The Meadow Grove is a wild and natural pasture with campsites located near the historic Narrow Gauge Railroad bed on a family owned working ranch in coastal Northern California. The camp sites are nestled in a pasture and grove of mixed Eucalyptus, willow and cypress trees. The sites are perfect for tents or camper vans, or small trailers. [When we open in the spring, the grass can be 'slippery' and it is recommended you have 4WD. Around mid-June it is dried out enough for 2WD access to all sites]. Not suitable for RVs
It is also, managed and operated by a single mother. Please keep this in mind.
Notes about the campsites are: They each come with a picnic table. The grounds are a working ranch, so there is variations of the soil- some lumps and bumps and general natural state of a pasture v. a groomed lawn. Site #1, #2, #3, and #4 have the most level areas for parking and tent-ing.
Up until mid-June, we recommend #1 for 2WD access. Campervans that do not have 4WD may have trouble accessing other sites. Please remember this when you book!

There is a composting camp toilet, we do not have running water at the campground.
The ranch itself is 300 acres of rolling hills pasture, with hilltop views of the Estero Americano valley. The Meadow Grove is home to many varieties of raptors and other birds-providing excellent bird watching. Seasonally there are blackberries to fill your containers, and some hiking. We are mere minutes from the quaint towns of Valley Ford, Tomales, and Dillon Beach, and a short drive from Bodega, Bodega Bay or Marshall, Pt. Reyes Station and Inverness. Nearby attractions include: Sonoma Coast beaches, Pt. Reyes National Seashore, coastal hiking trails, local farm-to-table eateries.
Inland attractions include: redwoods, wine tasting, Russian River activities and so much more.
The ranch borders Hwy 1, so there is some degree of road noise. Traffic usually dies down mid afternoon, and isn't too much of a disturbance. Virtually all traffic on our stretch of road is daytime traffic. There can be however, some heavy weekend traffic during the day with car clubs and motorcycle riders enjoying the coastal highway.

Located right off coastal US highway 1, Timber Cove campground sits right at the edge of breathtaking, oceanside cliffs. We are situated on roughly two acres of land, with multiple campsites for tent/car camping or RV’s. Each bluff campsite has a picnic table, fire pit and water. Electricity is available to use for an extra fee. The beach and waterfall campsites do not have picnic tables so you might want to bring one if you’ve booked there. We have separate men’s and women’s flush bathrooms, with coin-operated hot showers. We have firewood with kindling for sale on site, payable with cash or Venmo. Please take note of local fire bans, when in effect. Dog friendly, though be advised a leash is recommended as we are close to the road, but they can run leash-free down at the beach. We are located 30 minutes north of the town of Jenner, with Gualala 30 minutes to the north. Gualala has grocery stores, a post office, and some shops. Fort Ross Store is located one mile down the road, just before Timber Cove, and sells basic food necessities, drinks, sandwiches, ice and gas. Internet cell service can be spotty in our area, depending on your provider, so bring your own Starlink services if you have them. We also have access to the beach below, and offer beach camping as well. Take note that the road down to the beach is steep with uneven terrain. The weather can vary quickly here, so be sure to bring multiple layers of clothing and camp gear for various types of weather, and headlamps are useful for getting around the property at night!

We invite you to experience the beautiful wilderness of upper Calistoga. Our land is true wilderness, with some development of trails and amenities, at our Calistoga ranch just 10 minutes outside of town.
Our ranch has been newly renamed after my new son Dylan, born where I live out of state, who will inherit this family land of 100+ years. Dylan's Ranch is our newest project over the last 3 years, creating the campsites after we created the trails for our wedding in summer 2022.

Slide Ranch is a nonprofit organization established in 1970, becoming one of the first Park Partners in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Slide Ranch is located on the Marin coast, on land that has a rich history in connecting people to food. The Coast Miwok once fished and foraged for food at this site, and in the late 19th century Portuguese dairy farmers purchased the land and produced milk and butter for residents of San Francisco. In 1969, 134 acres of this fertile coastline were rescued from commercial development. Slide Ranch camping fees directly fund scholarships for youth programs throughout the year.
Slide Ranch is an unpaved ranch environment. Our trails and garden paths all consist of uneven, sloping terrain, often muddy or soft ground during the winter season, and may be challenging to access for visitors with significant mobility restrictions.

All campers get access to our hand built cob kitchen and the epic dining hall deck. There is a communal gas fire pit and BBQ. It’s a very sunny property so please bring a canopy for shade if you want it over your campsite, remember to bring stakes, it can be windy here.
*Water is gold here so make every drop count, arrive with water conservation in mind. And please bring your own drinking water=)
*We are off-grid with no amenities from the city so please be mindful of how much trash you’ll leave behind. If drinking alcoholic beverages we ask that campers take their empties. Ask for a bag if you need it.
*We ask campers to arrive between 1pm at 9pm. If possible a general ETA helps as well.

Slide Ranch is a nonprofit organization established in 1970, becoming one of the first Park Partners in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Slide Ranch is located on the Marin coast, on land that has a rich history in connecting people to food. The Coast Miwok once fished and foraged for food at this site, and in the late 19th century Portuguese dairy farmers purchased the land and produced milk and butter for residents of San Francisco. In 1969, 134 acres of this fertile coastline were rescued from commercial development. Slide Ranch camping fees directly fund scholarships for youth programs throughout the year.
Slide Ranch is an unpaved ranch environment. Our trails and garden paths all consist of uneven, sloping terrain, often muddy or soft ground during the winter season, and may be challenging to access for visitors with significant mobility restrictions.
Minors aged 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
No pets allowed; service animals are permitted.
We do not have showering facilities or flush toilets. Water in all Slide Ranch taps is potable for refilling water bottles/jugs. Soap is provided for hand washing.

For 70 years the Nelson family has been farming vineyards and attracting people every year to the beautiful region of Hopland. It is truly a family affair as each generation has put in their time and energy, infusing this ranch with their own flair.
In 1951 Herman and Clara Nelson sold their ranch in what is now Silicon Valley and headed north, landing in Southern Mendocino County near the town of Hopland. All campers get access to our hand built cob kitchen and the epic dining hall deck. There is a communal gas fire pit and BBQ. It’s a very sunny property so please bring a canopy for shade if you want it over your campsite, remember to bring stakes, it can be windy here.
*Water is gold here so make every drop count, arrive with water conservation in mind. And please bring your own drinking water=)
*We are off-grid with no amenities from the city so please be mindful of how much trash you’ll leave behind. If drinking alcoholic beverages we ask that campers take their empties. Ask for a bag if you need it.
*We ask campers to arrive between 1pm at 9pm. If possible a general ETA helps as well.
*Please keep your dog on a leash at all times. Our animals roam freely. *
It’s always a journey finding magical places so just a sweet heads up, our mountain dirt road is a bit bumpy. Cars make it up all the time, stay at a steady speed=)

We absolutely loved our stay at Brenda’s cliffside campsite along Highway One — it’s remote in all the best ways. Perched between redwoods and sweeping ocean views, the scenery is breathtaking. You can hear the waves crash below and watch the cliffs glow at sunset — pure Northern California magic.
Brenda, the host, was warm and responsive. She shared stories and even pictures about her family’s history on the land, and helped us troubleshoot a couple of Airstream hiccups (we’re new to it!). Her love for the property really shines through.
We stayed at a spot with a built‑in porch — perfect for relaxing. There are also cute cottages and grassy tent sites right on the bluff. The facilities are clean, with hot coin‑operated showers, and Brenda has firewood and quarters on hand.
Bring your supplies; there’s only a small market with sandwiches and basics nearby. My husband rode his mountain bike on the quiet roads, and I explored nearby trails that were peaceful and nearly empty. We brought our two dogs, and the property was super dog‑friendly — they loved roaming around and smelling all the great smells.
It’s special, scenic, and enchanting! We can’t wait to come back!

There was a little mixup with the booking program. But the people at the ranch called me and switched me to campsite six. I was able to make it work and still get in a quick out and back weekend. I enjoyed the location and had been there many times as a kid. It was nice to go back with daughter and show her the lake. We were unable to book one of the trail rides, but that’s definitely on the list for next time.

We loved tent camping here. Check in was quick and easy, Brenda was very nice and knowledgeable, the site itself was incredible with great views and the overall experience was great. My dog loved the campsite and enjoyed time at the beach with some of the other dogs. Only thing to keep in mind is ticks, they’re everywhere so be alert and check yourself and your pets often.

We loved camping here! Beautiful campsite and the host Brenda is super nice and helpful. She had great recommendations of where to go. This campground is close to timber cove resort which has a nice walking path along the ocean. The campground is also short driving distance to beautiful hikes and beaches. We plan on coming back! If you have dog just be sure to give them tick medication before camping here there are a lot of ticks in the area.

Weekend Trip to Moon Bear wildlife Sanctuary
My friend and stayed in both the Tree House and Cedar Cabin for two night best friend healing and connecting getaway. Both spaces are so beautiful, clean, and cozy. The entired property is so stunning and we had so much fun exploring every nook and cranny we could (loved the scavenger hunt!).
Jessica and Brit are amazing hosts. They welcome us with open arms and surprised us with little treats and gifts throughout the stay (thank you for the kombucha Brit!).
We did a healing sound bath lead by Jessica under the redwoods and it was spectacular.
I highly recommend staying here and when you do, take your time exploring their land and soaking up mother nature.
The property is also very close to town if you want to have a meal out or explore the shops. We took a detour home to Bodega Bay to get a bit of ocean time.

One of the most incredible coastal campsites we’ve stayed at
This place is something special. Our campsite sat right on the bluff with a 180+ degree panoramic view of the Pacific, and you can even see toward Fort Ross down the coastline. Falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing below the cliffs was unforgettable.
We brought our 27 ft RV, and the site handled it easily (looks like rigs up to about 30 ft fit fine). Having electric and water hookups made it very comfortable, and surprisingly there is Wi-Fi, which was helpful since cell service can be spotty along the Sonoma coast.
One of the highlights is the private feeling beach access just a short walk down from camp. There’s a small cove with a waterfall flowing into the ocean, and it honestly felt like we had our own little piece of coastline. Our dogs had off-leash freedom and absolutely loved exploring the beach and cliffs.
Brenda, the host, is fantastic. She went out of her way to make sure everything was good for us and was incredibly friendly and welcoming.
Bathrooms were clean and the coin-operated hot showers work great (bring quarters).
The only thing to be aware of is that because it’s a natural coastal grass area, we did encounter a few ticks, so it’s worth checking pets and clothes after walking around the campsite or trails.
Overall this felt like a hidden gem on the Sonoma Coast — incredible views, dog friendly, peaceful, and a host who genuinely cares about the place. We’d absolutely come back.
