Wyoming’s capital city is the gateway to thousands of acres of Western wilderness adventures.
Tucked in the southeastern corner of Wyoming just 10 miles north of the Colorado border, Cheyenne offers Old West history and wide open spaces. Located where Interstate 25 crosses Interstate 80, it’s a convenient RV destination if you’re on a Western states road trip to nearby Rocky Mountain National Park, Roosevelt National Forest, or Medicine Bow National Forest. In town, Lions Park has paddleboat rentals, bike baths, and outdoor recreation space, while just west of town in the foothills of the Laramie Mountains, Curt Gowdy State Park offers RV camping, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and water activities on Granite Springs Reservoir, which has a boat ramp. You can even camp here with your own horses if you have them. Other RV parks can be found around town but only some offer full hookups. Summertime is the busy season; in winter and spring, it snows and temperatures fall below freezing.
