Weekend Trip to Forest Treasure Island

We had a great camping experience in the woods! The property is beautiful, with its own farm, garden, and cozy patios equipped with BBQ grills—perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. Even though we were switched from the Cabbage Tent to a regular tent, our host Diana went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Her hospitality truly made the stay memorable. Highly recommend!

3 nights at Moon In The Pond Farm

Our stay at Dom's Moon in the Pond farm was ideal. The cabin was cozy and comfortable while the screens successfully kept the bugs out. The property is bucolic with adorable cows, lambs, chickens, etc. We pre ordered the spicy sausage with fennel along with other farm fresh foods - which were delicious. It was the perfect home after a long day of swimming and hiking. Would definitely come again!

A little slice of heaven. So relaxing, lots of space. I went to minnewaska park near by. Loved sitting on swing watching fireflies at night and listening to the water to fall asleep. Thank you for sharing your beautiful space with us.

We had a great stay at the farm! We loved the location by the river. Just a note that there are neighboring houses and there was music coming from there - but overall it didn’t affect our overall stay and we still like we had a private area. It was easy to find the campsite and we would stay again!

We had a great time camping on Sarah’s land! What a great spot! It was easy to get to, but definitely felt private. Perfect setup to hang out, cook food and enjoy nature. Lots of benches, tables, a charcoal grill and a fire pit. Lots of space to explore as well. Highly recommend this camping spot.

Weekend Trip to Peconic River Campgrounds

Had a nice time camping at Peconic River Campground! It was simple, with a large field with people pulling up and camping all around, a medium amount of trees and a beautiful lake. Just don't expect privacy or to feel like you're in a rural area. Bathrooms are portapottie. It's good for an easy camping trip not a far drive from civilization. Tyler is very responsive and helpful. Not sure it was worth the price but its Long Island.

Quiet and rustic with all the basic amenities. Very simple to deal with the host.

This was a very private site with water and electrical hookups - perfect for testing out our RV chops as first-timers! Our dog appreciated being off-leash as well, a luxury he’s not typically afforded.

Had a great time camping at site one on Sarah’s property. The space is amazing, with one lawn panel after another next to the river. Allie especially loved the wide open space to run, chase her frisbee. And. She liked the morning eggs. Very peaceful, quiet. Bring a book, sit by the river, don’t check your emails. Sarah communicated throughout the process. Everything was fantastic. Thanks Sarah

They have a wooden platform for the tent, a fire circle, and a water jug. There’s a portapotty with a compost toilet that isn’t stinky because you fill it with sawdust. The hosts are very communicative and flexible about arrival times etc. Their property is beautiful. The lightning bugs are amazing!

Perfect for the large group camp out or the family site. The Lean-to is approximately 10'x9', large enough for a small tent or keep the picnic table in there for bad weather. Large or multiple tents no problem, put your tents in the wooded area where there is room for multiple tents. There is a fire pit area, picnic table, 4 outdoor chairs and corn hole that all are included with the site. A seasonal stream runs along the campsite giving you a nice bubbling brook sound. Welcome to Roots and Culture! We are a small, becoming site for Afroecology, located on ancestral and unceded Munsee Lenape land, now called Marlborough. We offer camping to guests who attend our pick-your-own days, wellness workshops, and community organizing events. We have tents, sleeping bags, and other gear available for rent and several group campsites available for tent camping. We have several gardens that produce fruits and vegetables May through November and are happy to offer garden tours and plant-based meals to guests by request. We always need help, so if you are willing to participate in a project during your stay, please indicate in your reservation. From weeding and turning compost, to planting trees and harvesting garlic, there are always a number of ways to add your energy to the farm. There is also a creek/swimming hole to enjoy on warmer days, especially after working in one of the gardens. There is a campfire space that all guests share and guests are allowed small private fires when the fire ban is not in effect. We do not currently provide bathroom facilities. We ask guests to use a modest compost toilet. Nearby are the Falcon (wonderful music venue), Marlborough Nature Trail, Marlborough Farm Trail, brewing companies and wineries, orchards, U-Picks, parks on the Hudson River, and 15 minutes to the many other hiking trails in the area.

We have great blue heron and eagles and otter and hawk and deer and owl and all sorts of critters and flora here with us. This is country. 53 miles north of NYC in the Croton-Harmon Watershed District. Learn more about this land: We are on the north side of Nimham Mountain, complete with its firetower to climb and see the Hudson River Valley and its 1126 acres of NYS DEC Multiple Use Area of mountain bike & equestrian & hiking trails. Some of the only petrogylphs on the east coast are a 2 minute drive and a hike from here to Hawk Rock. The largest effigy of Buddha in the western hemisphere is nearby at 2020 Route 301, Town of Kent, at the American Association of Buddhists headquarters and open to the public 9am - 5pm with its' temple, library, schools, meditation rooms, monastery, grounds to walk, Kwan Yin koi pool, and a free meal on weekends. The Appalachian Trail & Fahnestock State Park are both 20 minutes away, as are the Taconic Parkway or the Town of Southeast MetroNorth train station, or Danbury, CT, or The Great Swamp or Thunder Ridge in Patterson, NY, or the village of Pawling, NY. We are right on the edge of 1 mile, freshwater pond perfect for kayaking, sailboats, paddle boards, canoes, fishing (anyone over 12 needs a permit) and SWIMMING, with no motorboats allowed, except 5 HP electric. We are 20 minutes from Thunder Ridge Ski Slope and Paintball. Also 25 minutes from the Hudson River and the village of Cold Spring for access to Breakneck Ridge hiking, river kayaking, motor boating, river cruises, shoppes, restaurants, farmers' market on Saturdays 8:30am to 1pm at Boscobel, Hudson Valley Shakespeare in Garrison, & Philipstown Depot Theater & Garrison Art Center in Philipstown - just across the river from West Point, & More !
