I widened the gate and moved my mailbox for easier access. Butane fire rings allowed on private property during a fire ban .
Camp anywhere on 60 acres. In one direction there are rolling meadow. Another rocky outcropping. Look to the south and you’ll see the BLM land that shares my fence line. If you want access to town you’re there. You choose how you want to feel. In the woods, in the forest, on huge rocks, flat land or turn around and see CR 1 ( 1/4 mile driveway). Forty five minutes west of Colorado Springs, ten miles to Divide for grocers. One half mile to ice, gas, pizza etc. It is first come first serve with the sites. Two that are near trees for large RVs. One up higher works for pull thru trailers. Plenty of room in the pasture. I just got my first negative review referring to it being dry prairie land. Some pictures are from late last summer.. We haven’t had enough rain yet for it to green up. Also it can be windy.

Fire danger is great in our dry climate.
This is mountain living so take care when on the property. Lots of uneven ground around the property. The views are spectacular but with that comes the risk of a windy day once in a while too.
COLORADO WINTER TRAVEL:
There is a possibility of snowy roads anytime from September through March. It's such fickle weather. One day can be sunny and 50 degrees and the next day a 6-inch snowfall. Generally, the roads clear up within a day or two of a snowfall so the impact isn't too troublesome.
If you rent our place in this time frame, good all season tires are advisable. Our driveway is fairly flat and the county road to the house is plowed often.
If there is a snowfall during your stay, we will have the driveway plowed out if we get more than 4 inches of snow and after the snow has stopped falling. If a snowfall lasts more than a single day, we may have it plowed out each day of a snowfall if more than 4 inches accumulate.
Use caution during any snowfall as ground can become unexpectedly slippery.

If you stick out too far, you need to park North to South , which is parallel to the wood fence with the customer parking signs on it. You can block the handicap signs also if needed. This is mountain living so take care when on the property. Lots of uneven ground around the property. The views are spectacular but with that comes the risk of a windy day once in a while too.
COLORADO WINTER TRAVEL:
There is a possibility of snowy roads anytime from September through March. It's such fickle weather. One day can be sunny and 50 degrees and the next day a 6-inch snowfall. Generally, the roads clear up within a day or two of a snowfall so the impact isn't too troublesome.
If you rent our place in this time frame, good all season tires are advisable. Our driveway is fairly flat and the county road to the house is plowed often.
If there is a snowfall during your stay, we will have the driveway plowed out if we get more than 4 inches of snow and after the snow has stopped falling. If a snowfall lasts more than a single day, we may have it plowed out each day of a snowfall if more than 4 inches accumulate.
Use caution during any snowfall as ground can become unexpectedly slippery.

We absolutely loved this place, I wish we could have stayed longer. It was a very beautiful place with lots of mule deer. The deer sometimes hanging out 15-20 ft from the camper. The price was a little higher than I thought it should be since there was not much area to hike or walk trails however, we would stop there again as it was one of our favorite places on this road trip.

I have no clue how we didn’t know about this place sooner! I don’t think I have been so happy with an RV spot for a while. Not only the sites are great , but if you have a horse , you can bring it too ? Wow ! On top of that , there is shooting range on the property, tower where you can look at the stars , you can stay in a cabin , tiny home , RV or a tent . Want to try riding a horse ? They offer lessons , and if that isn’t your gem , you can rent an ATV or simply go for a round of pool in rec center. Did I mention hot tub and sauna ? Yeah , they have that too!

What an amazing experience this was, staying at Erin's hostel! I'd never been to a hostel before but can say with confidence I'll definitely come back through the next time I'm in Colorado Springs. The atmosphere was welcoming, supportive, and I felt extremely safe. It felt a bit like a grown-up summer camp--there were activities every day, nightly dinners (for a super reasonable fee), and it was the perfect place to set up with my shuttle bus for a couple of days as I passed through. I would highly recommend it!

The monument was interesting, but they don't show you very many genuine fossils, only replicas. So if you want to look at some petrified wood and are in for a walk, it will meet those expectations.
