This is a wonderful spot to fuel up or refuel after your grand Colorado adventure. I am one house west of the local grocery, hardware and pet stores, as well as catty-corner from Me Oh My Pie (delicious bakery and cafe), The Swing Station (Live Music & bar), and just one minute down the road from Vern's (cinnamon rolls and chicken friend steak!!). I also sit at the end of the Poudre Trail, a 21-mile paved recreation trail that follows the river down to Greely, CO. There is a loop in the driveway for turning around. Can only accommodate 15amp. No Sewer. No constant water access but can use hose in front yard.

Property is 40 acres and has multiple spots to camp on. There is a significant amount of creek frontage and also a scenic overlook at the top of the mountain. The property is in the middle of a valley and is very quiet and no lights, so it's a great area to relax and see the stars and hang out with the family. The road to the property is 44H and is county maintained road with wide clearance so a regular car or RV can make it just fine and there's a large area for parking at the base. To get to the top of the mountain I would recommend 4x4 as it's a steep road, or you can walk up. Because it was dry this year I would not recommend a fire unless it's contained in the fire pit and is small.

The closest trailhead in RMNP is 10 miles, the next trailhead at Wild Basin entrance to the park is 13 miles, and the Beaver Meadows entrance (main entrance) is 36 miles. Rocky Mountain National Park has breathtaking drives, easy strolls with interpretive signs, and 360 miles of trails. We are located one mile south of the Wyoming/Colorado border on the west side of Highway 287, one mile north of the rest area. The elevation is about 7,500 feet. Our property, and the surrounding area, is loaded with stunning granite boulders. This outcropping is part of the Sherman Batholith, (just like Vedauwoo to the North), dated at 1.4 billion years old! There are a variety of trees and abundant wildlife and birds. RVs, pop-up and all styles of towed campers are welcome, except Class A motor homes or low ground clearance vehicles, due to a small hill and dirt roads. Our house is uphill and far enough away that you won't see us, but we're available if you need anything. We have an amazing 1000 acres to have your own hiking, wildlife, birdwatching, adventure. We have great hiking and wildlife viewing, marmots, pronghorn, antelope, deer, elk, and an occasional moose. Birds of every feather gather here so bring your binoculars. Hikes include balancing boulders and rock formations. Wonderful stargazing, our stars are so bright it seems like you can reach up and touch them. We are a working ranch and do have livestock. Don’t mess with the bull. Firewood, for $7.00 per bag. The bags make a great trash bag when empty! Do not bring your own firewood, as we don’t want more pine beetles and noxious weeds. Due to the high volume of people coming in separate vehicles, after two vehicles per site, its $10.00 per vehicle extra per night. We have portable outhouses available.

The hipcamp was beautiful with its well kept gardens and flower beds. The horses and chickens were a treat to see. We had a fire both nights at the communal fire pit surrounded by flowers and plants. There was road noise but the relaxed atmosphere and the very accommodating host made up for that. We came as strangers and left as friends.

We had a nice stay at Vicki's place over Labor Day weekend. It was right at the edge of Fort Collins and was a perfect spot to use as our base camp. Vicki guided us in, provided some potable water for the camper and was an outstanding host. Her property is well manicured with beautiful flowers, trees and raised garden areas. The horses are friendly and enjoy some ear scratching!

We needed to get work done on our motorhome in Fort Collins and we stayed here and will be back again. Simple and quiet it was lovely to see all the goats and the horses. Tommy was a lovely host and it was a beautiful view and quiet place. Rigbys is a stones throw up a walkway and their food was yummy and you can’t beat live music on a Saturday night. We didn’t get a chance to sign up to do a horseback riding session but I guess that will wait for next time. We typically prefer boondocking and this is a great stop over for scouting the dispersed camping nearby.
