We are conveniently located just 6 minutes from downtown Sandy, known for its food trucks, outdoor gear shops, and the famous Joe's Donuts. Though we are right off a busy highway, we're in a valley so all you'll hear are the tranquil sounds of Cedar Creek's flowing waters and the chirping birds who live in the cedars overhead. The small clearings throughout the property provide natural privacy for our campers, while the barn provides amenities making it difficult to leave. We're so honored to share this magical place with as many people exploring the Pacific Northwest as we can. We hope your stay here will bring you a deep sense of peace, inspire creativity, give you whatever it is you're in need of at this moment in time. Take a dip in Cedar Creek, sit and read by one of the ponds, get your heart pumping on the hilly trails on the north side of the property, pick as many blackberries as you can find if in season. We can't wait to host you! NON-NEGOTIABLE RULES: PACK IN PACK OUT: We do not have trash or recycling bins down in the creekside campground so please keep your waste contained and take it with you when you leave. Please do not throw any trash in the porta-potties. 4WD/AWD REQUIRED PAST THE BARN: The steep gravel roads can be tough for some cars and rigs (particularly on the way out) and consequently, can cause a lot of damage to our roads. So for everyone's safety, we have restricted access to only vehicles with 4WD or AWD only. Please do not message us asking us to advise on the vehicle you have. If someone in your party has a 2WD vehicle, they can park up in the entry lot and get shuttled down to the campsites in a 4WD vehicle. If we see a 2WD vehicle in the campground, we will ask you to leave and if we have to dig you out, we will charge a $200 fee. Thank you for respecting our policies and helping us maintain our space. DOG FRIENDLY: We are as dog friendly as it gets here. Unleashed dogs are allowed on this property down by the creek (on-leash required in and around the barn). If you have a fear of dogs, or have dogs that are not friendly with other people or fellow dogs, this probably isn't the right campground for you. Of course, we expect all dog owners to keep an eye on their pets so they don't disturb other campers or ingest anything they're not supposed to. QUIET HOURS: 10pm-9am. We ask that guests keep the noise (loud music and loud conversations) to a minimum between 10pm and 9am. We live onsite and will enforce these if we have to (please don't make us). NO FIREARMS, FIREWORKS OR ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE USE. This is not a late night party campsite. This property is best enjoyed in the daylight and we encourage campers who want to take full advantage of the scenery, will abide by the quiet hours, and maintain a safe space for all. OTHER INFO: CELL SERVICE: There is an AT&T tower on our property so that gets the best service by far. Verizon is pretty good. T-mobile does not get reception here. Welcome to our peaceful sanctuary in the forest - drive down the 900' gravel driveway to our property surrounded by towering trees and scenic vistas. Our campsite isn’t far from town and amenities, but it feels private and peaceful, a true escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. We’re just a stone’s throw from the Historic Columbia River Highway and the Sandy River—perfect for world-class fishing or lazy river days. Within just a few minutes’ drive you can access the “Waterfall Corridor” of the Columbia River Gorge, Vista House, Portland Women’s Forum Scenic Viewpoint, Multnomah Falls and Lodge, plus some of the best hiking trails in the world. We're conveniently located about 5 miles from McMenamins Edgefield if you need a place to camp after a concert. This is a fantastic location to settle in and relax on our farm or use as a base camp for Columbia Gorge adventures. Our campite offers two large, level RV sites with electric and water hookups (no sewer—campers must be fully self-contained). Each site has a picnic table and is surrounded by tall, mature trees and bucolic views of neighboring farm fields. Our farm features blueberries, pear, apple, and plum trees and lots of flowers! Wildlife includes deer, elk, owls, coyotes, raccoons, plenty of squirrels, and, if you’re lucky even bald eagles! Our dog Elsie is a loyal farm pup who helps keep deer and small predators away. Don’t worry she’s extremely friendly with people (especially children) and plays well with other well-behaved dogs. Springtime is especially gorgeous here, with magnolias, dogwoods, rhododendrons, irises, lilies, peonies, dahlias, hydrangeas, and pollinator gardens all in bloom. In the fall, the foliage is stunning as big-leaf and Japanese maples turn golden, orange and fiery red. The trees, flowers, and views are truly spectacular and we’re sure you’ll enjoy them as much as we do. There’s also plenty of open space to toss a frisbee, enjoy a picnic lunch, or wander through the gardens and canopied forest trails.

5 nights at Scenic RV sites Near Columbia Gorge

I loved camping here for five wonderful days while attending a workshop at Menucha Retreat Center and a concert at the Corbett Grange Hall. I was welcomed by Chris who helped me (a novice backer-upper) back my 18’ travel trailer into the Pond View campsite. The two wooded campsites are newly constructed with new electrical hookups, water hookups, and picnic tables. Highly recommended for all those visiting the Columbia River Gorge, Portland, and the Menucha Retreat Center.

It was our second visit to lions Mane camp site and we just had a blast! If you live in Portland it is so fast to get to but you truly feel as though you are immersed in wilderness. We relaxed around the fire pit, made smores and explored the hiking trails. We even checked out some other sites which we plan to book soon. Thank you so much Lauren and Jeremy for sharing your space with us.

I am so happy we booked this place! It was the first stop on the way to Crater Lake. Hwy 26 is a great little adventure. We loved the barn ! It was great because I didn’t have to set up camp while traveling. It was so nice to make breakfast in the morning and take the dogs on a walk on the off leash trails! The barn also has nice clean flushing toilets and clean, hot showers. There’s games and a couch to hang out which is nice if the weather turns bad. All the amenities are there. The hosts were responsive and kind. I definitely will be returning if they will have me. The Mt Hood area is amazing. Little Crater Lake is nearby and worth it!

This place was amazing! The barn was especially nice because we were traveling to Crater Lake. (Hwy 26 is a nice way to get there! ) The barn had everything we needed to cook food, shower and hang out so we didn’t have to unload everything. It made it very easy to get back on the road. The property was beautiful and we were able to walk the dogs on the off leash trails in the evening and in the morning before we got back on the road which was great! The barn has clean showers and bathrooms too. The kitchen was stocked with everything you needed. The barn was a very cool open space that has a nice hang out vibe. Lots of stuff to do around Sandy too! I’ll definitely return ! Dog friendly and affordable!

We stayed at Turkey Tail on a busy holiday weekend and we would 100% come back! All sites were full but you’d never know it, as it was super peaceful! This place is perfect for us and our dogs and they loved to roam. The creek is perfect for a quick cool down. All the sites and porta potty’s are clean! Our site didn’t have grass but there is a small patch just across the road. Even with turkey tail being on the main road and close to the blue barn, it still felt secluded. We met Jeremy and he was super nice! We will definitely be back with our dogs and extended family! It’s a little slice of nature not far from home!
