You can comfortably enjoy your morning coffee and farm fresh egg breakfast on the covered outdoor kitchen deck on the table for two. Or head over by the fire pit with comfy adirondack chairs. The outdoor shower is sure to waken your senses with refreshing lukewarm water and get you ready for a day of exploring in the Hudson Valley or simply staying put at the Cabin with your favorite book. You will have your own free off-street parking spot. There is a camera facing the parking spot. It is the only one on the property. On the way to the cabin, you will see the porta-potty that is cleaned out weekly and sanitized between each guest. It is stocked with plenty of toilet paper, hand sanitizer, body wipes and sanitizing wipes! Our guests always rave that our porta-potty's are the cleanest they've ever seen. This getaway is perfect for those who are not convinced about camping in a tent just yet but are willing to test the waters in an actual cabin with windows, shades and a door! Nature is calling you but you'd rather sleep with the comfort of solid surroundings and air conditioning or heating. We get it! THIS is for you! So book your stay today....you will not regret it! When the temperatures drop, usually in November, we must turn off the water hose in order to preserve the hose and keep it from freezing. We provide water in 5 Gallon jugs for cleaning dishes and for personal hygiene. Please note, sometimes it gets so cold that the water freezes! During those times, we suggest bringing in water that you will use on a daily basis. You must bring in your own drinking water! We will provide you with a supply of paper plates, cups and plastic utensils! Water is typically turned back on in April. Winter camping adventure awaits! Staying at The Wasburn Cabin in winter months has proven to be an absolutely magical experience for hundreds of our guests. However, it does require a little extra planning and an understanding of winter in the Hudson Valley. Between November and April, the weather can have its extremes and does not allow for running water as the pipes will freeze and crack. Unfortunately, even leaving bottled water often just ends up being blocks of ice and not useable for our guests. We simply ask guests to bring in water during their stay to ensure a safe useable water source. We also ask guests to bring proper clothes. The insulated cabin does reach comfortable temperatures, however, extreme cold snaps can make it necessary to bundle up and cuddle with your main squeeze. If you are open to a little adventure and a little planning, come and enjoy our little oasis! If you are looking for high end amenities with hot showers and instant heat on demand, this is probably not for you and we suggest trying our outdoor experiences in warmer months. While we are located in a neighborhood, cell phone service can be spotty. We personally have not had any issues. We hope that once you arrive at the cabin, you’ll settle in and realize that disconnecting will help you reconnect to yourself! We offer limited wifi. Meaning, the signal may not be super strong but can help in getting you online to search the internet but may not be strong enough to stream. The Little Witch Cottage

The Little Witch Cottage is a rustic charming cottage from 1929 with timber framing and Catskill blue stone flooring. It sits in the middle of our yard about 200 feet from our more modern home. We have about 9 acres set back from the road. The cottage has a queen sized bed, dining table, and small kitchenette. The kitchenette has a mini fridge, dishes, and an induction stove top. We recently wired this vintage beauty to run on solar power and has an outhouse with a composting toilet, sink, and heated outdoor shower. Outside the cottage is a small garden, picnic table, fire pit, and chairs. Our land is mostly sloped fields that we are slowly turning into meadows full of native flowers and plants. There are mowed paths through the tall grass. This is perfect glamping spot, a mixture of comfort and nature. Privacy is key. Our rescue doggy Roxxie will undoubtedly stop over for a visit as our residence is about a hundred yards away nearby undetectable. You’ll hear some echos from traffic off the TSP but it sounds like wind or running water since there’s no commercial traffic allowed on that road.

When he wanted to sell his property he offered it to us for purchase at a fair price if we would not develop more than we needed to live here. We maintained the meadow adjacent to our property and have kept it as an agricultural site. We have had our son develop an edible forest garden and a unique diversified small orchard so we can eat and share healthy organic fruits and vegetables while helping our environment and wildlife and educating others to do the same. It is expensive to live in Newtown but we love our property. We want to teach others to grow food from their land while helping to support us keeping our adjacent property agricultural and undeveloped. Dog Friendly and Fully Fenced!! This rustic 600 square-foot cabin with a semi-private bedroom and a fold-out couch can comfortably sleep up to 4 adults. The bathroom and kitchen both have modern amenities. There's a wood stove but also electric heat and AC and hot water. Huge sliding glass doors open up to a wrap-around porch. No TV, but Wifi. There is an electric coffee pot, a French Press and a Nespresso. It sits on 5 wooded acres and nearly a full acre of cleared land is fenced, making it safe for dogs to run off leash. The house sits within the fenced in acre so you can conveniently open the doors and let your dogs run free. There is one visible house across the street from the front of the cabin but it feels very private in the back of the house. There is a firepit. There are two outbuildings onsite that are not available for rent at this time. The cabin is 20 mins from Minnewaska State Park and Mohonk Mountain House, and 35 mins from Kingston, New Paltz, Gardiner, Phonecia and Woodstock. Local restaurants of note include Mill and Main, Roughcut Brewing, Westwind Orchard, Arrowood Farms, and Harana. The Mountain Top @Wright's Farm

In our barn (now home to Gardiner Brewing Company) he had gravity fed water troughs for his cattle. Since then we have slowly switched from animals to tree fruit. You will enjoy rolling hills of fruit trees and fruit gardens along with beautiful views of the Shawangunk Mountain Ridge. We have 450+ acres so it in very private. As we are a working farm, you can see us driving pass with our tractors or maintaining the orchard around your campsite on occasion. You are welcome to ride your bikes, hike or jog where you will pass ponds and a working farm landscape. Please don’t pick our fruit. If you would like to enjoy the fruits of our labor please visit our farm store open year round on the premises where we sell cheeses, our fresh picked fruit and veggies, local meats, and our famous cider donuts along with other farm products. We also have a farm brewery open 3-7 in our old dairy barn for you to enjoy. Live music Saturdays and Sundays. Minnewaska State Park and Mohonk Reserve are only 10 minutes away. The rail trail is three minutes away. This trail gives you walking and biking access into New Paltz, where there is tons of restaurants and lots of shopping. Please be aware that during the months of September and October there may be a Pick-Your-Own customer or two walking around picking apples around the campsite area between the hours of 10:00-6:00. You are also welcome to come down to the farm market and purchase bags to pick your own apples in season.

Hickory Hollow

Welcome to Hickory Hollow! Located 7 minutes from the Town of Catskill, 25 minutes from Hudson, and just under the Catskill Mountains, Hickory Hollow is the perfect campsite to take full advantage of the Upper Hudson Valley. There are two campsites you can chose from, both in clearings that make for great star gazing. Camp 1 is deeper into the forest taking about two minutes to walk to from the parking area. Camp site 2 is only a one minute walk but much closer to the farm. If you are coming with a dog, I would recommend staying at Camp site 1, as the farms dogs are very vocal when there are new friends in the area. Each campsite comes with a fire pit, a grate for cooking, and a picnic table. There is parking provided and a composting outhouse. You will need to bring your own firewood, though there is plenty of available kindling. The property is 9 acres and I encourage guests to hike down to the stream and take a walk if they feel comfortable. If not there are so many hiking/swimming options nearby and I am happy to point you in the right direction. This property has a been a life long dream of mine, and is (in my opinion) the most beautiful place on earth. That being said there is a still a lot of work that I am doing since this is a very new endeavor. So please watch yourself if you do decide to stay. The Hollow is beautiful but also very steep, so please be careful while you walk the woods. Pets are welcome, but again, be safe. There is an abundance of wildlife in the Hollow (see if you can spot the porcupine) but that can be very distracting for dogs, so be cautious when letting them off lead. Now the property is used for your enjoyment and ours. As well as making hay. We have an 8-acre garden planted with rhubarb, raspberries, and berries on the farm too. We are located next to the Wallkill River which the campsite overlooks. We have 3 campsites available to choose from. Toilet available, campfires permitted, picnic table provided, pets welcome. Be advised we are a working farm so you will see woodpiles, machinery, such as tractors and other items sometimes hanging around.

The preserve land can be hiked, though there are not always paths. Macedonia and Kent Falls state parks are nearby by car, as well as an entrance to the Appalachian Trail just five minutes down the road. We are just six minutes away from the Tenmile River Metro North station and can pick you up with advance coordination. The town of Kent, Connecticut is a 7-minute drive and has lots of shops, dining, and an art gallery. The town of Amenia, New York is a 12-minute drive and has a drive-in movie theater, and some restaurants. Historic Downtown Wassaic is a 7-minute drive and is home to the Wassaic Project art gallery.

Catskills Forest Pondside Hideaway

With three private sites deep in the Catskills, this special land has a variety of mature trees, open meadows with ferns and dogwood stands, remnants of an old apple orchard, trails across old rock walls and mountain streams through gently sloping topography, and abundant birds, frogs, newts, and other wildlife. Plus one of the best swimming ponds in all of the Catskills! There are three sites: one tucked into a meadow in a forest clearing, another under a hemlock grove deeper in the woods, and a third reserved for Long Path thru-hikers who come down from the mountains for a break, which can also be overflow. All are off-grid and rustic but close enough to the house and parking area to have convenience, and far enough—and hidden out of view—to offer real privacy. (About a 4-minute walk from your shared toilet/supply/storage shed by driveway.) Tent area has cleared flat pads for two small tents. Location is far enough from things that you can walk a minute into the woods and feel lost to civilization, yet only two miles of paved road from downtown Windham and all that the cozy resort town has to offer. Makes a great basecamp for exploring the rest of the Northern Catskills, or a hideaway to stay and get lost in. Hike miles of trails and old logging roads in the Elm Ridge Wild Forest, starting literally steps from your campsite. Swim in the large spring-fed pond, or just watch the colorful koi swim. Sit around the fire and reflect on the day’s adventures. Or just take in the wide-open views of distant mountains and starry skies. Note: the only "Kitchen available" (Hipcamp's wording) is a grill over firepit. Also, toilet is a bucket-style dry composting toilet with urine diversion inside a protected shed. Camp site is a short hike along private trails from parking/shed area. Depending on weather/season, it's sometimes muddy.

You may not want to leave, but Onteora Lake in the Bluestone Wild Forest is great for hiking, swimming and boating. Our campsite is located only 5 minutes from Ashokan Reservoir where you can fish and boat. Bring your own camping gear or rent ours, the adventures are endless! Terrace Farm is a multi-generation farm on 160 wooded acres of Tremper Mountain located on the outskirts of the Hamlet of Phoenicia in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. World class fly fishing on the Esopus Creek, private hiking trail to overlooks of the Esopus Valley and historic rock quarries as well as several public hiking trails including the Long Path are all within walking distance. Also located within walking distance is the Hamlet of Phoenicia. We have three sites available. Beechwood at Terrace Farm is the quietest and the most secluded. This will accommodate six guests. Maplewood at Terrace Farm can accommodate eight guests. The Hemlocks at Terrace Farm is our largest site and can handle twelve guests.
