North Shore RV Park &amp; General Store

This was a wonderful camping experience. The location was perfect, with beautiful scenery and amazing views all around. The hosts were courteous, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we truly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back again!

Not a very quiet spot for tents.

Overall, I think the park manager was good and they did a good job with what they had. The price was good and the park was clean and the restroom worked okay. It was annoying dealing with a key every time I wanted to go into the restroom, though. It's not something I usually have to do when going camping. Unfortunately, my tent was right next to a spot where someone pulled in with an ancient bus, at 11pm, super loud diesel engine, and no one seemed to have a problem with this. They woke me up in the middle of the night, heart pounding, scrambling to figure out why it sounded like someone was about to run over my tent with a bulldozer. This site was also close to the road, and there are lots of assholes riding super loud motorcycles late at night after dark. This is probably a fine spot for an RV with good sound-absorbing walls, and maybe some earplugs, but I wouldn't recommend it for tent camping.

Awesome! That sums it up!

Amazing! That sums it up in one word. The location is awesome, and is a short walk (or drive) to Carter Lake. The grounds are very clean and safe. The owners are fantastic and made me feel right at home. The general store offers a variety of items that are NOT overpriced. Plenty of wildlife in the area and tons of space to walk or get out and about. We will for sure be back!!!

What a wonderful place to stay! We were greeted by deer and turkeys on our very first morning, which made the experience even more special. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and everything is kept very clean. The little store has a bit of everything you might need for camping, swimming, eating, or fishing. The husband and wife who run the property are incredibly kind and welcoming. The full hookup sites are a little tight, but still very manageable. You can even see Carter Lake right from the property line. We will definitely be back!

It was actually our first time staying at an RV park, but it was a great experience. Was very clean and had every hookup we needed. Was also nice to be so close to Carter Lake. Also, the bar next door was a cool spot. Would stay again!

My second time here!

This is an RV site with a couple of cabins and tent spaces. The park was quiet, clean and easily accessible. I saw deer and turkeys each evening at dusk. The cabin was super clean and had a couple of battery operated lanterns. Bring your own bedding or sleeping bag. The shower was great and a flushable toilet is always nice to have while camping. Very relaxing to sit on the cabin porch and watch the deer or turkeys.

Cabin was nice and well maintained. Would have been nice if window could be opened- gets hot and stuffy if the door wasn’t kept open. Nice bench to sit outside.

Communication with the host was great. Facilities were well kept. Our spot was super nice and we even had a heard of deer come through! Having the Wind Jammer right there was a fun perk as well! Definitely will be coming back!

Overall it was a great experience. The owners/management at the general store were helpful and courteous. The cabin was equipped nicely. Loved the bar/restaurant next door as well. The only suggestion would be to have a screen door on the cabin to allow some airflow during hot days. Great location, great people, very happy with the stay.

The setting was nice, with clear skies at night and a relatively quiet atmosphere. However, the layout of the full hookup sites left a lot to be desired. The sites were packed so tightly that our picnic table was only about three feet from the neighboring sewer drain—on both sides. Understandably, that's not a great setup for outdoor meals or relaxing. While I recognize that redesigning a campground isn’t a simple fix, this aspect really took away from the experience. Overall, it was an okay place to stay, but it didn’t quite meet the expectations I had going in.

Glamping in the cabins

The site was beautiful with wild deer and turkey wandering through. Bathroom was clean. Shower was not hot but they are working on the water heater so understandable. Having the Campground store and the bar/grill within short walking distance was convenient. Store prices were good. The campground manager (Debbie) was helpful, kind, and easily available. The cabins were cozy and kept the bugs out. They do not currently have power in the cabins (we brought a solar power station and a couple extension cords) but they do have battery lanterns that were nice. The site was clean and the fire rings were great for toasting marshmallows and general campfires. All in all a great experience for pretty reasonable prices. Would stay there again for sure.

Debbie was the sweetest! She was attentive and kept us informed of bear sightings and provided local insight. The campsite was clean and has volleyball net being installed.
