, and pitch my tent with the view of the water or the trees! The sounds of the water was calming and just really lovely!! I can’t wait to come back again, perhaps in the fall to see the leaves changing colors.

Great little secluded spot right in Charlotte's backyard, easy to get to. Great for a little retreat as a couple. We didn't swim, but the dog did and she loved it. Will definitely keep this spot in mind for future trips!

This spot was exactly what I've been looking for on Hipcamp - a beautiful secluded location that is easy to access. Parking was close enough to be convenient but far enough to forget the car was there. I strive to pass my love of the outdoors to my 4 year old and sites like this go a long way. Firefly light show before bed then falling asleep to the sound of the water can't be beat.

The perfect camping spot! Great swimming spot and had all the amenities we needed, plus a brand new grill. Very easy to hang hammocks. Steve was great and brought us firewood. Can’t wait to stay here and other sites on the property again.

Perfect site for primitive camping!! Falling asleep to the sounds of the creek is an excellent experience and the hosts, Steve and His Wife are very pleasant and make a mean breakfast. Definitely recommend the swimming hole !!

My boyfriend and I loved staying on Steve's property! We loved having our own personal part of a river to fall asleep to. Whether we were lounging in our hammocks or cooking this property was so peaceful and serene yet still close enough to major stores for our inevitable walmart run. My only regret is we didn't bring fishing poles! Steve was so friendly and welcoming and we are so thankful for him and his wife's hospitality.

First time to swimming hole we rented 2 nights we were able to fit 2 big camp tent and 2 small tent for bathroom and bath we all loved this place so peaceful been able to sleep with the noise of the river was lovely and relax we are planing on coming back once it gets more hot ! The owner was really helpful with all my question and didn’t take long to reply back to my message really helpful I really do recommend camping here !

Water has a great flow and sound. Very relaxing. Would be so nice in the summer. Easy to get to and feels much further out than it is. I enjoyed my short stay. Thanks for sharing!

The giant rocks out-reaching into the large creek at this large, river-like creek may it a great spot to sit with the tranquility of the flowing water.
With a picnic table, a fire pit (my favorite part of camping), and plenty of room made this one of our favorite camping trips, yet.

Great little get away not far from Charlotte. Short 250 foot walk to the campsite. The water noise was very peaceful all night. I like how close it is, makes an after work trip possible.

This is a super convenient spot just a few miles off the interstate, but also very private and secluded. We loved jumping into the cold water after a long day of driving, and sleeping with the sound of the river gurgling next to the tent. The only drawback was the incredible amount of mosquitoes in the morning (they weren't noticeable at all when we arrived after dark and hung out by the river at night). We had planned on a morning by the river before hitting the road again, but packed in a hurry and got out of there quickly because the mosquitoes were so bad! Maybe that's just to be expected in August by a river in NC?
Steve was super responsive to our last-minute booking, and got us information quickly about how to access the site. Thanks for sharing your magical spot with HipCampers!

This place was pretty incredible. Very private and our dogs absolutely loved every second. We couldn’t keep them out of the water! My son caught 15 fish! 🎣
We are fairly newish to camping so maybe I did something wrong but we were all covered in ticks. Atleast 2-3 each per person/dog. Other than that long day fiasco removing them all - Awesome spot, friendly hosts, and definitely recommend.

Nice, secluded spot right on the edge of the river. I had a very nice and relaxing time with my two dogs. Dogs are permitted off leash as well. This site has the feel of seclusion while being close to town. The hosts are very accommodating and down-to-earth people. I don't camp very often but I will definitely go back.

We had an awesome trip! The directions were easy and our camping wagon made the short walk to the site a breeze. It’s nicely shaded with a great, deep swimming hole- we were able to tube, float, swim (our dog had a blast)! A great getaway not too far from home.
