Well equipped site on a beautiful property. We traveled with a 6 and 3 year old. It is also very Dog friendly with dog runs and leads!

Well equipped and comfortable site. Lots of old logging trials and right along the river for fishing and swimming. It was too cold to swim in May but July or August would be great to wade in the river. The site is secluded so there’s plenty of privacy.

I absolutely had an amazing time on Paula's land. The place is set up amazingly, and Paula helped answer any question I may have had. The convenience that Paula provided for us made a quick birthday camping trip so successful! My kids had an absolute blast. They loved the scenery, fishing, and painting by the water. The stove in the tent was also a plus. We unfortunately ran out of wood early in the morning so we did end up getting really cold once it did, but we huddled together and tried to stay warm. Otherwise this trip went without a hitch. I honestly can't t wait to book again and stay a little longer and really explore the beautiful trails on the land. I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hucklebuck Railway East campsite. While I certainly would not quite call this campsite full on glamping, I would definitely say it that Paula provides all of the essentials to ensure you're comfortable (potable water for washing hands, pots/pans, soap, air mattress, chopped wood, flashlights, extra batteries, several different cooking stoves (charcoal, propane, over fire, etc.), and an outhouse with an eco "toilet" (a toilet seat over a painter's bucket with a compostable bag in it, which 100% gets the job done!). The wood-burning stove in the canvas tent truly saved us when the outdoor temperatures dipped down into the 40s at night. On our final day, the skies opened up and rained a bit...no problem, though, the campsite was mostly covered and none of our items got wet. Truly, this campsite was very well-planned and well-cared for. Paula was very responsive prior to our arrival and was very kind, informative, and welcoming. I would recommend this campsite to all of my friends and family and would certainly stay here again. Thank you, Paula!

The East campsite was fabulous, overlooking the river. The kids had great fun, and I could relax while keeping an eye on them. The site is well equipped with all what you need, and really comfortable. We will go back!

We had a great experience here! Everything was as described - fully loaded basically. Just show up with your food and some blankets, and you're good to go. Paula was a great host, and it was a great experience for my kids' first camping trip.

Paula and Bill have a beautiful property and the campsite was perfect. We had everything we needed or could have wanted and we only needed to bring blankets/sleeping bags, food, and clothing. We loved our hikes down to the river and played a lot in the water. The tent was super comfortable and we loved falling asleep as the rain gently fell. We can’t wait to come back!

We’ve come to this campsite a few times and every time it’s been wonderful. The location is so peaceful and quiet and we had all the necessary amenities. Paula was very responsive and helpful as always.

Overall I had a very nice time a few things to note that I would have liked one is the campsite was not very cleanly upon arrival they did not spend enough time cleaning it between patrons so that was a little disappointing the other thing is it was noted that it is an extremely quiet and remote spot however this particular spot had campers across the river which was not quiet at all I would have preferred the other site on the west side seems to be more remote and more spacious East Side did not have a lot of space the host were delightful and very responsive my favorite part of the experience was sleeping out in the wilderness with the cool summer air the rockiness of the campsite was a bit much for my dogs again they would have preferred the other campsite that was flatter and had some grass

A large and secluded camping site that was truly beautiful! It had all the amenities we were looking for -- a nice tent and a place to cook with a firepit. Lots of well maintained trails by the hosts that take you to a creek with a swimming hole. Perfect for a group of any size.

Loved staying here with our 2 families and 3 kids. The site was equipped as expected and hosts were extremely accommodating and communicative. Would stay here again and would definitely recommend.

We had so much fun camping at the Hucklebuck Railway Campsite! We were at Campsite West and it felt totally private and away from everything - the site is a 5 min-ish slow drive down a logging road from Paula and Bill's house and is entirely secluded. The kitchen was stocked with cooking pots, pans, and grill tongs (we brought our own plates and cutlery) and we had a great time cooking over the open fire, with lots of firewood provided. Bill and Paula were GREAT hosts - very responsive and Bill came right away whenever we had a question or needed some more propane. We were a group of four, and all four of us slept on the queen-air-bed-bunk-bed which was really fun.
Other that are useful to know:
- The last .25 mile is up a relatively steep rocky road, which our 4-wheel drives handled totally fine, which meant we could bring everything right up to the site.
- The property has lots of trails for little hikes and is right on the river - too shallow for swimming but we enjoyed wading in - bring water shoes!

My family arrived late, but our host was extremely accommodative and met us as soon as we got there. We had our host's son guide us to the parking and campsite, and he went above and beyond with the thorough tour about the tents, and cooking utensils. We also asked him about site seeing in NY, and he recommended many new areas we wouldn't have known otherwise.
The eating and cooking set up was great (lots of water, trash bin with lid, and had everything we needed). We were a large group so we had 2 tents and lots of bedding and pillows. The night was cold but we had a fireplace in one of the tents to keep us warm. I still recommend bringing a coat and a sleeping bag just in case. We also had a lot of food but we made sure to close the packaging / put them away and we didn't run into bears or hear any coyotes at any point of the night. Stars were much brighter and larger than in Jersey, but do note there's a lot of trees! The area was safe and quiet during our stay.
As for activities, the area has at least 2 trails and 2 sites for river / creek- there is a map. Not too long from the campsite is a diner as well. Everyone was so lovely, communicative, and involved. Really enjoyed the experience.

Beautiful, lush property and the most well-equipped campsite I’ve stayed at! Plenty of firewood, camp chairs, pots/pans, water, etc etc. PLUS - Paula and Bill couldn’t have been more helpful when I ran into car trouble and needed to coordinate a tow truck. Truly can’t thank them enough for the assistance. Highly recommend this site!

My husband, 2 friends, our dog Lola, and I had such a great time at Paula and William's campsite! They supplied so much for us, that we didn't have to bring a majority of our camping stuff! There was even a dog run right on the campsite, so Lola was able to freely roam without us worrying about her running away. It stormed our first night there, and the giant canopy that covers the table and kitchen area kept us all dry so we could still enjoy the outdoors. The campsite, outhouse, and both tents were very clean. Paula communicated with us before and during the trip to make sure that we had everything we needed. We will 100% come back to to camp at Hucklebuck Railway!

Staying at Hucklebuck was a delight !! The view from the East over the steam was lovely, and we enjoyed the trails around the property. The campsite was organized, well thought-out with all the essentials. We chose this site once we saw rain in the forecast and still wanted to enjoy the outdoors - the main area, kitchen area, and tents were all completely protected by rain tarps, and we stayed dry throughout.
Paula and Bill were welcome and gracious hosts that were happy to assist us how they could.

Hucklebuck Railway Campsite West
We had the loveliest time camping here. Paula and Bill have thought ahead to anticipate what their campers will need, and have stocked their campsite accordingly. When we needed it, it was there. The land is beautiful, burbling stream, a swimming hole to make memories in. Paula and Bill are always available if you have questions. The time spent at Hucklebuck will live on in our memories.

I had a great stay at Hucklebuck and I would recommend it as a place to visit. Paula and her husband were terrific hosts. Everything I needed was provided and they showed me around and explained how everything worked. It's perched right above the river which is beautiful. It's isolated which I appreciated. The area is gorgeous. It rained most of the night and I was comfortable and dry in the large canvas tent. Beautiful site and wonderful stay- I highly recommend.

What a gorgeous spot! The site was all set up with covered sitting area, tents and beds. They supplied extra water & firewood. Bill & Paula were very helpful and friendly. We loved walking the paths down to the little river. My dog especially enjoyed himself!

We had a wonderful time at Paula’s place. Our dog was thrilled to play around. The tents and dining areas were very comfortable. We also did a little hike around and spent most of the day near the water. Highly recommended!
