Welcome to the Wild West Coast! Where the mountains meet the sea.
The campground is remotely located on private property and perfectly located for excursions to the Pacific Ocean, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, the Smith River National Recreation Area, and the Pacific Coast Ranges and mountain lakes such as the Devil's Punchbowl, Buck Lake, and Raspberry Lake.
Relax and free you mind while camping on 120+ acres of private property under starry skies with almost no light or noise pollution. You are not alone on the mountain as other people live here in the wild. You only have access to the campground and a nearby pond. A locked gate with code access. The road to get there is two and a half miles up the mountain, the first mile is paved and the other mile and a half is gravel. The road is maintained by the county and used daily by others that live and work here. In the surrounding area you can enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, surfing, beachcombing, birdwatching, and countless other outdoor activities. French Hill Trail is a few more miles up the mountain road.
The campsites have picnic tables and fire rings, and campers are provided with 5 gallons of potable water. An outdoor, COLD-water Artesian shower, out in the open mountain air with the wild things and an outhouse with a compost toilet are also provided. Bundles of firewood are available for an extra charge when you book your campsite.
The campsites are set within a deciduous and pine forest at about 1913 feet in elevation. There is a pond on the property, but its purpose is for wildlife habitat ONLY, so water activities are NOT allowed. NO swimming, NO fishing, NO boating, NO trapping, etc. The wild things live here!
The property owner has a dog, three cats, and a menagerie of yard birds such as turkeys, peacocks, guinea hens, chickens, ducks, geese, etc. They do make noise! Kirk has lived off-grid for over twenty years and holds a wealth of information about the Gasquet/Del Norte County area.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the property is that it has had documented Sasquatch encounters over the past twenty years that have been published in "Tribal Bigfoot" (D. Paulides 2009). Kirk can tell you about his experiences with this and other phenomena on the property.

BRYON'S ART
---One of the things you will notice when you look around the Camp - is ART - art on banners, window stickers and magnets. Barbara's son Bryon was the creator of this art, art that you may have seen at festivals or in stores or decorating yoga and spiritual Centers around the country.
Bryon shared this land with his mom until his death at the end of 2022, and she celebrates his life by sharing a small taste of his art with you.

Oh my! Just couldn’t ask for anything better. Jose and Carolyn are the nicest couple and the place is beautiful! Love the sound of the ocean and very short drive to a Kellogg Beach. Our truck and trailer is about 41 ft ling and with some careful backing, we fit in nicely to site #1. We look forward to staying again.

Lovely yurt in a beautiful RV / tiny home community. The yurt is across the street from the office and a 5 min walk/1 min drive to the bathrooms. It feels private and has a parking spot, picnic table and fire pit in the front. Inside, it has everything you need for a camping-like experience, and is very well-kept and clean. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for two nights and loved the quiet of the property’s location - we were able to appreciate the sounds of the river and birds the whole time. The meadow is peaceful and private, and the platform overlooking the river a great place to pitch our tent and enjoy tea overlooking the river. The camp’s name “Jade River” is not an exaggeration based on the gorgeous color of the water!

We had such a great time learning about the farm from Dar and getting to explore the adjacent redwood forest! He was a great host! And the sheep, goats, and ducks were awesome. Cedar Bloom is a true gem of an Oasis in what can be a pretty scruffy town. I have stayed here twice on motorcycle trips and it has been a perfect stop after a long ride. The river swimming hole is deep and refreshing and the sauna get super hot and looses up those sore muscles. There are warm showers and a communal kitchen too! The grounds are beautiful and filled with wildlife. Saw at least a dozen deer, woodpeckers, and heard two big horned owls duetting at night. The price is a little higher than most tent sites at lesser campgrounds, but the amenities more than make it worth while.

We had a wonderful time. Lots of space to pick from for setting up a tent, tea room was adorable, nice compost toilets and showers, beautiful river and lots of goodies in the shop. Also appreciated that the camp site is gated. Staff was helpful and friendly. The only thing that was annoying was the loud bikers zooming around, shooting off guns and fireworks the three nights we stayed. I don’t know how often that happens but it wouldn’t stop us from coming back.

Beautiful place, so relaxing, good for mind, body and soul. My husband and I loved the grounds, swimming areas and tea room as well as the little shop, I bought some awesome hippie jeans. Great sauna and outdoor showers with beautiful views. We stayed in our Van and it was so peaceful. People were righteous and awesome 👌.
