Come stay at Middle Fork Camp: two acres of grass and eleven acres of wooded hillside overlooking a valley meadow in the Daniel Boone National Forest region. Just forty minutes from the Red River Gorge and past homesite of pioneer settlers, the property features an outdoor kitchen, potable spring water, an outdoor shower, WiFi, and 110V and RV-type electric outlets. There is a yoga deck, picnic table, and wood benches with stone ring fireplaces for your use. Help yourself to vegetables from the veggie patch in season!
There are ample hiking and trail running opportunities from the site, starting right behind the (private) A-frame cabin, up and over the limestone cliffs or out the gravel road. I have established hiking/running trail loops to scenic points ranging from 1 - 15 miles in length and will be happy to provide detailed information, including GPS tracks upon request. Enjoy!
Note: Camp Middle Fork is a true nature area: in season there are ticks, you may see a snake, and common to this region, there is poison ivy in the woods. If you are sensitive, dress accordingly.

We used this spot as a home base for our yearly hunting trip. It was perfect for what we needed. Everyone on the farm was friendly and welcoming! You’ll get to know the horses and cats as they wander around the farm and sometimes come up to you to say hello. The cabin was a great common area and place to wind down after a long day of being out in the woods.

I arrived after dark but Barts directions got me right to the property no problem! I woke up to a beautiful view. We enjoyed staying at Camp Middle Fork. It was peaceful and relaxing. Bart was super nice and met us upon arrival to show us around. I messaged to ask questions before we booked and he was very quick to respond. We asked for the furthest spot and he made sure there was fire wood already by the pit. There was some cut and stacked that we were able to grab anytime as well. The outhouse was clean and smelled of cedar. We stayed mostly at our site but the outdoor kitchen wasn’t far if we needed it.

Bart and his family have a nice set up in the hills of Irvine. Me and my kids enjoyed hiking the trails and walking through the creek. It was a peaceful get away. As other reviewers mention, there’s poison ivy around the trails as there is in much of Kentucky, so just be mindful of where you walk.
