Very friendly people, would definitely recommend it’s not the most private place in the world but it is well kept with lots of animals to listen to.
Booking was easy. We ended up not staying due to weather, but it seemed like a nice place!
A good overnight stop on our trip from Virginia to Missouri. Pulling in after dark I wasn't 100% sure we were heading to the right spot, but we made it without issue. We were the only ones there and there was plenty of space for our small, off road camper. As the listing said, inexpensive and well maintained portable restroom (kind of a combination of a port-a-jon and pit toilet). Host was accommodating.

My girlfriend and I absolutely loved our stay. Everything was so well thought out, from the adorable interior decor to the sitting area outside the camper which we made great use out of. The camper seats conveniently convert into a bed and was the perfect amount of space for the two of us. The views are breathtaking and perfect for enjoying by the fire pit outside. Natalie was super attentive and came to our rescue anytime we needed anything. We were sure to stop by the Cookie Jukebox for a sweet delicious treat. We will surely be back next time we stop by Winchester.
Very cute stay. The night alone with the fireflies is worth it. Slept great in the camper as well.
We stayed the night and it was lovely, easy to fall asleep and the hosts were great.

I loved this campsite! The atmosphere was breathtaking. Your on top of a huge hill that overlooks the entire neighborhood of small farms. There was a train you could hear in the distance but I felt it added to the experience. I felt like I was nestled in a beautiful nook of the countryside. I highly recommend!

It’s always a great experience camping at this spot!
The idea was cool but there is a busy train track less than a quarter mile away that made for sleepless nights. Even on Sunday, it came through around 4 or 5am every morning. We slept with earplugs and still woke up to it.
The picnic bench, swing, and view were nice. We loved the neighbor sheep down the road.
It was cozy little place to stay over while we were in the area. Very conveniently located to all the sites we wanted to see. We unfortunately didn't get to check out the cookie camper, because they were not open. So do not make my mistake and pay attention to the hours of operation! Checking in and out were super easy and everything was clean and well maintained. I would stay again and recommend to a friend. 💛
The Friends camper is so cute and cozy! Loved the views. Felt very private. Can't wait to go back.

Lovely, well-kept, and affordable little backyard campground with fun themes for each site. Morning views were very much worth leaving my tent’s rainfly open and letting in the unexpected fog and dew :)
The location of the campground is very close to a small town, but it felt much quieter and more remote than that considering the expanse of farmland around.
If I am ever back in town (which I really hope to be), I would love to come back!
The tent camping on top of the hill was absolutely perfect! Loved the views waking up every morning and the gentle mooing from the cows. Natalie and her husband supplied me with more than enough firewood (that burnt very well) for the couple cold nights and the cookie shack was an awesome added bonus. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting the river gorge area or visiting bourbon country as they’re both just a short drive.

Great communication! Cute environment. Stayed in our teardrop camper, so didn't use bathroom or shower provided. Totally recommend Harkness Edwards Winery not too far from there!
The space was as described, complete with howling coyotes, raccoons the size of small toddlers and severed heads (not real!) on sticks at one site that was adjacent to us that starkly contrasted with the theme of Happy Days…. but we did leave in a bit of a daze after a cold night spent sleeping here under the stars! Bonus points for the beautiful yellow fungi growing out of the picnic table and traffic/train sounds throughout the night 🥴

This little mom-and-pop campground was an absolute gem and the perfect place for my son’s very first camping adventure. From the moment we pulled in, it felt welcoming — quiet, clean, and full of small-town charm. You can tell the owners truly care about their guests and take pride in keeping the place beautiful and family-friendly.
The campsite itself was just right — well-spaced, tidy, and surrounded by peaceful scenery. My son loved exploring the area, helping set up the tent, and roasting marshmallows by the fire. At night, the stars were bright and clear, and in the morning we woke up to birds singing and the smell of the woods — it felt like stepping back to simpler times.
And I have to mention the cute little cookie shop out front — what a treat! It added such a special touch to the whole experience. We stopped in for a few cookies before heading home, and it was the sweetest way to end our trip.
If you’re looking for a place that feels personal, peaceful, and run with genuine heart, this is it. We’ll definitely be coming back for another weekend under the stars.

My first Hipcamp experience, not my last. Natalie was very responsive, which was fabulous, since I erased the address on my email....eek! I arrived in the rainy darkness but convenient luminescent signs directed me to my campsite easily. Beautiful and quiet, lulled by crickets, I passed a lovely night in this affordable convenient waystation. THanks Natalie!
Ps, there are a few train sounds, but I like trains.

We had a lovely stay. The camper was super cute. It was super easy to check in and out, and Natalie was extremely responsive. Close enough to town to find food or necessities if needed. Would recommend.
The place was fine, and the portable toilet was okay, especially after finding out that the nearby national park was closed.
Great little campground. Not too far from the highway but feels like "in the country". Beautiful views. I tent camped and it was a good spot. The themed campers look really cute and each is in a relatively private area. Primitive shower and bathroom but definitely a good value for the $.
