If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with a few close friends or your family, this option is for you. Tucked in along the South Fork of the American River, this beautiful campsite features picnic benches, a propane fire pit with propane included (fire pits help prevent wildfires), and a prep table for fixing up those tasty fireside meals in group sites.
Guests also have access to shared bathroom facilities (and yes, there are showers!), volleyball, ping pong, communal benches, a sink and dishwashing station, and a common swimming area along the river.
Most sites are within a very short walking distance to the banks of the South Fork of the American River, this place is ideal for anyone interested in experiencing the beauty of the foothills and the rush of the river. We offer both tent and RV sites.
Each RV site includes its own picnic table, water and 30Amp power hookups. Guests will also have access to our volleyball court, ping pong, communal benches, and a common area with a sink and dishwashing station. Additionally, you can access the swim area and go for a dip to cool off on a hot day.
We offer toilets, showers, trash disposal, potable water and more depending on the site you chose. Leashed pets 45 pounds or less are allowed as well.
Enjoy biking, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, paddling, climbing, swimming, whitewater rafting, and wildlife watching all nearby, or on site.

We are a small privately owned small campground (20 sites only) located on the outskirts of Placerville. The property features 86.5 secluded Tahoe like acres with beautiful year-round Weber Creek. The camp sites are placed along the creek or the bluff overlooking the creek. We have traditional dirt camping, canvas tents on platforms, teepees and glamping tents for those that want the comforts of home. We are tent camping only with only one site that allows a small travel trailer or van. (#14) . We are dog friendly and allow dogs in all but 5 glamping sites. We do enforce camp rules especially our quiet time between 10 PM and 7 AM
We’ve been told that we have a “family camp” vibe. We are a great place for families wanting a safe environment for their kids but also several group sites for those that want to hang out together with multiple families. We are also a great base site for those wilderness enthusiasts with access to all the El Dorado National Forest including Desolation but want a hot shower at the end of the day.
We have a lodge that is stocked with games and a ping pong table. The lodge has a microwave, Keurig machine and a hot water kettle for those hot drinks (BYO Cups).We have several tables set up for those that want to eat inside as well as multiple picnic tables along the side of the lodge with overhead protection. We have electricity at the at the lodge for small appliances and charging phones. We have a compressor on site to blow up your air mattresses or float toys. We’ve been told that our bathrooms are the “cleanest” ever and have changing tables and diaper pails. We offer nice flushing toilets and hot showers! We have many extra amenities including a compressor to use for your air mattresses,
For outdoor activities we have basketball, volleyball, pickleball and cornhole not to mention the playground with swing set . We have hiking trails throughout the property. Our highlight is a camp fire bowl with bench seating with a stage to display camper talent which is perfect for the evening fire and roasting s’mores (bring the fixings).
The creek starts out in spring looking like a rushing river featuring many fishing and swimming holes. As the summer progresses the water level falls but is still great for water play and fishing.
We have propane BBQs (we provide the propane for BBQs) located throughout the property. We also have a propane grill and charcoal BBQ located in the common area for all to use. There is a dutch oven pit also in the fire bowl area.
We do not allow wood fires at the individual sites but each site has a propane firepit for ambiance (not cooking) that requires you to purchase a 20 lb. propane cannister on site (add in extras) or pay cash on site.
No internet service. There is limited internet only available for purchases at the setore.
We require a 3 night minimum for the major holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. We do exclusive events so you may need to explore multiple weekends to find the right reservation.
We are located in the foothills so we are a short hop to many local attractions that include river rafting, gold mines, wineries and historical towns with great eating establishments. Tahoe is less than an hour away and there a many hiking trails within 20-30 minutes.
We have a limited number of items to rent i.e, tents, cots, camp stoves, etc. We rent a battery pack for those that use a cpap. We also have a small store on site for those items you forgot and a good selection of ice cream and ice. We take venmo or cash.

A great place to star gaze. There are many great places to hike, take a dip in the Bear River or just relax by the creek and unwind from the city life. Just a short walk to the Bear River. A small stream runs right through the property. You may even book the stream site to enjoy it close up. A very short drive to Emerald Pools, Lake Spaulding and South Yuba River. Truckee or North Shore Lake Tahoe just 30-40 minute drive for a day trip. There is also a great eatery just up the road, right off Highway 80, if you are interested in a lunch out. What ever you came to the forest for, it is all waiting for you at Camp WAN-NA-B at Bear Valley., forest therapy! This area is know for gold panning and we are located right down the road from a historical gold mine, Donner Mine Camp.

Bright Bear Camp is a private two-acre property bordering Tahoe National Forest. We are located at 4300' elevation down a mostly dirt road along the beautiful Bear River and Bear Valley. This is a very peaceful spot among the trees with a small meadow and creek on the property.

We had a great one night stay at RockNWater Cove Camping! We stayed in Curley w/ an RV but definitely want to return to camp at one of the tent spots. The hosts, Kris and her husband, were super nice and answered lots of questions we had. The river access is really pretty w/ a nice beach area. Plusses are flush toilets, showers, propane fire pits with propane provided, potable water and electric hook ups. Looking forward to going back next summer!

We had a wonderful stay! The campsite is set in a quiet and naturally beautiful spot along the American River — peaceful and relaxing with gorgeous scenery all around. The hosts were fantastic — very welcoming with great communication, and they made sure we had everything we needed. The location is perfect for hiking, with easy access to nearby trails. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a serene getaway with great hosts and plenty of nature to enjoy!

Super easy check in and check out. Camp site was perfect though a little close to the neighbors. Showers, restrooms and trash cans were all well maintained. Food and coffee was close. The river is pretty amazing. If the camp sites by the river are full, it can get a little crowded and noisy down there. Epic place. Hosts were awesome

Wonderful site among the trees! Kelley welcomed us and gave us a tour of all the amenities. The camp was full that night, but very quiet and peaceful, we didn’t hear any of our neighbors. Would definitely book again!

We loved camping at RocknWater Cove. Really spacious, clean portapotties, it was great to have propane firepits, showers and so many picnic tables for our group. The little beach is amazing, and it was fun to hang out and cheer on the whitewater rafters during the days. Paul the camp host came by periodically to make sure we were well taken care of. The two sites nearest the water were best for beach access + privacy, and Oak was the best for beach access + gathering with our whole group.

This is a beautiful campground! We were there midweek in September and the place was so quiet and lovely. The site for our little RV was spacious, exceedingly manicured and was nestled in some gorgeous trees. They provided a gas campfire, complete with a propane tank. The showers and bathrooms were very clean. There was a sweet trail to the river where there was a beach area and a bit of shade for the warm day. The river was still running high (watched some kayakers and rafters go by) so a bit too rough for swimming. This is definitely a place we will go to again! My favorite HipCamp site this summer!

Moe campsite is a nice private nook. The bathroom and shower amenities are convenient and clean. Lovey river spot just a short walk from the campsite. The campground was very quiet in September, mostly had the place to ourselves. Hosts are attentive and kind.

Beautiful river, very very cold...amazing view, but you have to walk a bit to get there. and if there are other campers - there would not be much room to hang out around the river, which is the whole point of this place. we were lucky to be there by ourselves.

Great area..lots of trees and shade. Fun to be more off grid and away from a traditional campground. Host,Lorrie, is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area for places to hike wander and play in the river.
Very much in line with outdoor ethic and leave no trace concepts. We will definitely return for a longer visit.

Nice little campground right along the river, with your own little private beach.
Flush toilets, showers, games, are all available.
The hosts were super nice and greeted us the day we arrived.
We did leave a day early because of the heat, but we will definitely be back in cooler weather!
