Glen Echo is a unique year-round destination that has been welcoming travelers and residents for a century, nestled along the breathtaking Cache La Poudre River on Colorado Highway 14. Established in 1922, this charming resort is situated at an elevation of 7,200 feet, offering stunning views and a serene atmosphere that sets it apart from other campgrounds. Although the Bellvue Post Office handles our mail, Glen Echo is conveniently located near Rustic, CO, making it easily accessible for visitors. Beautiful location, great shop and restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch & dinner if you want to travel light or have a night off cooking. Bugs were bad at the campsite on the island so bring spray and cream for when you get bitten. My son caught 2 fish in the river!

Overall it was a great experience . Good thing, the river was nice and loud that you couldn't hear your neighbors because the sites are very close together. I feel that #9 cabin should state there is no window to view river from the inside, but all the other cabins do, which was very disappointing not to have a view from the inside. If you want to fish, cabins 5 through 7 are the better spots. #9 shoreline has trees and the river runs fast, so no fishing outside your cabin. Also, hipcamp states checkout is 1p but it's actually 10am, which made our last day end quicker then planned.

Beautiful location with all the amenities! We had a slight hiccup with being double booked but they quickly made up for it and got us a beautiful spot on the river. Thanks to the welcoming Glen Echo staff for a great visit!!
