We're only 1.5 miles from a SECRET entrance to Fahnestock and the trailhead to Candlewood Hill, one of the park's most exquisite views.. Just 2.5 miles away is a main parking lot and the hub for several other hiking trails including Catfish Loop, Three Lakes, Old Mine Railroad and the famed Appalachian Trail. We can provide you with a trail map and help plan your hike. Swimming at Canopus Lake is only 7 miles away. Other Fahenstock activities include fishing, boat rentals, biking, and snowshoeing/x-country skiing in the winter.
Both the Glynwood Center for Regional Food and Farming and Stonecrop Gardens are only about 8 minutes away.
15 minutes to the west, poised on the Hudson River is the historic colonial town of Cold Spring, with shopping, lovely restaurants, plenty of natural attractions and a picturesque riverfront. 30 minutes northwest is the more bustling hipster vibe of Beacon with coffee shops and live music venues, and 20 minutes southeast puts you in the heart of downtown Peekskill with Hudson Valley MOCA and the Paramount Theater.

Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful. Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a bit of heaven.
There are separate sites to choose. Around the farm, you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be in a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided)
Our campsites are in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, others are on the edges of different farm fields, one a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars.
During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay.
We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam.
Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, gavel-road and country-road biking, and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away!
Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat!
Very nearby, as the Berkshires is a cultural mecca, there are also numerous opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more.
It's still amazingly quiet at the farm where the Milky Way is clearly visible.

Each tree is beautiful in its own way, but perhaps no trunk is better for squeezing than those in the 200-year old white pine grove in the Whittemore Recreation Area of the Peoples Forest.

On the day of arrival, you will receive another message to refresh your knowledge of how to use the campervan.
Close to the beach and sand, the city offers activities nearby so you won't have to go far to enjoy them. This campervan has all the qualities of a house, with the only difference being that you're on wheels—something truly delightful. I have two bicycles so you can take a ride along the bike path on the beach and enjoy the majestic scenery. A different way to have fun and experience something new. Outside the tent your area has a gas grill and picnic table, a camp box which contains pots pans, cooking utensils, paper plates, cups and more. A campbox inventory list is posted in the pictures. There is a fire pit with adirondack chairs, sit by the fire and roast Marshmallows we provide everything you need for smores including the sticks.
Bath towels and toiletries are provided there is a large shower with dressing room and a deluxe flushable Porta potty with a sink and paper towels on the property.

If your looking for seclusion with quick river access, surprisingly good reception to listen to tunes on Bluetooth and a site where you barely have to bring anything as everything you’ll need or want is supplied and set up for you then you’ll find it as delightful as I did. Paula and Bill the owners are also the best, they were most helpful in supplying their input on any questions I had. Will def be back, thank you guys

We had such a great stay in the east camp. Paula and Bill really have thought of everything and made our stay stress free. There were other campers at the west site but the property is so big we never ran into them and it was like having the whole place to ourselves. Looking forward to coming back!

We had a great stay! The tent setup was absolutely adorable and thoughtfully put together. It was definitely buggy during our visit, but we were grateful that extra bug spray was provided. The restroom facilities were a wonderful addition and were clean and well-maintained. The hill is no joke, but the listing describes it accurately, so we came prepared. One of the highlights was meeting Evan, Laura, and their beautuful goats and chickens. Overall, a unique and enjoyable experience!

Awesome site, lots of privacy! Convenient location with a stop and shop only 5 mins away if you need more supplies, however we still felt like we secluded from civilization when we were at the site. Wood was supplied free of charge. We left a day and a half early due to rain and Tiffany was kind enough to offer us a discounted rate for next time we come. Great host and great camp site!

This is a very beautiful campsite that is very accessible and a perfect experience for first time campers or anybody who just wants a relaxing getaway. There is a lovely trail up to the tent site, which is removed from the house and the road just enough to feel like you are out in the wild on your own. The tent itself is very comfortable filled with amenities. It’s like staying in a little hotel room. They have everything you need for camping. They even have a pretty fancy outhouse and shower situation. We didn’t get to visit the goats, but that was only because it was raining. I highly recommend this camping experience.!

Our experience at Heron on the Hill Glamping was incredible. The entire space is extremely charming, very well outfitted, and extremely welcoming. Activities abound! The host, Michelle, is extremely communicative, friendly, professional, and helpful both before our trip and during!
There's plenty to do for the entire family, the tents were cozy, and for all of the camping necessities, they're taken up many notches to facilitate a more comfortable camping-experience (heated shower? Flushing porta-potties? Where else do you get that, right?)

My family had a WONDERFUL stay at Two Herons Farm! Our baby daughter was delighted to interact with the sheep, goats, ponies, cows, chickens, guinea pigs, dogs, cat, and more!!! The farm was a great store with cool, local gifts. The cabin was really comfortable and private. The hosts, Molly and Diego, were incredibly generous and helpful. We were fortunate to tag along with Diego while he feed various animals, felt like a cool behind-the-scenes tour. We've stayed in dozens of Airbnbs/Hipcamps over the years, and this was by far our favorite. Highly recommend!!!

We had a wonderful time at Moon in the Pond Farm. Dom was so wonderful and helpful. The farm was beautiful and serene. We all loved waking up to see farm animals and have a rare opportunity to interact with them. But the icing on the cake was Chip the dog. He was hands down the coolest dog ever. We will definitely come back!

Weekend Trip to Luxury Camping at 'Higher Ground'
I took the train from NYC Grand Central and got to Evan and Laura’s by a quick Uber ride! It was so lovely, comfortable, everything provided. They were fabulous hosts and super accessible when needed. It was the perfect getaway from the city, very much separate and in the woods while not feeling too isolated, close to water, hiking. I actually walked/hiked back to the train and even the road itself is a beautiful journey. Everything was easy and I would highly recommend staying here!

I was so warmly welcomed upon arrival to Dr. Ivette's healing farm sanctuary. She kindly took the time showing me around the farm because I told her that I work with farmers! Evan & Laura have an amazing set up. They had great communication during our stay and in the week leading up. They checked in to see if we needed anything prior, including the propane heater, which in 30-something degree weather was an essential and extremely helpful. The site truly had anything you could ever need. We were extremely impressed and surprised by the outhouse with toilet, shower, and usb-c chargers(!) inside. Reading reviews beforehand were helpful and led us to pack lighter, given the steep climb up. But the climb was definitely worth it. We also loved how Evan showed us how the goats and chickens were fed. My pup definitely loved running up and down the hill to the site and marveled (sometimes a little too much lol) at the goats and chickens she was seeing for the first time! Evan was both kind and accommodating. Would definitely stay again!

Paula and her husband are kind, thoughtful, and helpful hosts! They were very quick to respond to our messages and were incredibly accommodating. I’d forgotten to pack cooking oil and Paula was generous enough to offer some of hers. This place has everything you need! If you enjoy birding this place has a variety of birds. Also, it was so cool to hear a great horned owl in the middle of the night.
We all had so much fun at their campsite - the perfect fall getaway. We’d love to visit again in the summer so we can enjoy the swimming holes and take advantage of the hiking trails!
