Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.

Property is 40 acres and has multiple spots to camp on. There is a significant amount of creek frontage and also a scenic overlook at the top of the mountain. The property is in the middle of a valley and is very quiet and no lights, so it's a great area to relax and see the stars and hang out with the family. The road to the property is 44H and is county maintained road with wide clearance so a regular car or RV can make it just fine and there's a large area for parking at the base. To get to the top of the mountain I would recommend 4x4 as it's a steep road, or you can walk up. Because it was dry this year I would not recommend a fire unless it's contained in the fire pit and is small.Campsite 1 would be the main pullout from 44H with a roughly 12 foot locked gate that is easily accessed by car or RV. Campsite 2 would be the second pullout going to the top of the mountain. This would be accessed by 4x4 car or walking up due to the steep grade. There are no bathroom amenities here or other hookups. Guests will need to be self contained, take waste with them and leave no trace. Fires should be in fire pits and supervised, especially given the dry winter.

We stayed on the lower level of the campsite near the river, and it was great! It was peaceful and relaxing, with the river right nearby. Just be aware that you’re also close to a road, so there is some road noise, but overall we really enjoyed our stay!

Stayed on the mountain site, recommend 4WD w clearance to get up steep hill with rocks. Lots of privacy, which we were happy about given busier on road than expected. Great views but keep in mind it is a burned area. A lot of room to explore. Had a fun time with my toddler. It was nice to let her explore and not worry about the road.

Loved this camp site! Great for kids, they played in the picturesque stream all day. Very private/secluded, car traffic no big deal at all. I would highly recommend!

Relaxing Weekend by the Creek

This was a great spot to relax for the weekend. Just be aware that there isn't much shade yet because of the burn area, so it gets pretty hot in the middle of the day. That said, the young forest is coming back nicely, and the creek was a definite highlight and perfect place to cool down. There is some vehicle use on the dirt road, with a few traveling faster than others, but it wasn't a big issue for us since our camper faced the creek and our dogs are reliable on voice command. We really enjoyed our weekend unplugged!

Great little spot not far from Fort Collins! We really enjoyed camping by the creek, and it was nice having the option to camp on the other side of the road up on the hill as well. There are lots of great trails nearby, making it easy to get out and explore the area. Overall, it's a great basecamp for outdoor adventures, and we'd definitely stay here again!

The site was very nice. Of note, if using the linked map on Hipcamp, it routes to the neighboring property so be sure to enter the exact address. There is no phone reception for about the last 30 minutes of the drive to the site. Pros: staying by stream and having access to water. Brand new fire pit. Lots of places to hike around the area. Peaceful and serene. Miles was a great host. Cons: this is in an area of former forest fire so it is surrounded by scarred, barren trees. The lower campsite by the stream doesn’t offer shade so it was toasty during the day. It is also road adjacent so there is a fair amount of passing traffic (fortunately it was just during daylight hours).

Good sized site with a large level parking area inside the gate and then another good sized level area down a near the stream. It was nice to hear the water! Lots of firewood on site. Definitely would stay again and recommend this site.
