The camping space is a 1/3 acre field adjacent to a barn and barn-yard with goats and chickens who love to interact with people. It is 15 minutes from Red Rocks park / amphitheater and walking/biking distance to two scenic lakes/parks (Sloans lake and Crown Hill). Welcome to our charming 2-acre meadow nestled in East Boulder. Just minutes from town - near bike trails, shops and restaurants. A great pitstop on your way to or from the mountains - or base camp for the adventures in Front Range. We aren't fancy, but we are convenient, cozy and safe. Gate code will be provided 48 hours before arrival.
PLEASE NOTE: We are entering MOSQUITO SEASON!!! It isn't bad yet, but it will be. Our meadow is surrounded by wetlands. There is a short period in the spring where you MUST SEEK SHELTER INDOORS WHEN THE SUN IS SETTING else the mosquitos will carry off your firstborn child. NO JOKE... Consider yourself warned!!!
We have spots in the wide open meadow for Tents, Motorhomes, Vans, Trailers, and Rooftop setups. The grounds are a bit sloped but we've got leveling boards (please leave them behind).
We've got Boulder's best eggs, a few walking paths through tall wild grasses, a campfire ring, solar shower, small sink, gas grill, and a lovely porta-jon.
We can handle RVs up to 45 feet - truck and trailer. It’s a big field, but a narrow, winding and steep gravel ramp to get in and out.
We have a community fire pit with free burn wood, though the big logs are few and far between; your own firewood is recommended - as well as an ax or saw. If it's windy, please skip the fire... the BFD is very strict about this!!
We have well water feeding a solar shower (only hot when the sun shines) and sink (non potable unless you have a filter).
We have a wading / dog pool continually refreshed from the creek. It’s a saving grace in the summertime.
Please help yourself to eggs up at the coop - look for the Venmo QR. The chickens free range during the day, so please MIND YOUR DOG.

The Fourmile Creek runs through our property along our large lawn area. Great views and you might see bear, deer, elk, moose, foxes, or even a mountain lion!
Walk-in sites are just a short hike, about 100 feet, on an unmanicured trail to our platforms. We provide the platform for your tent as well as access to all of our lodge's amenities; front desk, lobby, bar & beer garden, fire pits, grills, bathrooms, shower, outdoor common areas, free wifi, etc.
A-Lodge has a 7-day non-refundable cancellation policy. If you cancel within 7 days of your arrival, 50% of the total is non-refundable.

Booked last minute and couldn't be happier! Just a small park spot that looked out onto flat land and mountains in the distance. The site was well maintained and the portapotty was clean.
Andy was super nice and accommodated me on very short notice.
I didnt get to utilize the fire pit or tables and chairs, but I would gladly visit again!
Just be aware the train tracks are riiiight there. I wasn't asleep yet for the first time and I was up early so the second didn't affect me. But it is loud!

Bonnie’s land is set up really well with multiple campsites in a peaceful meadow area. I stayed at Sideline, which was on the end, so I only had one neighbor. My 21' camper was easy to turn around in the meadow and I could pull right up to my spot without any trouble. The Russian olives were in bloom during my stay and smelled amazing. I’d definitely stay again!

This was an amazing stay. The farm has 4 generations of family history and was originally homesteaded in the 1800s. I felt so much peace here. It was perfect. We got to see an air battle between eagles and Hawks. We watched prairie dogs and rabbits. We listened to the cows. We saw beaitiful sunsets and sunrise. It was quiet.
Practically: well located. Amazing views. Level spots. Super easy access. 5 spots around a central pasture with a communal grill and table.
The hosts are some of the kindest people I've met on my 10 month trip. You'll be welcomed from the minute you drive on the property.
A definite 10 out of 10.
Oh, and get the eggs! The duck eggs were so good!

Tent camping here was great! It was a little too cold still to head to the mountains for camping so we went to Apollo Ranch. The weather was nice, the tent spot had plenty of room, the onsite porta potty was very clean, and we really appreciated the sun shade and tables/chairs. We saw a couple different birds here which is always fun for us to look out for. We’ll definitely come back when looking for a spot in the plains!

The tent camping was great. Note that the trail up to the tent platforms were very steep and require agility and sure footedness. So getting to the very nice and clean bathrooms would be a challenge for some people. The lodge and staff were great. The grounds by the creek were beautiful with Adirondack chairs, grass and shade and sun in perfect balance. The cornhole setup was fun. And the pavillion with grill were nice too.

This place is truly so special. Everything felt so safe and the vibes at night with the live music and lights were excellent. During the day the access to coffee, the hot tub, sauna, clubhouse, slack lines, and trails felt like a vacation in and of itself. The staff were so friendly and helpful and this place just had great vibes overall. I stayed in a car camping spot and always had access to the showers and power at my site.

Andy was an attentive and extremely helpful host! We camped out of our truck here for a night on our way to Northwestern Colorado and Andy’s place was conveniently located as well as peaceful. The toilets were clean and it was so nice to be able to fill up our water jugs. We spent the evening watching the Kingbirds and Meadowlarks in the surrounding farm/ grass land. Definitely recommend Andy’s place!

Great cozy facility nestled in a canyon with a beautiful creek running through it. We used a van/car spot, so not the hostel or hotel. The car sites have a nice deck to use, great spot to put a couple chairs and listen to the creek and watch the wildlife. Awesome lawn and chairs scattered throughout for relaxing. The beer on tap was great, with nice patio seating and easy couple minutes drive to downtown. We had planned to spend the day in boulder checking it out, but loved the grounds so much we stayed at camp all day and just enjoyed nature.

Leadville
Leadville is one of Colorado’s favorite old mining towns, and it’s only thirty minutes to the northeast of Twin Lakes. Surrounded by some of the highest peaks in the Rocky Mountains, Leadville is an adventure town steeped in gold rush history. Whether you’re seeking climbing adventures in the high country, gorgeous mountain scenery, or a glimpse into the region’s wild mining days, Leadville offers an abundance of outdoor fun. From RV parks to scenic National Forest campgrounds, campers have plenty of options in Leadville including the popular Crescent Mining Camp and Silver Dollar Campground.
Independence Pass
Heading west from Twin Lakes on Highway 82 is the historic byway to Independence Pass. It’s one of the highest paved roads in Colorado and travels up and over the Continental Divide from Twin Lakes to Aspen. There are several national forest campgrounds on both sides of the pass and numerous trails, ghost towns, and scenic views to explore along the way.
Aspen
Aspen is only an hour’s drive from Twin Lakes via the Independence Pass Road. Aspen may be known best for its skiing, but it’s a genuine outdoor adventure town for hikers, mountain bikers, and rock climbers the rest of the year. The Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness offers some of the most scenic hiking in Colorado. The waters of the Roaring Fork River also offer some of the best fly fishing in the state.
When to go
The best time for hiking, boating, and fishing is from June through early September. Campgrounds in the area are typically only open during this time as well, making summer the busiest season but the best time to visit. Avoid the crowds by visiting midweek and staying away on holiday weekends. Independence Pass is closed in winter and does not open until the Thursday before Memorial Day. Depending on early season snow, Independence Pass typically remains open until late October or early November.
Know before you go
- Campsites at the White Star and Lakeview campgrounds at Twin Lakes can be reserved up to six months in advance.
- All sites at Parry Peak and Twin Peaks campgrounds are available on a first-come, first-served basis only.
- Paddleboard, kayak, and mountain bike rentals are available at Twin Lakes.
- To avoid altitude sickness, keep hydrated and take it slow at first. Make sure you’re feeling well at high elevation before attempting to climb a high country peak.
- Vehicles over 35 feet in length are prohibited over Independence Pass Road, given the road’s steep and windy nature.
