Peace Of Pisgah

My husband and I loved this whole camping experience! The tent is super spacious with a beautiful view of the creek. We'd wake up to the sound of happy ducks playing in the water too. I have back problems and was worried about the bed at first, but man! It was SO comfortable. I was even able to use the swing yoga rig at the pavilion to do some decompression for my back. Vicki was so kind and very communicative with any and all questions. I also loved all the little signs that give detailed instructions for any and every thing. 100/10 can't wait to go back!

This was an absolutely adorable place to stay! Everyone was very friendly and it was great that there were shared spaces, but I still felt like I could have privacy at my site. The whole campground was well maintained, and perfectly located between hiking at DuPont State Forest and the night life of Asheville!

Vicki had the tent set up and ready for us when we arrived. The cots had a an inflatable pad on them which made it even comftier! She also left wood and herbs for us. Would stay again.

We stayed in our camper van for a few nights. It’s a super beautiful place with cool chickens and ducks and turkeys. Nice area to walk around. Vicki was an awesome host and a super cool person! Will be back !

I enjoyed my stay at Vicki's place. The campsite was a perfect set up and nestled right by a creek. As others have said, there is road noise, so be prepared for that. The shower was lovely and relaxing.

We had an incredible stay! Vicki is a phenomenal host who has clearly dedicated lots of time to creating a peaceful atmosphere to enjoy the outdoors. She had proactively reached out to me when Site 3 opened up and offered to upgrade us, so happy that we did! All of the sites are wonderful and offers a perfect getaway base camp for exploring the nearby outdoors and Asheville. We hope to be back!

Great tent area next to a small creek with fire pit, covered picnic table, and a tent pad. A short walking path takes you to a custom built outhouse and a hot shower. Vicki and Brian were great hosts and provided some awesome guitar/violin tunes around the community campfire.

Perfect Peace at Pisgah

We had a gorgeous trip to Pisgah Forest when the leaves were starting to change in October. Staying on Vicki’s land was a great experience. Everything was clean and tidy and exactly how it’s described on the website. It’s also a perfect location for hikes, bike rides, restaurants, and activities/shopping. We plan to go back soon to visit the chickens!

I have traveled the US quite a bit and this was one of the most pleasant experiences I've had. From the host communication to the beautiful setting, it is hard to imagine a better spot this near the national forest! The hosts were so kind through the booking process and happy to answer my questions. What a perfect location, a short drive from the Land of the waterfalls and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The campground itself is beautifully built. Communal fire pit, central outdoor kitchen and a hot shower. I read some reviews about road noise but in my RV there was absolutely no problem. This is a place I would have gladly extended my stay if not for previous plans. Highly recommended!

1. The host, Vicki, is a very good person and genuinely friendly. No complaint. I do not like giving negative reviews or comments, as I know it can damage the business. 2. The bed was not comfortable at all. The bed was made from 2 single camp beds, which were not level. One bed was higher than the other. The mattress was made from 6 individual small pieces, which kept moving the entire night. I had to leave the place because of back pain. 3. Too much noise from the highway. This is something that I know can't be fixed.

Vicki’s land is a sweet get away! We loved the chickens but especially enjoyed meeting her turkey Sweet Pea! She has a great nature walk on the property. Also the shower was divine after a day of biking. Vicki is making her property magical for guests to enjoy and wishing her all the best!

The spot was very secluded from other sites on the property and was a great home base for local adventures. Vicki was quick to respond with communications and very accommodating during our stay. The highway noise is definitely noticeable, as noted by others, but the provided ear plugs were a nice touch! The shower was hot and very welcomed after a long day of hiking.

Too Loud For Tent

We were tent camping at spot #1 for two nights. Overall, the campground itself was nice. The showers, bathroom, and community area were nice and clean. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming! Unfortunately, we were very surprised by the proximity of this campground to the highway upon our arrival. While it’s mentioned in the campground’s main listing, the specific spot we booked from was advertised as a creekside camping spot. The noise from the cars/trucks/motorcycles driving on the highway swallowed any natural sounds like the small creek. It was hard to hear each other while sitting side by side at the campfire. We hung out for a while, but ultimately decided it was unsafe to sleep in a tent that close to the highway, after hearing people talking and walking around right outside of the campground. We ended up sleeping in our car and leaving a day early as the key feature of camping in a tent is peace and quiet. The campground is conveniently located, so I recommend this spot for folks with an RV, camper, or van.

Chill with Great Hosts

I booked site 1 as a base camp for a 4 day climbing trip in Pisgah National Forest. i chose Peace of Pisgah because of its location, amenities, and previous guests' reviews. The Booking: -- Booked through Hipcamp, and true to the other reviewers' experience, the host reached out with a welcome email containing all the relevant details for the stay within 24 hrs. They also sent reminder and direction emails in advance of my trip date. Plus they are super-close to the south entrance to Pisgah National Forest, between Turkey Pens and US276. The Arrival: -- Directions were perfect. Access to the campground and the site were straightforward. The turn-off of NC280 is initially paved and then a well-maintained gravel road. You do not need a 4x4 or a truck to get to the campground or your campsite. I have 2021 Ranger and there were no issues, and I would have no problem driving our minivan in/out of here. A larger vehicle might not be able to get positioned without doing a minor 3-point turn, but nothing beyond what you would have to do anywhere else. My campsite, Site 1 Creekside, had level parking as large as advertised and there was plenty of vertical clearance for taller vehicles. I had enough room in the spot to back my truck in and have a popup 10x10 canopy over the tailgate and there was still another 8~10' to spare in the spot. First Impressions: -- The site was clean, organized, and matched the description on Hipcamp exactly. The host had setup a canopy over the picnic

Spectacular Stay!

Our stay at Vicky’s was magical! The site was spacious, clean and equipped with everything we needed to have a great getaway in the woods. While there were other campers on the site, we had a great deal of privacy and loved falling asleep and waking to the sound of the babbling creek just outside of the tent. The site is just secluded enough while being close to many stores and restaurants for odds and ends. Triple falls in DuPont state park and Balsam knob were two of our favorite nearby wonders!

great spot by pisgah nat'l forest!

this is exactly what i needed-i really enjoyed my stay there! it's true, the traffic can be heard, but it slows down significantly after 8:30/9:00. i was there for 5 nights, and it did start to just become background noise. kitchen area, pavilion, outhouse, and a large outdoor/covered shower. lots of signage so no confusion on where to go. great hosts and animal hosts (ducks, chickens, turkeys, etc.). definitely recommend!

What a lovely place to stay! I have my niece once a year, who is 4 soon 5. We camped here and she and we were thrilled with the fantastic set up! We stayed at site #3. Private space. Roomy tent! I put up our hammock over the CREEK! My niece and dog loved playing in it as well. Chickens! Ducks! Bought eggs! Nature trails! Yoga! Running water! Charging station! Pots, pans, coffee cups… dish soap.. firewood for sale.. you’re set here. The hosts are the KINDEST, and you can tell that they have put in a lot of thought into the work they have done on their property 🤩 The bathroom-two thumbs up. I highly recommend and look forward to going back ☀️🤍

Decompressing!

It's still a bit of a dream! If you're looking for a place to unwind and reconnect with a spouse or family, this is it! A secluded campsite nestled by a creek in a dense forest of rhododendrons, mountain laurel, ferns and hardwoods is where you are. You have your own picnic table and campsite to cook over or just enjoy with 2 adirondacks and a log bench surrounding it. The tent is "circus" style with a wonderful queen size bed with charming solar powered lights strung for ambience as well as functionality in the tent. There is plenty of room for additional air mattresses to accomodate more if your group is larger. There is a park bench down beside the babbling creek to be close to stick your toes in the water or just enjoy the peace. There is traffic noise during the day but the peaceful serenity of the site almost cancels it out. There is much to do within 15 min of the camp so we were taking advantage of tubing, hiking and biking as well as a delicious breakfast/brunch recommendation from Vicki, Pisgah Bakehouse! The weather was delightfully cool in the evenings to warrant a blanket- who knew the end of July?! Linens are provided for the bed including pillows. Standard camping gear of cook stove, lanterns, mosquito repellents etc are needed. Firewood is available to purchase from them or bring your own. There is a cedar outhouse that is delightfully decorated, complete with instructions. the shower/bathhouse is adjacent and hot! We may be back in the Fall!

Magical Hipcamp

Vicki’s place is magical! It was easy to find. My camp was easy to get to, and far away from the other camps to be secluded. The little creek running beside was perfect. Vicki was extremely gracious, allowing me to reserve on short notice. 10/10

Wonderful little oasis

Lovely and private space right beside the creek! We had our own fire pit and picnic bench and even a bucket “toilet “ for emergencies. Everything clearly marked from the parking lot to the site, host Vicki was extremely quick to respond. Great kitchen area and small shared fridge. Everyone was very friendly, outhouse and bathhouse were immaculate! Best shower ever with that rain shower head. Truly special location.

The Best Trip Ever ❤️❤️

My friends and I (a total of 6 people) take a camping trip every summer and this was the best one yet. We have never felt so welcome on a trip before and we had a great time. Vicki’s property is not only beautiful but extremely clean. Even though it was raining throughout our trip the outdoor kitchen was available for us to use and Vicki was so great about making sure we had everything we needed/ wanted. Don’t forget to visit her sweet chickens, ducks, and turkey. Also if you need anything you are close to stores. 10000/10 recommend for anyone. We will be back in the future!
