The camping spots are located on the back part of the property and along a refurbished shed that includes a 20amp plug, 1 added 30 amp plug & interior electric, clean well water delivery or hose filling in warmer months as well as a separately fenced area for visiting canines (Please only non-aggressive breeds unless leashed at your camp). My Golden has an invisible fence and is not allowed to visit campers unless permitted. Fires are only permitted and shared on the back patio of my home. Activities for fun on site include corn hole, firepit on lower patio along with a propane weber grill. Only 1-2 mile from Frontier Park and an electric bike ride to downtown to tour the museums, restaurants & shops. Currently, new to hip camp and refurbishing the house and exterior so The Shed will be a working/congregating space with refrigerator/freezer, electric cooktop and indoor space with electric heater so folks can escape their cars/vans. Wi-Fi will eventually be in The Shed but is currently available on my back patio. This was my dream come true property and I'm looking forward to sharing it with road warriors like me. Weather is forever changing here and clouds roll by fast leaving the most fabulous rainbows. I just ask that no fires of any kind be set at your site because the field is a fire hazard in the dry plains.

Weekend Trip to Buford Canyon

This is a perfect retreat! Chas and Gail have made sure you have everything you need for a comfortable off-grid experience. The property is spectacular, the other guests were quiet and considerate, and the amenities are perfect. Because the cabin runs on solar, if you are a “coffee first thing” person, you may want to consider bringing a jetboil or similar, but that’s not necessary. Truly a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the quiet!

Kimberly was an incredible host. She helped me troubleshoot issues that were preventing me from reserving the camp spot online, was super responsive, and ensured we found the site easily. Her property is beautiful and this site was perfect for our family. Set a bit further down the property, it (along with site #5) was relatively quiet and extremely peaceful. There was a soft, flat area for our large family tent. The firepit was perfect, and the two lawn chairs were a helpful, unexpected addition. I hadn't been in Rist Canyon before and the entire family loved it - gorgeous, forested areas - a birders paradise!

Weekend Trip to Stellar Mountain Escape

The camping was nice for a last minute booking! We did have some quite loud neighbors, who had an air horn they would periodically blow randomly which was frustrating but not to the fault of the host. The couple things that were harder to overlook was the porta potty was very full and the neighbor dogs barked for over and an hour one night which in the canyon echoed. Other than that, the area was beautiful and only a 25 minute drive to the horsetooth reservoir which was a big plus!

5 nights at Buford Canyon

We absolutely love this Hipcamp property, which is obvious because this is our 6th time here in the past 4 years! The site is peaceful and the scenery can't be beat. Add to that an immaculately maintained property by the nicest hosts you'll ever meet. We'll be back, of course. It's a perfect place to stay for one night if you're traveling through, but you'll wish you stayed longer.

The name is perfect- very serene! The spot feels secluded and private- compared to campground camping. Firewood was plentiful. Would definitely camp here again! Our dogs loved being off leash, too.

Arrived late and left at dawn on a road trip from OR to FL with my collie and our minivan. We were tired and just needed a safe quiet place to crash. The pasture was lovely and the host was responsive, kind, and accommodating of our short notice and ever-changing ETA. Would definitely recommend especially at the unbeatable price and convenient location!

Do not miss a chance to stay here!!! I enjoyed one night in the South Crow Cabin while driving across country. I wish I had planned at least two nights. The cabin was cozy inside and out, incredible views for sunrise and sunset from the porch and plenty of land to explore. Book it!!

Nice spot. Fit our pop up camper perfectly. Was a nice quiet weekend there. Plenty of trees for hammocks and flat space to set up a canopy. Campsites are far enough apart to allow dogs off leash and there is fencing along the property line to keep the dogs contained. Had a porta potty as well which the ladies greatly appreciated. Cool spot for sure! May have to return next season!

This was a beautiful area. Christine and her family were so welcoming, kind and accommodating. The outdoor kitchen was clean and accessible, the outdoor shower was invigorating and clean. I had a wonderful stay here!!!

We loved staying at Blue Moon while traveling through the west. Chas and Gail's land was unbelievable and such a retreat from the road life. We were able to hike and enjoy the views, then retreat back to the cabin for meals and relaxation.

Perfect tent camping spot with no service, not too many bugs, and beautiful views. This spot was easy to find and the bathroom was very clean. I am very happy that I rented this site!

2 nights at Buford Canyon

Absolutely gorgeous property and views! All three sites have been beautifully built and well maintained/cleaned. Took the whole extended family and stayed at all three sites. Everyone had a great time! Chas was super friendly and helpful—brought an extra propane fire pit to the campsite in lieu of a campfire. During the day you can see a ton of wildlife (humming birds, deer, bluebirds, hawks) and at night, the skies are dark and filled with stars. Would come back again in a heartbeat!

4 nights at Gordon Creek RV Park

This was a nice and quiet RV park near Red Feather Lakes. Full hookups were great and there is a nice diner on the property. We liked the proximity to all the outdoor activities that we love.

What a beautiful site in the Colorado mountains! It was so peaceful and we enjoyed the many animals that we saw while on a walk near Kimberly's land, especially the black stallion. I just wish that we had more time to stay! Thanks for opening your land up to others to enjoy!

The Virginia Dale Stage Station is about three miles away and the overland trail has several branches going through here. We are also a fifth generation cattle ranch. We have campsites for RV’s or Tents. We have an amazing 1000 acres to have your own hiking, wildlife, birdwatching, adventure. We have great hiking and wildlife viewing, marmots, pronghorn, antelope, deer, elk, and an occasional moose. Birds of every feather gather here so bring your binoculars. Hikes include balancing boulders and rock formations. Wonderful stargazing, our stars are so bright it seems like you can reach up and touch them. We are a working ranch and do have livestock. Don’t mess with the bull!Firewood, for $7.00 per bag delivered to your campsite. The bags make a great trash bag when empty! Do not bring your own firewood, as we don’t want more pine beetles and noxious weeds. Due to the high volume of people coming in separate vehicles, after two vehicles per site, its $10.00 per vehicle extra per night. We have portable outhouses available.

We are located one mile south of the Wyoming/Colorado border on the west side of Highway 287, one mile north of the rest area. The elevation is about 7,500 feet. Our property, and the surrounding area, is loaded with stunning granite boulders. This outcropping is part of the Sherman Batholith, (just like Vedauwoo to our north), dated at 1.4 billion years old! There are a variety of trees and abundant wildlife and birds. RVs, pop-up and all styles of towed campers are welcome, except Class A motor homes or low ground clearance vehicles. Our house is uphill and far enough away that you won't see us, but we're available if you need anything. The property line is fenced and/or marked, we ask that you stay on our property and keep close contact with your kids and your dogs leashed, or nearby, for their safety... due to abundant wildlife, as well as neighbors with horses and cattle.

Wyoming's Highway 210 is locally known as Happy Jack Road—with a natural playground like Curt Gowdy State Park along the way, we have a hunch why this Jack character was so darn giddy. This is one of the state's most versatile parks, with fantastic opportunities for both land and water-centric recreation. Lace up those hiking boots or buckle your bike helmet and spend some time in the foothills of the Laramie Mountains, named an “epic trail system” by the International Mountain Bicycling Association. Afterward, take a boat out for a spin on one of the park's reservoirs: Granite is ideal for water sports, while Crystal is a utopia for fishermen in search of seclusion (and a wealth of kokanee salmon and rainbow trout). The water is sourced by the nearby towns of Laramie and Cheyenne, so no swimming is allowed—but the close proximity to city limits means that Curt Gowdy State Park is super convenient from any direction.
