2 nights at Wackalulu's Wonderland
Lynda was very friendly and helpful. The property has amazing themed sites to lounge at and are large enough for a group or family if you rent both sites (cabin and boathouse). The cozy cabin has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Lynda has taken a lot of time to ensure the cabin is well stocked with useful items so you only need to bring clothes, toiletries, and food to have a great stay. We loved using the hot tub/fire pit at night and reading or playing board games on the covered porch during the day. The dimmable lights in the cabin and on the patio were such a nice touch! The cabin and surrounding area felt very private. The nearby of town of Monte Rio is within walking distance (or a quick drive) and has multiple restaurants (the food from Sarah’s Kitchen in the Highland Dell was very good). This is also a great location as there’s so much to do nearby. You’re close to the coast and multiple small towns to explore. I highly recommend staying here and cannot wait to come back!

Lynda and Rich were friendly, funny, and welcoming. Simple check in with recommendations in the neighborhood.
The photos don’t do the property justice - it is beautiful, silly, and unique. Each spot has its own privacy, and it feels like you are in your own little grove.
You’re also right next to a wonderful breakfast/lunch spot, and just a few minutes from the Russian River and Guerneville.
I highly recommend the Wackalulu Cozy Cabin to anyone reading this!

Weekend Trip to Wackalulu's Wonderland
We had the most amazing experience staying at Lynda and Rick’s Hipcamp, the Wakalulu in the boathouse. From start to finish, everything was incredible—though I think our dog Moon might have out-partied us! Lynda and Rick were fantastic hosts, so warm and kind, and the care and detail they put into their home was truly inspiring. You can see their love not only for hosting, but also for design and all things tiki. Every corner felt thoughtful and special. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home, yet transported at the same time. This spot has officially become an annual destination for us—hopefully more than once a year—and we look forward to making many more memories here with friends and family. 💛 Daniel and Rachel + Moon

The cozy cabin was a wonderful stay!. Our hosts were very helpful, sharing all the information that we would need. There were so many thoughtful details. The hot tub was great, there were so many places to sit and enjoy the beautiful property, it felt private, the cabin was very clean, and we had everything we could want in the kitchen including coffee and a press pot. We would definitely stay again. Highest recommendation!!!

Nestled in a beautifully wooded enclave next to a creek, Lynda and Rich have created a yabba dabba doo whimsical cabin in the woods. We stayed in the main cabin and enjoyed all the comforts of home in a cozy cabin with all of the amenities one would need; a fully operational kitchen with coffee, dishes, a microwave, and a good sized fridge/freezer with lots of counter space, I have to mention the extremely comfortable bed and bedding, with optional warming on each individual side of the bed in case of cool nights. Fans and screens perfectly placed to keep the cabin cool on a warmer day. The cabin is located between Sebastopol and Jenner in Monte Rio and everything is 15 mins away… though the minute you sit and put your feet up you feel transported hundreds of miles away from civilization and relaxation greets you immediately. We recommend this site if you are looking for immersion into nature with the comforts of a rustic, cozy cabin in the woods!

Wackalulus Wonderland was so fun! Lynda, Rich and Bo were beyond beyond gracious and fun. We stayed in the Boat House and it was so cozy and comfy. We had sole access to a fully outfitted kitchen with a great deck area. There are so many separate spots to hang out, socialize or spend time alone appreciating the trees and the busy birds. Walking along the creek bed and just marveling at nature. It's close enough to golf, dining, the river....something for everyone. We can't wait to go back!

Wonderful getaway—magical grove with little surprises around every corner. We relaxed around the fire annoyed the patio and hot tub. But there’s also a tiki bar, a pirate-themed lounge, a trains, gnomes, and pink flamingos. A lovely couple hosting with lots of hospitality! The lodgings here were clearly created with a lot of love. Our stay far exceeded our expectations. Lynda & Rich went way above and beyond to answer our questions, and provide information about local activities.
The hosts did a great job of creating a number of cozy seating areas on the property.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TRIP:

Hanging out in the hot tub
Enjoying a coffee out on the porch
Hanging out in the area overlooking the creek, in front of a cozy fire
Picking ripe blackberries
Grilling salmon and vegetables on the outside grill
We ended up upgrading to the Cozy Cabin, which was a better choice for us, since the bathroom and kitchen were part of the building. We were very comfortable there. The place was decorated with a lot of love and care, and lots of amenities. Would highly recommend

Spent the weekend with another couple, and we had a fantastic time. The hosts are AMAZING and went above and beyond. There are two rentals, and we had the property to ourselves. The thought and planning that went into their vacation rental far exceeded our expectations. Plenty of space to hang out lots of activities nearby. Cant wait to come back and make more memories!

We had such a wonderful stay at Wackalulu’s Wonderland this past weekend! Lynda and Rich were absolutely amazing hosts—so welcoming and attentive. They took the time and care to give us a thoughtful tour of the property, making sure we knew where everything was and felt comfortable from the start.
The property itself is very cool and unique, with just about everything you could need for a relaxing weekend getaway. From the setup to the little details, you can tell how much love and effort has gone into creating this space.
We had an incredible experience and would definitely make another trip out here. Highly recommend staying at Wackalulu’s Wonderland if you’re looking for a fun, memorable Hipcamp adventure!

This property is beyond special. From the moment we entered the gate, we were hooked. We stayed in the Cozy Cabin, which was absolutely amazing. The thoughtfulness on how they put the place together was incredible. Lynda Lu has a gift for making the space eclectic and fun, while throwing in a few classy touches that anyone would love. The hot tub was perfect to warm up in the morning, and relaxing before bed. The grounds lit up and night making the whole property look like a wonderland. Rich and Lynda were gracious hosts, even offered up apples and blackberries from the property! What really struck me was how clean even the deck area and outdoor seating areas were. Not a spider web in site! We can’t wait to come back with the family!

Three of us rented the two cabins for a weekend of relaxation. Such a fabulous space with so many lovely areas to hang out. The host was very gracious. Loved all of the tiki decor. We enjoyed barbecuing and sitting around the fire pit area, and hot tub. I would definitely return to this delightful little haven.

Lynda/Rich have done wonders to their amenities-laden property to make any visit a very memorable one. I'd venture the kitchen alone will conjure up visions of Disneyland, Waikiki Beach and Surf City USA, all rolled up in one. My pup (enjoyed roaming the spacious area and meeting friendly, laid-back Bogie, the host doggie) and I were quite comfortable sleeping in the Boathouse, overlooking a creek, that offered much privacy and seclusion. The bathroom reminded me of the TikiTiki Room, if memory serves, with their bamboo walls. Clean fun can be had there! Yet, the spacious kitchen is what really can make your imagination romp! If you're a surfer, SCUBA and/or abalone diver, and/or just a plain ole beach bum at heart who enjoys hoisting margaritas at the local beachside shack, this place is for you. The theme is best experiences by photos. And Lynda and Rich are super-nice, friendly and sociable people. They definitely made me feel at home, sharing a part of themselves, and telling about how they came to develop their land. No doubt, I'll be visiting, again, as I would as if they were close family.

Group trip
Staying at Hoppers was truly an unforgettable experience. When we went there were 11 of sweetest puppies, and 4 dare I say sweeter doggy parents and grandparents. (They were all equally sweet)
Hopper was accommodating to us and such a thoughtful host. The yurt was very cozy and beautifully deisgned. His approach to sustainability is novel and special.
As someone who loves to camp in Joshua Tree, Sequoia and Kings Canyon, the area was the was the darkest night sky I’ve seen in a long long time. If you want more comfort than camping at salt point, but still be immersed in the north coast nature this is the place to be.
10/10 recommend
