If you're coming in from Denver/Ft Collins, Co area, Poudre Canyon is a beautiful drive and can take you thru Walden, Co or bring you in on Wyo 10. Feel free to reach out if you have questions on the routes, scenic stops, cut overs or short cuts. There is Hiking, Fishing, Snow Shoeing, Cross Country skiing, Downhill skiing, (Snowy Range Ski Area) Hot Springs, Mountain Lakes, Plains Lakes, the Big Laramie River, all with in a 5-to-90-mile radius. There is public access, dogs allowed, to the Big Laramie River across the highway where you can fish or walk the public access path that runs alongside it. Watching the wildlife is an experience of its own. From Chipmunks to deer, we see an assortment. If you enjoy birds and their sounds, you can pick a spot and enjoy. If you are a weather watcher, you may see 3-4 seasons in one day depending on the time of year. It's a great place to snuggle in, read a book, write a book, watch a downloaded movie or just sleep, but disconnect from the chaos and the alerts.

Come experience the Old West as it was and still is as you meander along the road through working ranches that were homesteaded back in the early 1900’s...their weathered log cabins still standing and often still occupied...others are close enough for a great “back in time” photo opportunity. As Colorado's open range law permits ranchers to graze their cattle without borders, you will often find them on the roadways or you may even get caught up in a cattle drive as the ranchers move their cattle from one pasture or paddock to another. Springtime brings all the calves and branding time! Observing the rancher, his horse, and dog working together is a genuine treat. Look along the roadside for sage grouse, in the open fields for pronghorn, down in the willows and streams for the bull moose, in the trees for the mule deer, and on top of the ridge lines for the elk. There are also bald eagle and osprey nests, alpacas, horses, sheep, and goats. All this just on the ride into Williams Fork Lodging! Our residence sits above this scenic panorama at the end of the road and adjacent to public lands tucked beneath Copper Peak on the Williams Fork Range. The elevation is roughly 8,500 feet and the 180 degree view is breathtaking...encompassing three mountain ranges, many peaks, pastures/meadows, forest, and ponds. Soak in everything from the glorious sunrises to enchanting full moons to brilliant stars that truly seem closer than they are…the view of the Milky Way is unobstructed by light pollution for outstanding celestial shows…and meteor showers are spectacular from the hot tub! We live on the same property as the Lodge and are quite self sustainable: hunting, fishing, gardening, gathering wild berries, and raising our own poultry meat. The Lodge and cabin are constructed of concrete and rock as well as high efficiency windows and takes full advantage of passive solar heat; backup heat and the hot water are provided by wood via an outside boiler maintained by us. if interested, Dale offers fresh baked caramel rolls and other enticing breads and/or meals. More about this campsite: The site is in a small ranch pasture along the Bear River near willow, birch, and large cottonwood trees. From the campsite there are views of the Flat Top mountains and ancient volcanic necks. Very quiet except for ranch activity and the friendly livestock guardian dogs (who will visit, and they bark to protect the sheep and goats at night) - it's a working ranch and you may have to contend with talkative sheep or dodge the occasional cow pie!

We have four new, heavily treed campsites for your RV, trailer, or tent. Situated on the high side of our property, the sites offer wide-open skies and mountain views. This is a private community, and host permission must be obtained to be on site. Amenities and Features Dry Camping Only: These sites support dry camping only. Nearby Services: A dump station is located nearby (a possible fee may apply), and water is available close by for your convenience. Local Services: Dining, drinking, gasoline, an ACE Hardware store, grocery store, liquor store, and antiquing are all available within ½ to 5 miles. Activities Lakes & Fishing: Many public lakes are nearby for fishing, including Hiawatha Lake and Shagwa Lake, as well as kayaking and other water activities. Our community lake is private, but guest permits may be purchased. Hiking: Enjoy excellent hiking opportunities directly from the property. National Forest Access: We are close to the National Forest, with access to ATV trails. Policies Fires: Per local zoning regulations, wood fires are not permitted. However, propane fire pits are welcome.

Weekend Trip to Valley of the Bear Ranch

Amazing spot by a creek with views of the flat tops and animals galore. Barb is a great host and we will definitely be back. Just ~20 mins drive to the first of 3 lakes and the flat tops wilderness. We were also pleasantly surprised by Antlers restaurant and Flat Tops Cafe just down the road.

Great night camping here, we got a reservation here last minute and we were super lucky to get a quick response. The site was right on the creek and it was so nice to let our dog play in it and fish. Lots of places to go shopping and eat at nearby. Nice and quiet area if you are looking for a secluded spot.

We loved our stay here! The location was perfect for exploring RMNP—only 15 minutes to Wild Basin and about 40 minutes to Bear Lake Road. We filled our water at Crystal Springs and used the $5 public showers at Meeker Lodge, both conveniently located nearby. The host was incredibly kind and accommodating, and we really appreciated being able to stay for the week. The grill that comes with the site was a great bonus and got plenty of use during our stay. We would absolutely come back and highly recommend this Hipcamp to anyone looking for a peaceful basecamp near Rocky Mountain National Park!

Weekend Trip to Little Cabin with a view

Linda’s directions were perfect given we lost cell service a few miles out from Jelm. Read them carefully beforehand! She’s an incredibly responsive host and extremely thoughtful with her guests. The location is beautiful and property was great to walk. Our pups loved it. Watching the sunset from bed made me appreciate being away from technology.

This was a wonderful camping spot, so much so we wish we could have stayed longer. Barb was a helpful host, and the site was beautiful. Sitting by the creek and watching the sheep and goats (and marmots in the wood pile) at sundown was delightful after a long day of driving and hiking. We highly recommend this site to campers that value privacy and amazing views. Thanks so much for making your pasture available.

Beautiful location with all the amenities! We had a slight hiccup with being double booked but they quickly made up for it and got us a beautiful spot on the river. Thanks to the welcoming Glen Echo staff for a great visit!!

Exceptionally well maintained camping resort. We had a back-in RV site with full hookups. I met many people who are part owners of the pre-manufactured homes. The hosts and house owners make the resort feel like a welcoming neighborhood. My kids enjoyed all the activities. This is a great place for young kids to practice bicycle riding while camping. I look forward to returning.

We had a wonderful stay at Barb’s place and truly enjoyed our time on her farm! The location by the river is so peaceful—you can hear the soothing sound of the water all the time, which is perfect for escaping city noise. The views are beautiful, with amazing mountain scenery all around. Barb is incredibly kind and welcoming, and she let us explore the farm and spend time with the animals, which made our stay even more special. It’s a fantastic place to relax—we highly recommend it!

Great little place, nice parking spot, propane grill and grilling utensils was a nice plus. Not bad to get in and out with a small trailer. My only complaint was the porta-potty is not cleaned frequently enough and was not leveled so it rocked back and forth. Other than that the spot is quiet and comfortable.

The host was very friendly and accommodating! The bathroom are extremely clean and they even had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the showers which is above approach! Additionally, you are at the top of a mountain and have incredible views at this campground. I would definitely recommend this campground!
