The 160 acre ranch was homesteaded by my grandfather over 100 years ago. There is signage that you can also follow. ** The plan was to use this property as summer grazing for his cattle. The cattle were wintered at the other ranch about 10 miles away, which was homesteaded by my great grandfather. Because my grandfather could survey, he made sure the property lines zigzaged up the valley so the small creek was in the middle to provide water for the animals. He chose well. It is a beautiful, quiet place with elk, deer and wild turkeys. There are tons of wild flowers in the summer. Columbines, the Colorado state flower, wild roses, paintbrushes and lots of wild chokecherries. With nice views of nearby mountains, open pastures, evergreen forests and aspen groves, it looks like it did 100 years ago. Plus, there are a couple of ponds for your dogs to cool off in. Since the first cattle, the ranch has also been home to goats, chickens, horses, and now more goats, alpacas and llamas. And of course the Great Pyrenees ranch dogs. I had a house built a few years ago and live on the property full time. The ranch is surrounded by Pike National Forest with the Colorado Trail connecting the property in a number of places. Some of the highest ranked mountain bike trails are nearby. There are lots of places on and off the property to hike, mountain bike and ride your horse. We had a blast at Glen Isle. Everything from camping to fishing to disc golf everything was fantastic. Hosts were amazing and the campsite was private and riverside. A great close getaway and a few days in paradise. Cute horses and donkeys as well. Best campsite we have been to all year. It’s the total package!

Weekend Trip to Glen Isle Resort

We had a fantastic experience there the weather was decent and a little bit cold at night if you stay down next to the river you should expect it to be about 10 to 15 degrees colder than the rest of the place because of the water. There were plenty of trees to hang your hammock on and plenty of space to put up a tent you could even go back into a more secluded area that was up against The Rock face back behind trees if you wanted. We had a great time we walked around we got a tour of the lodge which was really cool. And we went to the Sasquatch Outpost and Bailey as well several other places that were open it was really great time. We also went for a hike on the pain gulch trail which was very pretty very good views. I would highly recommend camping at this campground the only downside was the road traffic because of the highway right there could be a little loud at times but it didn't interfere with sleeping or anything else.

Weekend Trip to Bristlecone Camp Breckenridge

Great spot very high up on the mtn so you get really good views from the campsite. Very secluded from other campsites. Very rocky though so be sure to bring sleeping pads if you decide to tent camp. We had a great time up there.

We loved staying at Ren’s place! It was super easy to pull in and had convenient hook ups for water and electric. We loved the proximity to town too. It was only a short walk to the main strip of restaurants. Would definitely stay again!

This was amazing. The location felt remote but was easy to access and had so many amenities. It was easy to walk up the road and be right in national forest. The hiking maps in the bear box were just one of many little inclusions that will bring us back!

Such a fun spot to spend a weekend with kids who can run around playing ping pong, pool, hide and seek around the enormous property, etc. The road was loud at night even camping from the top but it was fine in the end. We had a blast!

No complaints! Beautiful sites right down by the river, can wake up and roll out of the tent and be fishing in a matter of minutes. At least during our stay, the traffic on the road across the river was quite light during the night and I didn't notice it while sleeping - I suppose if that really bothers you it could be an issue but for us it was totally fine and mostly covered up by the sound of the river.
