4 nights at Salmon Creek RV Camping

I tent camped with a group of four and had a great experience on this property! The site had all the comforts we needed—power, WiFi, a refrigerator, hot shower, and a port-a-potty. While the two camp/RV sites share amenities, there’s so much space that it never felt crowded or inconvenient. Lena and Bryan were kind, responsive, and very accommodating throughout our stay. We visited for the Avenue of the Giants Marathon, and the location was perfect distance-wise. The property is peaceful and beautiful, with plenty of flexibility to tailor your setup. My only tip: bring extension cords and check in with the hosts ahead of time to confirm which amenities will be available during your stay.

Weekend Trip to Radio Ranch Camp

This place is a total gem. The creek scenery and sounds and lush green were incredible. Deeply nourishing. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Like a white cloud. I begged the owner for the links to buy the pillow and comforter lol. There is a cool massage room and had a very relaxing massage. Only thing I would do different is rented a tent closer to the spring because it’s too beautiful not to be close.

Absolutely charming, well appointed, private and restful. I had a wonderful time, felt safe and well cared for. Shannon is gracious and welcoming. Every detail was taken care of. The historic vibe was the best!

We had a wonderful time at Radio Ranch. We had initially planned on doing several hikes while in that area, but after spending one day on the ranch, we didn’t want to leave. It was so relaxing just to sit by the waterfall and read! All of the accommodations and amenities were perfect and we were really comfortable. I would 100% recommend this place!

Weekend Trip to Dark Fairy Farms

another incredible stay here. stanley the host pup was happy to greet me right away. sara was very welcoming again as well, and offered me a reiki session for an extra charge. it was incredible. highly recommend if you are open to that kind of thing. i really enjoy the cabin in this weather. it was not really rainy, but very moody and foggy. i was cozy and wish i could have stayed longer.

Wonderful, small private campground in a beautiful part of Northern California. Pretty creek running through the property, plenty of flat places for camping. We camped in spot three and loved it. There is a road above the campground, but traffic is very infrequent and did not bother us at all. Shannon was super quick communicating and made our stay even better.

This was the first time we used Hipcamp and we were very pleased. The setting was beautiful, quiet and private and the host was very pleasant and accommodating. There is a mt bike and hiking trail system a short walk away. It was a great place to spend a couple of nights.

The host was the loveliest person and made me feel super comfortable upon entry since I was the only one on the site. The dome is beautiful, clean, and all the amenities you could need are on the site. Me and my dog had a lovely night under the stars.

This land is absolutely beautiful and gorgeous views over the field. Sydney and Jim are very friendly and welcoming hosts! We loved that we were able to shower here and even enjoy a fire! Definitely recommend, just make sure you go through the right gate!! I made that mistake lol.

This location was absolutely stunning. The creek is beautiful and sings you to sleep. The trees surround you and greet you each morning. The bathroom is very clean and well kept. Shannon was lovely and very helpful as well. We will not only be returning but already have other people looking to use the site as well.

Great site! Brian welcomed us and explained everything about the place. Nice and quiet, went for a short walk down the road and had a nice evening. Views of the valley and surrounding hills. April is great time of year to visit.

Beautiful spot, great view. Very nice to have power, potable water, Wifi, and a port-a-pot to avoid filling up our black tank. We were the only ones there, which made it extra nice. If multiple people were there, it looks like they’d be lined up end to end. Nice Adirondack chairs and picnic table under a lighted shade tree. Hosts were very friendly when they met us upon our arrival.

I loved camping at JoRo's land! Perch Riverview Glamping will definitely be my choice for next time - it looked SO amazing and offered a view of the river from the bed itself and the interior looked oh so cozy, clean, and adorably designed. *I was staying at the campground alone so got a chance to look around. The kitchen and shower facilities also looked amazing. The meadow was great, there was a lovely fire pit and outhouse. It wasn't the flattest meadow of all, but flat enough to be comfortable. I didn't figure out how to access the river, but that's on me as I didn't ask. Also didn't see a difference between site 16 and 24. The host was super responsive and gave great directions on how to get there as it is quiet tricky - just a little turnoff that's easy to miss. I was a solo traveller and definitely felt safe here.

We had a great experience at this glamping location. Out Host Johana was very kind and accommodative lady. We had very pleasant experience during April spring break. We had 2 young children and total 4 of us stayed in a single canvas tent facing meadow. The entire campsite was for us and only last night another family occupied another tent site. Host provided us all basic kitchen facilities, flush toilet, hot showers and even big kitchen sink with hot water, potable water, cooking pans and dishes! Only one thing to notice is entrance is very tricky to find. and it was quite muddy too! This muddy entrance gives an opportunity to wash your car thoroughly. otherwise the location is very scenic, very close to nature. serene and pristine on the bank of Trinity river. I will love to visit again.

Have it all and relax at our forest glen located in Southern Humboldt 5 miles up private dirt road (2 wheel drive OK- but sports car height is not good ( IE not a BMW or Tesla)--higher clearance is best.) Our land is part of an old collectively owned by "back to the landers" group from the 70's. The parcel is over 500 acres, but our portion is about 40 acres. There is a large deepwater pond with a rowboat (and frogs) orchard, stream, and many hiking trails my husband created and dirt roads winding through the property. 420 friendly! Enjoy the birds in the morning and frogs on the pond at night from your well equipped tent with queen mattress and comfy comforters, sitting space, and wood counter for food prep. ( propane ok) No fires allowed at site but enjoy the large communal fire pit and terrace steps away. Our deep water pond (15 ft) is FULL and ready for warm summer swims. Wifi and electric for charging and an electric water kettle for coffee making is available at the communal space. EV charging is possible but slow off of our solar panels. Hiking trails on our 500 acre property and Lost Coast Trail at Shelter Cove Black Sands beach is 1 hour away. Ave of the Giants is 45 minutes away. We encourage 2 night stays as it is a bit of a trek to get here. Your hosts have everything you might need ( cooking wise) and can arrange for cooking equipment and utensils. Need Paella pans? Paella is our passion and we can offer a Paella Cookout customized to your dietary needs for an additional fee. We are 5 miles up a private dirt road ( 2 wheel drive is ok but caution to lower clearance vehicles) You will be deep in the relaxing forest. The 16 foot bell tent is quite large and can accommodate 2 more travelers. However they would need to provide sleeping bags and mats. Children under 10 not recommended The Chimes tent is slightly smaller 13 foot bell tent set on a platform 6 feet off the ground-- literally in the trees! We provide one citronella candle. Don't forget your headlamps. We are 35 miles (once on the pavement) to Lost Coast Trail and Shelter Cove. 20 miles to Ave of the Giants.

Humboldt hideaway is a small intimate SHARED space with residents. The outdoor kitchen, deck with a view, and campfire ring are all connected to the main resident house. There are places of seclusion, but much of it is shared outdoor space. Humboldt Hideaway is a small off-the-grid LGBTQ+ queer land project in Northern California. It is set on 12 acres of hilly terrain in the mixed fir and oak woods of Humboldt County, a half-hour east of Arcata. Back in 2001, when it was established, it was undeveloped with nothing on it. It has since been built up with the scrappy efforts of amateur creative dreamers. It is a home and resource to extended LGBTQ+ communities by being a small-scale rural resource for learning and sharing useful rural living skills and being a destination for visits, artist and activist retreats, and host to small groups and events. Anyone is welcome at Humboldt Hideaway, but please understand that it is an intentional place committed to anti-oppression values. It is important that it remain a safer space for people identifying as queer and/or transgender, as well as a supportive space for women and people of color to freely be. Please make sure you do not anticipate any concerns/problems with this. NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: The property is conveniently located midway between the coast/redwoods and the Trinity River/Trinity Alps backpacking. It is a 45 minute drive to the coast of Trinidad, which has some of the most lovely coves and beaches and Patrick's Point State Park. It is a half hour drive to the coastal Ma-le'l dunes. And it is a half hour drive inland to swimming holes on the Trinity River. OFF-THE-GRID: The place is off-the-grid, no internet, only limited solar power, an on-demand propane water heater, and heated by woodstoves. Structures are a combination of natural building, salvaged, and new materials, with a mix of low-tech alternative technologies- all built with lots of love and help from friends. BOOKING A GROUP: There is potentially both cabin space and camping spots. The property can accommodate a group of up to 10 people. If you wish to book a group, please get in touch and we'll have you book all of the spaces- including some that are not currently listed, as they are in the shared lodge space.
