Coastal Forest Farm is a 13-acre family farm. The farm is complete with a seasonal pond, open pastures, and a forest. The forest includes ferns, a variety of mushrooms (please don't touch them unless you are knowledgable about mushrooms), flowers, and mossy-covered old-growth Sitka trees. At night you can hear the sounds of the ocean nearby and the frogs in the forest.Private, wooded area available for fully contained RVs, travel trailers, and campers. Hipcampers MUST have own bathroom/toilet, there are no bathroom accommodations at site. Campers without a bathroom/toilet option may be asked to leave site without a refund. There is only 1 site, so it’s perfect for a peaceful getaway with beautiful large trees and coastal sunsets. The campsite is fully fenced to allow children and pets to roam safely.  This spot is also ideal for outdoor enthusiasts with Lake Earl Wildlife area (the largest freshwater coastal lagoon in California ) located across the street, Kellogg Beach and Tolowa Dunes State Park located within a couple of miles. The ocean’s close enough that you can hear the waves at night. Smith River and Jedidiah Smith Redwoods State Park are just a short 5-10 minute drive for hiking, fishing, swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, sunning, and other fresh water fun. So bring your kayaks, bikes, surfboards, walking shoes, hammocks, or anything else to enjoy all the beauty and adventure the Northern California Coast has to offer.

Private, wooded area available for fully contained RVs, travel trailers, and campers. Hipcampers MUST have own bathroom/toilet, there are no bathroom accommodations at site. Campers without a bathroom/toilet option may be asked to leave site without a refund. There is only 1 site, so it’s perfect for a peaceful getaway with beautiful large trees and coastal sunsets. I absolutely love this Hipcamp! It's so private (you have your own driveway and gate) and feels very safe. Surrounded by trees and farmland. Lots of cute little amenities to enjoy while there. The ground is level enough that you can just pull right in and set up. The host is very kind and responsive. Also, I think there's an owl that lives here, and he was a joy to listen to. Highly recommend.

Coastal Forest Farm Camp
Coastal Forest Farm Camp is a wonderful spot with really great hosts. Nestled not far from the ocean (an easy bike ride), the Redwoods and Crescent City it was a wonderful base camp for a lot of exploration, hiking and relaxation. It was exactly what my wife and I were hoping for as the last camp trip of the season. We highly recommend.

Well appointed private area. Nice to have a picnic table and a trash can. We only saw three cows somewhat close to the fence as they chomped. Luckily, the roosters didn’t start their cockle-doodle-doing until 7am. 🤣 My only negative comment was that the site is right by the road so we could hear traffic until 9pm. Very close to the Redwoods (which was our main reason for coming to this area) and close to the dunes/beach. Great HipCamp for people with children and dogs.

This was our third visit-looking forward to staying again. It’s the best place we’ve found for our dogs to run around and play-it’s fully fenced. Beautiful property and wonderful hosts!

Especially nice if you have dogs with fenced area and gate. Site is next to road thus some traffic noise but pretty quiet at night. Roosters at the crack of dawn. Was surprised by the substantial increase in cost which my alter our plans in the future.

Fantastic private camping site! Fully fenced in with plenty of room, trees, great fire pit, 3-min drive from Kellogg beach which our dog loved, and only neighbors were the friendliest Highland cows ever! Loved feeding them berries.

An excellent site and a very nice stay. Great privacy with a ton of space to maneuver the RV, and some really thoughtful touches like extra oil refills for the bug repellant candle and local recommendations. My boys loved making new cow friends, and I loved the firewood that was ready to go as soon as we pulled in.

Easy access. Private location in the woods next to their little farm. It's not located right on the coast, so we were protected from the gale force winds happening the weekend we stayed there. Rustic/basic site (picnic table, fire pit, trash can) but that worked fine for us.

Coastal Forest Farm Camp
After a week and a half on the coast at mainly state and county park campgrounds, this was like having the best campsite in the area all to yourself. Vanessa and husband were super nice and also ensured our little girls got to say hi to the animals. The beach is close, quiet, and very enjoyable. Great spot for a family.

Perfect, private, primitive, meadow in the woods, with only one spot it'll be hard to get, but only those of us that travel like turtles will appreciate the sparseness and still need thankful for the table and chairs.

The camp site was great! What a luxury to let the dogs roam free. Paths were mowed in order to walk loops around the fenced area. We didn't see any poison oak either, so the kids could roam free too. We were glad to have bug spray. The mosquitoes were at a medium. Not the worse we've had at a campsite but would have been an issue without layers & spray. The road is right there, but not a lot of traffic. Smaller dogs could probably for through the fences. Campsite had thoughtful amenities.

This is our second visit to this amazing property and we are looking forward to our next trip already. The only issue we had was with the high winds but that has nothing to do with the camp itself (of course). Thanks for having us!

This was our second trip to Vanessa's Hipcamp site. Our first visit was so great we decided on a return visit and weren't disappointed. Our dogs thoroughly enjoyed the freedom to run and explore in this large fenced and gated area. We will be making return visits in the future.

Great spot right next to the farm...mini horses and highland cows!!!! It was private and secure and we really couldn't ask for more!! Vanessa was very accommodating and welcoming!!!

My Girlfriend and I had an amazing couple of nights here! The camp site is pretty and has great shade available. There are some amazing hikes nearby and having a fully fenced area for our dog to explore was a huge boone. We definitely plan to visit again if we are ever in the area with dogs!

Pleasant country setting…reminded me of camping on our property as a kid…fire pit, picnic table, plenty of split wood…we got there late after a day on the road and a couple hours walking at Jedediah Smith Redwood Forest (very nearby) so we didn’t get to take full advantage of the site…but it was perfect for us.

This is an absolutely amazing Hipcamp spot-now a favorite and we will definitely return. It is an RV only location (no bathroom facilities or water available) but we are self-sufficient tent campers with a mini porta-potty and we carry way too much water. We had a fantastic time-our dogs enjoyed it the most I think-they finally got to run around untethered! The large site is almost fully fenced but we did have to block access to the entrance gate. Our mini-Aussie would have run right under it and our Rottie would have tried! They (and we) loved seeing the farm animals come to the fence for a visit. We also loved the fire pit and super comfy chairs. The only issue I personally had was road noise (I’m way too sensitive) as it is located directly off a slightly busy road. Overall a wonderful trip. Highly recommended if you are self-contained!

What a beautiful, peaceful spot! Vanessa was communicative and helpful prior to our arrival, and instructions for arrival were very clear. The space is a nice distance from the owner's property so it feels private, yet with so much space to enjoy. The highland cow was quietly munching on grass in the distance when we arrived, made it moody and enchanting. Nice stockpile of dry wood for us to use, as well as a helpful message board with suggestions for local adventuring. The fencing around the camp is very secure for anyone bringing their dog, and the farm animals are far enough away that even an anxious dog should be just fine. All in all, could not recommend this place more. Book here and enjoy the proximity of the coast with the enchantment of a peaceful wooded farm setting. The additional cost to stay here over the cost of a larger public campground is WELL worth it!

A great place to spend some time. We especially liked the huge fenced area that allowed our dogs to run and explore. The main area is a large open place for a camper or tent. Toward the back is a beautiful wooded area. Vanessa was a wonderful host and told us about her interesting collection of farm animals and some of there planned improvements. The area is very well kept and clean. You can even hear the sound of the ocean nearby. Highly recommended .
