Second time staying at this location. The hosts are wonderful and the space is perfect for not only an overnight stay, but also a peaceful place to work while traveling as well. Whether you have your own rig or stay in one of the cabins, with great views from each site you can’t go wrong with this stop. Will definitely be back again.

Beautiful Oasis

We cabin camped with Chas at the Blue Moon cabin, and it was lovely. The natural there was gorgeous, and so was the cabin. I stayed two nights with my 12 year old son, and his dog, and we had so much fun exploring the land and when we got tired, the cabin was a little oasis. The bed was comfortable, there were just enough amenities (toilet, electricity for charging) that we weren't 'roughing it' but with no wifi and limited cell service, I got my son off his phone and he wasn't even mad because there were big rocks to climb, lots of places to explore and good hikes nearby. It was an amazing trip, and Chas' cabin made it perfect. He and his wife were welcoming and kind hosts, and I am so grateful for all their work to make the cabin such amazing place to spend the weekend.

Staying here was a true treat from my long drive across the country. Chas and Gail were great hosts who I met on arrival. The little cabin was perfect, cozy and a great view. Next time I will plan to stay a bit longer and explore more of the trails and relax!

Perfect micro adventure

This was our second time to stay at Blue Moon, this time with the kids and the dog. We really liked that our kids had the experience of climbing trees and rocks, seeing wildlife, and exploring. We were able to see so many stars in the dark skies. But we still had the convenience of a comfy bed, toilet, and clean water. Chas even provided cots for the kids. We played games in the cabin, and really had the best time. Would love to come back again in the fall to see the Aspen!

This was one of the most beautiful sites and the surrounding nature was lovely to explore. The hosts were very kind and plesant. The outdoor shower was extremely refreshing, as well! 10/10 would visit again!

Beautiful area + great amenities

We had a lovely stay! It’s a beautiful area and the site was thoughtfully laid out. It’s surrounded by trees and rocks. Even with a hot day, we kept cool between the trees, breeze, and canopy. There are two small cabins also in the area but it still feels incredibly private - we could not see them or the primary residence. They’ve built a fantastic patio with string lights and a large picnic table. There’s also a charcoal grill and fire pit with granite seats that will be great to use when there’s no fire ban. They also built a luxurious outhouse a short walk away. It is a bright, clean and spacious room with a compost toilet. Well maintained and stocked. Plenty of room to get dressed if needed. Depending on the wind, you’ll catch the highway/train noise. Bring earplugs if you’re sensitive. We were also very close to Curt Gowdy State Park and Vedauwoo recreation area. Chad and Gail were friendly and gracious hosts and we are grateful that they welcomed us on their land. We recommend!!

This cabin was perfect. Not only was it beautifully designed and decorated, there were so many thoughtful details. While there are stairs, there were hand rails and lighting to make them more accessible. The outdoor seating had awning that allowed us to stay outside in the rain, and there was a propane fire pit had we needed it. The property was striking an had amazing views. It was also close enough to I-80 that it makes for a very convenient stop while traveling. On top of it all, the hosts were delightful, friendly and helpful. We can't wait to stay here again.

What a pleasant surprise. We have never booked throughHip Camp before and didn't know what yo expect. The site was secluded, quiet, and had beautiful views. Chas was very accommodating, even met us at the highway exit to guide us in. I was glad we were able to run our generator as I require oxygen. We would not gave known people were in the cabins as they are out of sight and earshot. Much more pleasant than a crowded campground. I would highly recommend this host and site.

What a treat to be able to stay at this gorgeous property. I had the “car camping” site (Lee Road) and it was exactly what I wanted. The hosts greeted me upon my arrival and were extremely friendly and accommodating. I love that my site had a private compost toilet and huge shared outdoor shower! The facilities were immaculate and the views were wonderful. Plenty of shade on site and you get a nice breeze throughout the day that comes through. If you’re into birding, I counted at least 10 different species that regularly visited. The only minor downside was some highway noise, but you can’t do much about that. I would bring earplugs if you’re tent camping- just in case. I will certainly be staying here again.

The blue moon cabin was AMAZING, my husband, dog and I spent the night there while road tripping and it exceeded every expectation we had! The land and views were stunning - we saw about 10 shooting stars and the sunset was beautiful. The cabin itself was also incredible - the bed was so comfortable, there were extra blankets, games, tea/coffee, a sitting area with a gas fire pit and patio outside. One of our favorite cabins from our road trip. Truly such a great stay, we will be back!!

Blue Moon getaway

Just returned home from a trip which included 2 seperate nights at the Blue Moon site hosted by Chaz and Gail. First of all what great hosts and their property is wonderful. Easy to find off 1-80...and yes it's outside of Laramie. The Blue Moon cabin was delight. Built by Chaz, Gail and the help of a few friends. View was wonderful, bed comfortable, sunrise...wow...so many immenities in a semi primitive cabin. Remember...composting toilet, one outlet...limited water...think no running...great outdoor space...the perfect get away. We can't wait to go back...spend a few nights and explore the whole area.
