Savvy's Retreat
We had a wonderful experience and a much needed peaceful getaway! Our hosts thought of everything and were very attentive. We had the best of both worlds with access to WiFi, electric, water and the experience of being deep in the woods and immersed in nature. We are looking forward to another trip in the fall when the leaves change. I highly recommend this private campsite for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat!

Everything from when I made the reservations to pulling out of the camping spot this morning was perfect. Site is beautiful, full hookup for 30 or 50 amp, great firewood waiting for you, a dog run if needed and the bench and hammocks were a delight. While we were there we were able to cycle in Lexington, hike several trails in Berea and kayak at the Red River Gorge. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here and enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

Savvy's Retreat
Savvy’s Retreat was exactly what we were looking for in a weekend getaway. Private and serene, this site offered all the amenities! Navigation was easy, and we received suggestions for hiking from our hosts. Everything was clean and welcoming. We will be visiting again!

We had a wonderful stay at Savvy Retreat! Cristhian and Christy have thought of EVERYTHING! The pavilion made setting up our camper while it rained a breeze. From lots of games, to hammocks, firewood, and even a dog run; they made our stay relaxing and comfortable. The bathroom is very clean, and well thought out. Communication was extremely prompt, and we had zero issues during our stay. Can’t recommend enough, and hope to come back!

Because we are from Asheville, NC, and not being able to return home due to the hurricane damage there, we are currently in southern Indiana. I contacted Savvy’s and canceled the reservation, as we will have to travel I-63 east into West Virginia to catch I-77 to go south to get to I-26 in South Carolina so we can access a southern route to home. As it would cost me more to that far south of I-64 to get the campground than the would gas cost with needing to drive back north to I-64, I told them that I would be happy to go ahead and pay them the cost of the reservation, as I thought that they might not be able to get another reservation at this late date, or at least pay them any money that HipCamp charges them. They said that they would not charge me anything! Great people like this make me more than likely to seek out HipCamp sites in the future and I will definitely recommend HipCamp the all my friends.

Such wonderful hosts. Everything was perfectly prepared for our arrival, wonderful communication and we just absolutely loved our visit. The shelter is idea if you want to stay out of the sun, rain or snow. We would love to visit again and has been listed as one of our favs. Very private and peaceful.

Savvy's Retreat
I can’t say anything negative about the hosts and how amazing they were.
We unfortunately had a break down on the way to the site and had to cancel our trip an hour before we were supposed to arrive. Cristhian and Christy were extremely understanding and refunded our stay. They were very thoughtful and kept in touch with us through the next day.
We WILL be camping at the site in the future!

Savvy’s Retreat was perfect! We had a very rainy weekend and it would have been a bad time in a typical camp site, but the shelter is huge and fabulous, so we were set. We appreciated the WiFi, water, electricity, and private bathroom. It was incredibly peaceful. Be warned that the roads to savvy’s are one lane/narrow/no shoulder and we just prayed no one was coming the other way even though our rig is on the small side (Tacoma+teardrop). The terrain is very hilly too, so if you’re towing near your capacity it may be rough, especially the uphill stops at intersections.

Had a great weekend at Savvy’s Retreat. It was very private and cozy area. The space was clean and well kept. We really needed a quaint weekend getaway spot where we could decompress and enjoy nature. This was the perfect spot to do it. All the amenities we needed, and it fit our 38’ bumper pull camper nicely. We were a little nervous about the length but we exited with no problems. We had 13’ clearance during entering and exiting too (in case you have a bigger rig and are looking for a comparison). The fire pit was so peaceful and was well kept too. Perfect stay!

SECLUDED! Love love loved the property. There are some narrow roads once you leave the highway but very manageable if you take your time. Pulling up to pavilion is a breeze and the building was a blessing since it rained a bit every day of our trip. The nights at the fire pit were quite but the sounds of the critters around especially the Barred Owls. Host's kept in contact via the service and made a suggestion for hiking. It's a little farther from the distilleries we visited than I thought but the camping experience was worth the extra drive. Hope to stay again!

Cristhian & Christy were fantastic hosts. They reached out in advance to make sure we were aware of the rainy weather coming into the area so we could plan accordingly. Our gracious hosts also reached out a couple times during the week to check on us, making sure we were enjoying ourselves and offered their expertise on local points of interest. This site is very private and well off the beaten path. We saw/heard 5-7 cars in the entire week that we stayed. This place is unique in that you park under a large overhang so rainy weather was no big deal. The shelter kept the rain off us and our rig and it also housed a stand-alone bathroom and a nearby food prep area. We enjoyed the full hookups which easily accommodated our 33 foot 5th wheel. We visited several points of interest in the area but mainly enjoyed hanging out at this beautiful site. It’s tucked in the woods and only thing you hear are birds in the morning and crickets at night. Two hammocks and a very nicely landscaped fire ring created perfect opportunities to unwind and disconnect. Our AT&T service was decent but the on-site WiFi made all the difference. I loved having the opportunity to absorb all this natural beauty while still watching my baseball team via streaming. We live in a downtown loft so our Bernedoodle was in absolute heaven and just enjoyed laying in the outdoors and taking in all that nature could provide. This was our kind of place and we very much look forward to a return trip in the future.

I loved this spot! Spacious, secluded and lots of amenities. Extremely clean bathroom with a nice deep sink. I was going to stay for two nights but unfortunately had to leave the second day because I was called into work but Cristhian was very understanding and gave me a refund. I wish I could have stayed longer! This would be a bird watchers paradise. I heard so many kinds and a hummingbird even flew right up to my van! The hammocks were lovely and shaded. Definitely will not hesitate to book again if I’m in the area

Savvy’s Retreat is a beautiful, private camping site. Cristhian thinks of everything. The bathroom was clean, and the fire ring had a lovely bench and swing to sit on. Cristhian also provides hammocks, games, and a clothesline to hook the dogs to. Excellent place to relax!

This was a wonderful camp site. My mother who is in a wheelchair was able to relatively easily use her electric wheelchair on the gravel pad With limited assistance. She is somewhat ambulatory, so was able to use the restroom with some assistance. This would be an amazing site for a family get together as you could easily fit multiple vehicles and set up tents as well if needed everything was absolutely wonderful and The host, Cristhian, was very communicative prior to our arrival. If we are in the area again, we would definitely return.
Also, there are so many amenities at this location that there’s no way for me to list them all. For example, there’s a dog run set up between the trees, multiple hammocks, plenty of games, firewood, and modern conveniences that would not normally be found at the campsite… At least not in my experience.

This is a wonderful site! I am handicapped and my mechanical wheelchair was able to negotiate the gravel areas relatively well. My daughter and I truly enjoyed our time here. The large beautiful wooded site is ideal for a quiet get-away or family fun and games. Everything you need for a relaxing time is provided. The covered rv parking, and bathroom (sink and flush toilet) are just the beginning…picnic table, swing, fire pit, grill, hammocks, outdoor games and tabletop/card/etc games all make the adventure complete. They even have a dog run and they supply firewood. I can envision a family retreat with all generations at this site!

The area was clean, nice and quiet. There was plenty of room under the shelter for our car and our tent, and the bathroom was a perfect touch. My husband, myself and our two dogs enjoyed our stay immensely and were sad we could only stay one night.

Cristhian was a great host. I love how things were thought of for us before we arrived. They made sure there was dry wood and lights were on ready for us to arrive at anytime.
The site is perfect and just as it is described. It is very peaceful and birds chirping with a great breeze under the shade.
Having our tent under the pavilion was a plus especially for the bad weather that came rolling in. But we were prepared. Cristhian kept in touch and updated us on the weather.
Staying here was a great getaway for us and having the simple amenities made it a glamping experience. Metal table to cook on, picnic table to eat at, bathroom with a big deep sink, electrical outlets on every post with lights switches to control each section of the pavilion and a big fire pit with nice seating.
We definitely would recommend Savvy’s Retreat to anyone and would love to stay here again.

I would rename this one The Long and Winding Road! Beautiful drive at the end of our day ended at a surprisingly awesome site. Simple and well thought out camp site - one of the best Hip Camp sites we’ve stayed at. Generously spacious RV shelter with a bathroom! Campfire with well stocked wood. Private. Easy pull-thru site.
We were in a small Sprinter Van and I think a bigger trailer would be a bit intimidating to drive the 5 or 6 mile narrow twisty road. For us it was perfect.

My family of 6 plus our dog loved staying the night on Cristhian's land on our way to Illinois to visit family. In fact we stayed again at Savvy's Retreat one night on our way back home. It was the perfect place to relax after a long day of driving. My kids loved roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. My husband and I appreciated having the bathroom and sink and all the hookups. The covered pavilion was so helpful on our second stay because it kept all the rain off of our RV and us! Our dog loved all the space to stretch her legs and retrieve her ball. The land is beautiful. And Cristhian was such a good host checking in with us to make sure we arrived safely. The campsite was incredibly clean and organized as well. We will most certainly return on our next trip to visit family in Illinois!!
