Coastal Forest Farm is a 13-acre family farm. The farm is complete with a seasonal pond, open pastures, and a forest. The forest includes ferns, a variety of mushrooms (please don't touch them unless you are knowledgable about mushrooms), flowers, and mossy-covered old-growth Sitka trees. At night you can hear the sounds of the ocean nearby and the frogs in the forest.Private, wooded area available for fully contained RVs, travel trailers, and campers. Hipcampers MUST have own bathroom/toilet, there are no bathroom accommodations at site. Campers without a bathroom/toilet option may be asked to leave site without a refund. There is only 1 site, so it’s perfect for a peaceful getaway with beautiful large trees and coastal sunsets. The campsite is fully fenced to allow children and pets to roam safely.  This spot is also ideal for outdoor enthusiasts with Lake Earl Wildlife area (the largest freshwater coastal lagoon in California ) located across the street, Kellogg Beach and Tolowa Dunes State Park located within a couple of miles. The ocean’s close enough that you can hear the waves at night. Smith River and Jedidiah Smith Redwoods State Park are just a short 5-10 minute drive for hiking, fishing, swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, sunning, and other fresh water fun. So bring your kayaks, bikes, surfboards, walking shoes, hammocks, or anything else to enjoy all the beauty and adventure the Northern California Coast has to offer.

Allowed rigs: travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, pop-up campers, class A RVs, class B RVs, class C RVs, and campervans
Any self-contained RV (with bathroom, water, power, etc., needed for camping) is welcome. This is a "dry camping" site, there are no amenities at the RV site. The campsite accommodates one RV. It can also accommodate two smaller (24 foot or smaller) RVs traveling together.
Pull-in site
Enter the site from the north. Drive south on Lower Lake Road until you reach the entrance at Milepost 1.82. The area is large enough to turn around.

What a lovely way to explore the Redwoods! Vanessa was the kindest host, my son absolutely loved meeting the farm animals. The campsite was great and felt very private.

Just can’t decide what I liked the best, my dogs being free to hang out in our space off leash or the perfect placement of the hammock (which I had a fabulous nap in) maybe the fire pit and all the wood right there. Or maybe that it was such a pretty spot or that it was very level but I think Vanessa’s kindness top even all the above. Truly a magical spot that I hope to visit again soon.

What a sweet spot! pretty, open site with lots of grassy shrubs and bushes. Just comfortable and beautiful. Nice fire pit. Fully fenced so the puppy could wander. Just a perfect site for us. And then the next morning drove just a couple miles to Kellogg Beach… and what a fabulous beach. Wide open, no people , spectacular. So a camp site not to miss!

This site provided us ample space for our kids to run around in a beautiful setting. Close to beaches and the Redwoods state park, it was a great find. Plenty of space to turn around our 30’ trailer camper and a level site. Our hosts were kind enough to leave us enough firewood to last several days with plenty to spare.

Cute little camping area next to farm pasture with cows and chickens. The camp are is totally fenced so my dog was able to be off leash and run around. Nice fire pit with chairs, a picnic table and a notice board with list of things to do in the area.

We loved the campsite! It was fully enclosed so our dog could explore off leash, with plenty of room to roam. Picnic table was very clean and the fire pit was amazing! Bring your own firewood to get things started and then use the plentiful limb cuttings provided on the grounds. These were a bit wet but burned fine once we had a good fire going. We love the beach/sand dunes walk and Smith River walk. The neighboring property had the most beautiful animals too. Will definitely be back as this was one of the best camping experiences we have had when taking our dog.

Beautiful campsite and very responsive/kind host. Close to a lot of activities and things to do. Our 35 ft trailer was a snug fit in turning around but we were able to make it work and had so much space for our dogs to run and explore within the safety on the fence. We even got to feed/pet the highland cattle and mini horses on our last day which just topped off the trip for my daughter and I. ❤️

I absolutely love this Hipcamp! It's so private (you have your own driveway and gate) and feels very safe. Surrounded by trees and farmland. Lots of cute little amenities to enjoy while there. The ground is level enough that you can just pull right in and set up. The host is very kind and responsive. Also, I think there's an owl that lives here, and he was a joy to listen to. Highly recommend.

Coastal Forest Farm Camp is a wonderful spot with really great hosts. Nestled not far from the ocean (an easy bike ride), the Redwoods and Crescent City it was a wonderful base camp for a lot of exploration, hiking and relaxation. It was exactly what my wife and I were hoping for as the last camp trip of the season. We highly recommend.

Well appointed private area. Nice to have a picnic table and a trash can. We only saw three cows somewhat close to the fence as they chomped. Luckily, the roosters didn’t start their cockle-doodle-doing until 7am. 🤣 My only negative comment was that the site is right by the road so we could hear traffic until 9pm. Very close to the Redwoods (which was our main reason for coming to this area) and close to the dunes/beach. Great HipCamp for people with children and dogs.

Especially nice if you have dogs with fenced area and gate. Site is next to road thus some traffic noise but pretty quiet at night. Roosters at the crack of dawn. Was surprised by the substantial increase in cost which my alter our plans in the future.

Fantastic private camping site! Fully fenced in with plenty of room, trees, great fire pit, 3-min drive from Kellogg beach which our dog loved, and only neighbors were the friendliest Highland cows ever! Loved feeding them berries.

An excellent site and a very nice stay. Great privacy with a ton of space to maneuver the RV, and some really thoughtful touches like extra oil refills for the bug repellant candle and local recommendations. My boys loved making new cow friends, and I loved the firewood that was ready to go as soon as we pulled in.

Easy access. Private location in the woods next to their little farm. It's not located right on the coast, so we were protected from the gale force winds happening the weekend we stayed there. Rustic/basic site (picnic table, fire pit, trash can) but that worked fine for us.

After a week and a half on the coast at mainly state and county park campgrounds, this was like having the best campsite in the area all to yourself. Vanessa and husband were super nice and also ensured our little girls got to say hi to the animals. The beach is close, quiet, and very enjoyable. Great spot for a family.

Perfect, private, primitive, meadow in the woods, with only one spot it'll be hard to get, but only those of us that travel like turtles will appreciate the sparseness and still need thankful for the table and chairs.

The camp site was great! What a luxury to let the dogs roam free. Paths were mowed in order to walk loops around the fenced area. We didn't see any poison oak either, so the kids could roam free too. We were glad to have bug spray. The mosquitoes were at a medium. Not the worse we've had at a campsite but would have been an issue without layers & spray. The road is right there, but not a lot of traffic. Smaller dogs could probably for through the fences. Campsite had thoughtful amenities.
