There are easy trails on property along the lush stream (the original riverbed of the Middle Saint Vrain Stream), fishing or swimming in the pond (no lifeguard on duty), or challenging trails into Roosevelt National Forest from the property. Bliss Canyon is a spur off of breathtaking, picturesque South Saint Vrain Canyon. Stroll on over to the South or Middle for renowned fly fishing. For climbers, there are over 50 climbs in South Saint Vrain Canyon!

If you like to watch the stars and meteor showers, Bliss Canyon is blessed with dark skies with little light from the plains. Bring your telescopes and explore the Universe.
Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the five Crown Jewels of the National Park Service, is nearby. The closest trailhead in RMNP is 10 miles, the next trailhead at Wild Basin entrance to the park is 13 miles, and the Beaver Meadows entrance (main entrance) is 36 miles. Rocky Mountain National Park has breathtaking drives, easy strolls with interpretive signs, and 360 miles of trails. (Advance reservation required for entry 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for main park, or 5:00 am to 6:00 pm for Bear Lake corridor.)
Indian Peaks Wilderness also has several nearby access points and trailheads. Ask Dot for details.
The charming town of Lyons is 20 minutes away with coffee shops, restaurants, bars, lots of great live music, and quaint shops. Also, Spirit Hound Distillery received the award for the #1, Best Whiskey in the World in 2022, hmmm, it might be worth a tasting!
Due to our popularity reservations often fill up quickly. We suggest you make your reservations in advance especially if you have a group to rent the entire camp. At times there are last minute cancelations which allows for last minute openings.

Private, semi rural property of 1 plus acre to house your RV while traveling or availing local activities; there is a home on the property. Close to Boulder CO and other towns, easy access and quiet place to stay that is not an RV park.
RV must be self contained with a toilet. We do NOT provide septic of any kind.
Generators may not be used, however we can supply 30 amp for a small fee during hot summer months. Pets must be leashed and waste picked up. No more than 2 pets per unit. We do not allow generators as we provide power for hot times.

Welcome to our charming 2-acre meadow nestled in East Boulder. Just minutes from town - near bike trails, shops and restaurants. A great pitstop on your way to or from the mountains - or base camp for the adventures in Front Range. We aren't fancy, but we are convenient, cozy and safe. Gate code will be provided 48 hours before arrival.
PLEASE NOTE: We are entering MOSQUITO SEASON!!! It isn't bad yet, but it will be. Our meadow is surrounded by wetlands. There is a short period in the spring where you MUST SEEK SHELTER INDOORS WHEN THE SUN IS SETTING else the mosquitos will carry off your firstborn child. NO JOKE... Consider yourself warned!!!
We have spots in the wide open meadow for Tents, Motorhomes, Vans, Trailers, and Rooftop setups. The grounds are a bit sloped but we've got leveling boards (please leave them behind).
We've got Boulder's best eggs, a few walking paths through tall wild grasses, a campfire ring, solar shower, small sink, gas grill, and a lovely porta-jon.
We can handle RVs up to 45 feet - truck and trailer. It’s a big field, but a narrow, winding and steep gravel ramp to get in and out.
We have a community fire pit with free burn wood, though the big logs are few and far between; your own firewood is recommended - as well as an ax or saw. If it's windy, please skip the fire... the BFD is very strict about this!!
We have well water feeding a solar shower (only hot when the sun shines) and sink (non potable unless you have a filter).
We have a wading / dog pool continually refreshed from the creek. It’s a saving grace in the summertime.
Please help yourself to eggs up at the coop - look for the Venmo QR. The chickens free range during the day, so please MIND YOUR DOG.

What a wonderful place to stay! We were greeted by deer and turkeys on our very first morning, which made the experience even more special. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and everything is kept very clean.
The little store has a bit of everything you might need for camping, swimming, eating, or fishing. The husband and wife who run the property are incredibly kind and welcoming.
The full hookup sites are a little tight, but still very manageable. You can even see Carter Lake right from the property line.
We will definitely be back!

Bonnie’s land is set up really well with multiple campsites in a peaceful meadow area. I stayed at Sideline, which was on the end, so I only had one neighbor. My 21' camper was easy to turn around in the meadow and I could pull right up to my spot without any trouble. The Russian olives were in bloom during my stay and smelled amazing. I’d definitely stay again!

This was an amazing stay. The farm has 4 generations of family history and was originally homesteaded in the 1800s. I felt so much peace here. It was perfect. We got to see an air battle between eagles and Hawks. We watched prairie dogs and rabbits. We listened to the cows. We saw beaitiful sunsets and sunrise. It was quiet.
Practically: well located. Amazing views. Level spots. Super easy access. 5 spots around a central pasture with a communal grill and table.
The hosts are some of the kindest people I've met on my 10 month trip. You'll be welcomed from the minute you drive on the property.
A definite 10 out of 10.
Oh, and get the eggs! The duck eggs were so good!

Weekend Trip to The Bluebear at Y Double-K Ranch
The place was incredible and SO cozy and private. We will *definitely* be coming back. We got to experience all the weather while we were there 🤣 85° and sunny, 60° and raining, and 30s° and snowing! All in a weekend! It was beautiful and well maintained so we felt very safe even during the snow. The view of the mountains was stunning!

Fantastic location outside Lyons and accessible to area mountains. The water flowing through the property was a key feature, the pooled waterfall areas were ideal for swimming. Our dog was in heaven. Weekend Trip to The Bluebear at Y Double-K Ranch
My stay at Cesar’s cabin was wonderful! I had everything I needed, plus more. The bed was comfortable and clean, I had ample options for seating, the toilet was well-kept, and there were several appliances as my disposal. The site itself is on beautiful, private, and quiet land. There’s even a National Forest entrance nearby.

Such a peaceful getaway! The sheep wagon was clean and cozy and the location was wonderful - so quiet that all you could hear were the birds or the wind. A lovely cat walked us to the barn bathroom and back and all the horses were friendly - perfect if you’re a farm animal lover!

Just moved to Northern Colorado and needed a quick getaway. Castaway was exactly what we were hoping for… just steps from the river you’ll find the perfect place to pitch a tent. Lots of trees… sandy beach. Picnic table and firepit provided. The site is clean and well maintained. Easy access to a clean, well stocked portable restroom and trash can. The site is fairly secluded but sits fairly close to the highway, you will hear some road noise but traffic tapered off after sundown. Bonus: the camp host (Johnny) is delightful.

Overview
About
Right in the city of Loveland, Colorado, Boyd Lake is beloved by water sports enthusiasts, with about 1,700 surface acres of water that can be used by motorized and non-motorized boats alike. Other popular summertime activities include swimming, fishing, and birdwatching, while sledding, ice skating, and ice fishing are a source of winter fun. There’s only one place to camp in the park, Cottonwood Campground, which is suitable for RVs and tents, and offers solid amenities, including dump sites, hot showers, flush toilets, playgrounds, laundry facilities, and horseshoe pits.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- You can reserve one of the Cottonwood Campground’s 148 tent and RV sites through the Colorado Parks and Wildlife online reservation system or over the phone.
- Reservations can be made up to six months advance. Same-day reservations are also available.
- While the campground is open during the winter season (November-March), the number of available campsites are reduced and only one restroom (with showers and flush toilets) remains open. Laundry is also not available during this period.
When to go
High season at Boyd Lake runs from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend, and the park and its campground are at their busiest when school is out for summer. May has pleasantly warm weather but also gets the most rainfall out of any month of the year, while September is a good month for warm, dry weather without the summer vacation crowds. Spring and fall are the best times for spotting migratory waterfowl.
Know before you go
- The closest place to pick up groceries and supplies is in Loveland, right by the park. Supermarkets, restaurants, and medical facilities are within a five-minute drive of the campground.
- All campers must have both a camping reservation and a separate Colorado State Parks Annual Pass or a Daily Pass.
- Campsites at Boyd Lake can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet in length. The entry gate clearance is 14 feet and 2 inches.
- Three wheelchair-accessible sites are in the campground.

Conveniently located
It’s a big park at the edge of Loveland, but it’s quiet, well maintained with most of the amenities one might like. I think a couple of loops don’t allow generators, which is awesome. There is a trail around the lake and a dump station.
