Welcome to Windy River Ranch! Escape to a private riverfront retreat designed for quiet, nature-filled getaways. Nestled along over 1,200 feet of pristine river frontage, this peaceful property offers multiple swimming and fishing holes, towering redwoods on the ridge above, and the soothing sound of the river flowing just steps from your tent. Your stay is set in a fully furnished riverfront canvas glamping tent, thoughtfully designed for comfort while keeping you immersed in the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Inside you’ll find a cozy queen bed, warm ambient lighting, an electric fireplace heater, and handcrafted rustic touches inspired by the surrounding forest. Step outside to enjoy a peaceful seating area and fire pit overlooking the river. Spend your days floating gentle stretches of water, fishing from the bank, or relaxing in one of the many quiet swimming holes along the property. In the evening, unwind beside the fire while the sound of the river and wind through the redwoods create the perfect backdrop for a slow, relaxing night. Guests also have access to a private privacy tent bathhouse, featuring a hot outdoor-style shower and composting toilet — perfect after a day spent exploring the river. The bathhouse is designed to feel simple, comfortable, and connected to the surrounding landscape. Fresh organic eggs from our chickens and seasonal organic produce from the garden and orchard may be available during your stay. Tubes are provided for floating the river and easy fishing access help make the most of warm summer days. The site includes access to water and power, while still maintaining the peaceful feeling of being tucked away in nature. Due to this being a working ranch with livestock and guardian dogs, no children or pets allowed. This is a working ranch with livestock and (people friendly) off-leash livestock guardian dogs that belong to the neighbors and guard the perimeter from predators 24/7. Out of respect for livestock and wildlife, please leave your furbabies home.

Riverfront Glamping

If you are looking at the photos and thinking “wow this looks really beautiful and peaceful and cozy”, all of the above are true! The site was clean, easy to get to, and functioned well. We even had a surprise visit from a river otter at sunset! It was magical and the hosts were very kind and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Loved every part of this sweet place. Kae was so wonderful showing me everything and making sure I was comfy. And what a bonus to have a dog to protect my tent and hang out with my the river. And the little swimming hole right out front is a dream. Highly recommend this cozy place.

Riverfront Glamping

I had the most amazing time at Kae and Alex‘s beautiful retreat. I was working in the area for a few days and it was really hard to leave the site to go to my gigs. I can hardly wait to go back and stay fully immersed. There are so many thoughtful touches to this space and I felt so cozy and relaxed. The tent is amazing, the water is perfection and the resident dog, River, was my closest companion for the whole trip. He is so sweet and such a good boy and he dutifully followed me around making sure I was safe. Any little sound of a critter rustling in the bushes and he made it known they weren’t welcome and is a true protective sheepdog. As a female solo camper I greatly appreciated his company. He is well trained and never messed with my food, even if I let a delicious plate sit for a couple minutes while I jumped up to grab something. The hot shower was AWESOME. 💦 The fire pit was great and easily managed with a good bundle of kindling. I don’t recommend bringing large trunks of wood unless you plan on breaking them down on site. It’s best to keep the fire small and low with the metal grate on top, feeding it as necessary for the warm glow & to keep any mosquitoes at bay. Already planning my next trip to Windy River Ranch. Thank you Kae & Alex for your fabulous hospitality!

Riverfront Glamping

This was the best little get away for us! We were warmly greeted by hosts Kae and Alex. What a lovely couple! Their spot is magical, private, cozy and so special. The glamping tent is adorable and so much thought went into all of the personal touches. The beautiful rug you step in to, the little electric fireplace, the flickering lanterns, the string lights around the top, the cute little rocking chair with a hand made blanket for your lap, The bookshelf stocked with cool old books and games and on top of the bookshelf a personally handwritten Happy Anniversary card for us!! They furnished some eggs from their chickens and even had a laminated picture of the "chicken of the day"! Miss Myrtle the chicken provided us breakfast :) There is a sweet resident guardian of the property, River the dog. He is a sweetie and enjoys popping by now and then to be sure we were doing ok. He even accompanied us on a trail walk before heading back home for his dinner. This was a wonderful time unplugged and cant recommend it enough!

We loved loved loved our experience at Kae’s riverfront camp! It was totally private, and the tent was so cozy and comfortable. The river was at our doorstep, and it was a great spot for swimming and relaxing tubing. The site was close to attractions like Brookings and a redwood hike, but we also were happy to just stay at the site and relax and hang out. We definitely plan to come back!

Glamp tent was super cute and comfortable. Shower set up was great. River view was beautifulll. Overall a very private spot. We loved spending our anniversary weekend here! They even left us card 😭💗 We will definitely return!

Spectacular Glamping

Riverfront Glamping

This glamping spot on the Winchuck River is spectacular! The privacy and connection with nature was estounding. The sounds of birds and the river was trully so relaxing. The bed was cozy, plenty of mood lighting, tubes to float the river, picnic table, fire pit, swimming holes and fresh eggs. The hosts were gracious and helpful. This place is a sweet treasure tucked into a beautiful coastal valley so close to Brookings and so many fabulous beaches.

Beautiful location and very kind hosts. They were so nice and friendly, and even gave us eggs for our travels! They provided us with tubes for tubing, and all the amenities of a home. My boyfriend and I felt very cozy and at home in this adorable tent!!

Perfect relaxing nature getaway

Riverfront Glamping

We absolutely loved staying at Kae’s place. It was so peaceful and relaxing hearing the river flowing while we slept at night. And the bed was super comfy!! The photos don’t do it justice..the river is so pristine and beautiful! Plus all the attention to detail in the tent like the electric fireplace and antiques were nice touches that added to our awesome experience. Kae was very responsive and answered any questions we had, gave us a quick walk through at check-in and respected our privacy the rest of our stay. Fresh eggs from her chickens were a nice surprise..and delicious. I wish we could have stayed longer and would love to stay again in the future. Thanks Kae!
