The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

The property has been in my family since the early 1930s. the old homestead was my Great Grandparents, it still standing and I currently under demo once complete we are building a small cabin The old barn is now where most of the birds roost. The Greasy Skillet is now a big chicken coop. during hurricane Michael a big tree uprooted and up-rooted the concrete slab with it. What is now my home was my grandparent's house. I renovated some of it and moved in after the loss of my grandma. We are a WORKING FARM You will see and hear all the farm sounds! You can pet the goats . You never know their might even be baby goat to hold and bottle feed. There are chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowl, quail and turkeys galore. We now have Peacocks!!! We also have 4 BIG PIG that love ear scratches. We offer farm tours!!! There are livestock guardian dogs that protect the farm. They sleep lots during the day and patrol at night so they bark lots at night... We are a REAL WORKING FARM. You can join in on morning feeding or collet eggs. You can watch or help with morning milking! If you are real adventurous you can help around the farm!!! You can pitch you tent in the pine forest or in the open area next to the ponds! We make and sell homemade cheeses. Please check out our Farm Store ! We are conveniently located off of I-10 and hwy 231. We have numerus Florida State Parks within minutes of our location! The hosts were fantastically helpful and welcoming. They hooked us up with a great kayaking trip down the Santa Fe. The site is beautiful and quiet with all the amenities needed and so many thoughtful additional touches. We only stayed 2 nights and are already talking about coming back & staying longer next time. Bowman's is a true slice of old Florida.

I loved staying here. It is really spacious and nice. The horses are lovely. There’s a portable toilet and a nice shower with hot water. The host is really friendly and always willing to help. I would definitely recommend.

Absolutely obsessed with this place! Our stay was very peaceful and easy, we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back. We loved the setup of the property, it felt very comfortable and open yet still private and serene. There was a few bees at some point so just make sure you bring bee repellent but other than that Allie was a great host and provided us with ample firewood. The pond wasn’t full during our stay unfortunately but the trees/nature still provided beautiful views. We will definitely be back 😍

We only stayed overnight at Kim’s property but it was a nice private campsite on the river with a firepit and picnic table. It’s far away from city lights so you get to see the stars! A perfect place if you want to enjoy a peaceful time outdoors. It was easily accessible with our 20ft camper van. Might not be ideal for bigger rigs but perfect for vans, smaller trailers, or tent campers. We’ll definitely come back if we are in the area again.

This little A-frame and surrounding property is absolutely perfect!!! It rained while I was there, and I had the best sleep ever listening to the rain on the roof. Allie left a little note, and set up firewood for me. All the little details were so wonderful. I highly recommend!!!

Gayle’s horse farm is beautiful, clean, and safe . The property is spacious, secluded and gated. The amenities are: A very clean port potty that is cleaned very often and an outdoor shower that provides starry skies and hot water Gayle is very hands off, and respects privacy. I have been to quite a few places where the host could be a bit intrusive. It’s surrounded by swamp lands, where you can gaze at heals, eagles and owls as well as the occasional critter. About 15 minutes away from beach, casino, shopping and restaurants galore, yet tucked away from it all, in case you want to unwind . I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys peace and solitude with beautiful surroundings and safe environment Rudy D

Nice property and the people were very nice over the phone I arrived late and had to leave early for work so I didn't get a chance to meet them but well taken care of property and had what we needed. I did feel it may be a little pricey compared to other sites I've been too especially because I arrived late and left early I felt I paid a lot for 9 hours but that's my own fault for having a busy schedule I am glad it's same day bookings but it was far from where I work but the closet one to me with same day bookings I hate the 24 hour notice that most sites do so kudos there for sure thanks guys maybe sometime again soon I hope to stay longer next time.
