Welcome to Camp Wilder! We are an off-the-beaten-path camp offering peace and solitude. The cabin is very special to my family and me. It was passed down as a mining claim from my grandmother who founded it in the '60s. The vision for the land was simply perfect. A small 10 x 10 cabin with the whole mountain to explore and whoever they wished to bring with them. The town of Nederland is 10 minutes down the road where you can fish at Baker Reservoir. Lots of fun little stores in town to keep the family busy. Wildlife is everywhere up by the cabin/campsite, always remember don't leave food lying around with lots of great things to look for around the magical town of Nederland. The cabin sleeps up to 8 with the futon downstairs being very comfortable and 3" foam upstairs in the loft for more sleeping area. Bring your sleeping bags to stay cozy at night. There are lanterns inside to light up your night with a wood stove to keep you warm at night. The ground around it is sloped so you may have a hard time setting up any tents around the cabin. The grocery store is in Nederland where you can buy food, Coleman green propane bottles, gallon jugs of water and wood. There is a 3 burner Coleman, stove to cook on with limited pots & pans as well as silverware. Road disclaimer, the road to the cabin is one lane dirt road. The drive up to the cabin is pretty good but the turn onto the single dirt road to the cabin has a slight dip, if you have a low-clearance car it may bottom out when you are turning so be careful. No Trailers. They will not be able to turn around once there. Recommend vehicles with AWD. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles. Park on the left. Hike down to the cabin between yellow stakes. We are @ 10,000 feet and it is a slight hike to the cabin. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles When leaving please make sure both door locks are locked, put the key in the lock box and mix the code for the next camper.

The park and campsites were all nice and what to expect from a National Park. There was hiking, biking, lakes, rivers. For an avid fisherman had a nice time. The only downside or caution was the road onto and back out. It was the worst washboard gravel/clay road that beat the heck out of our motor home for 7 miles in and then back out. We also had added excitement of two teenage bears liked to visit every night searching for food. But with drought conditions and limited food totally understandable.

We loved staying on Grayson & Tina's land at their Rocky Mountain RV Resort!! We towed our 17' Casita camper easily to the property, and were able to position our camper close to the full hook-ups, and under the shade of the tall pines. Grayson and Tina greeted us, and gave us some great suggestions to explore the area. Close to RMNP, Nederland, and Ward. The property is fully fenced, with a gate at the driveway, so our two dogs were free to roam and sniff without us having to worry about them chasing any squirrels or moose deep into the forest. The site is close to the house, but we never felt like we were intruding, or intruded upon. Grayson & Tina were super kind to us and the dogs. We will definitely stay here again whenever we travel to the area.

Great place. Bath house was a pleasant surprise. Had the back in RV lot to ourselves. Half an hour to State Forest State Park. Lauren was very welcoming when we first arrived. Would definitely stay here again.

Very quiet and peaceful with lots of trees, birds and hiking trails nearby. You can explore the forest right outside your site. Beautiful area that had everything as listed. We had a wonderful 4 day stay and plan to come back.

Weekend Trip to Sun Outdoors Rocky Mountains

Exceptionally well maintained camping resort. We had a back-in RV site with full hookups. I met many people who are part owners of the pre-manufactured homes. The hosts and house owners make the resort feel like a welcoming neighborhood. My kids enjoyed all the activities. This is a great place for young kids to practice bicycle riding while camping. I look forward to returning.

Weekend Trip to Idaho Springs RV Campground

I paid for a parking spot with access to a hot shower and that's exactly what I got! The shower was awesome and if I'd had more time, I'd have done another. I was able to get a really good spot so I could sit in the back of my Prius and enjoy the mountain view. And in the morning, the Big Dipper greeted me. Lovely spot!
