The story starts with the adventure of getting here! Please use any map app to: Holmes, Ca. DO NOT use any map app after this point - IT WILL NOT GET YOU THERE! Once you have made reservations you will receive an email with written directions that must be followed to find this magical place. *WARNING - there is poison oak on the property. Its actually in all the state parks as well - it lovers this climate, so familiarize yourself with its appearance. We do our best to mitigate the camp sites and keep them clear, but it is around. While some people do not react to it, others definitely do and it is no fun. There is an identification poster at the bathrooms. If you come in contact use soap and cold water to wash right away. Now about this beautiful place - This property has been in the family since 1922. During a time of no roads just the railroad that passed through, and a river ferry. At the entrance of the property was the town of Skelly, with a post office, train stop, animal corrals and railroad logging spurs. The lands primary use was ranching and timber back then. The flat that the camp ground is located on is the site of the old Larrabee school house (Georgeson School) which was built after the 1955 flood took out the original school house, located across from the train trussell next to Larabee Creek. The railroad was closed indefinitely in 1996, which changed the entire landscape for this small community. This area is accessible by a low water bridge in the summer months and offers a spot to slip back in time. Today the land is a great example of sustainably harvest redwoods, a project that was established by great grandpa and is still in practice today. The timber surrounds the pastures and farm land that now produces hay. We acquired this land 5 years ago and have spent countless hours restoring the fields, managing the forest and creating a working sustainable environment. It is a very special place and offers peace and quite to those who enjoy the out doors and camping. Just six minutes off the Avenue of the Giants through Holms Flat.

This site is more centrally located in the camp ground and is close to the bathrooms. you have a great stand of trees around you that will offer dappled sunlight all day. This site is flat and has plenty of space to spread out. Plenty of flat for tents.

This campsite is just inside the trees. The site is shaded all day, but sits at the edge of the meadow, the best of both worlds. This campsite is flat and will accommodate a tent under the tress or at the edge of the meadow. Parking is easy and close so you can have all of your stuff near by. This spot offers a beautiful view of the sun coming up over the meadow in the morning.

This site is suitable for a 22 ft travel trailer and or tents. This is an easy pull through or back into site. It is very flat, located in the Redwoods it has plenty of shade. You will get the morning sun here and the sun will set behind the trees. You are directly across from the bathrooms as well. Its a great place to watch the wild life out in the meadow.

I loved camping here, this was actually my first time camping ever. I went with two other friends of mine and we arrived around 5:00pm. The drive in was absolutely beautiful, you drive over the creek and the view is amazing. The drive is a little bumpy but nothing crazy compared to other campsites I went to later in the trip. The campsite is medium sized with pretty good space between each campsite, not enough to feel truly alone but not so close you’re hearing everything they say. We set up and no one bothered us until we needed to walk through one site to use the bathroom and communal sink. Not to mention theres a shower that we used to wash off in the morning. We only stayed for one night but the site is very pretty and the vibe is awesome. Me and my friends would definitely camp here again.

A beautiful drive to our private grove of trees. Creative layout, clean facilities, and able to handle groups as well as individuals. Easy directions to follow. We based there for two nights and that gave us time to easily explore the magnificent Redwoods as well as neighboring towns.

We loved camping on Gina’s land! The sites are spacious and far enough apart to feel private. There were two other sites occupied and we could barely see/hear them. The sunshine through the redwoods was beautiful, the setting is so relaxing. It’s only 30 min from home but felt like another world. I cannot wait for our next stay at Camp Larabee!

Wonderful spot! Loved the kitchen area and the shower looked really cool, didn’t use them as we were just passing through. Although it was just two of us I kept thinking how fun this area could be for a group!

We really enjoyed our first Hipcamp experience! The space was beautiful, with just the right amount of privacy. Gina greeted us upon our arrival and bid us a farewell when departing, but otherwise gave us our privacy. Although there are not water “hook-ups” there was water available at a spigot, which was perfect for our outdoor dishwashing! Our dogs enjoyed the great walk along the road, and we enjoyed the beautiful roadside wildflowers! Would definitely return and recommend to friends.

Beautiful campsite, great common area with showers and outdoor kitchen. Very secluded and sleeping under giant redwoids was amazing. The one drawback, if you arrive at night is the amount of poson oak in and around the campsite (we stayed at site 5), especially if you have dogs. Other than that Laramie is great.

I tent camped and really loved the site! It is only about 15 minutes from the redwood State park using the directions given to you by Gina. The porta potty was clean and there is even a little sink set up with the hose. There is also service with Verizon. Would definitely stay again if I am in the area.

We loved our stay at camp Larabee. The campsites were beautiful, extremely spacious, and secluded. We had the place to ourselves but even if every site had been occupied, there was still a superb amount of privacy and space. Gina was extremely accommodating. We highly highly recommend a stay here!

Amazing campsite! We are privileged that Gina opened up this unique site and made it available for others to experience. (If it was my property, I'd keep it to myself ; ) We stayed with 17' travel trailer and enjoyed being up-close and personal with the majestic redwoods. Sites are very spacious with or without other guests. Water and common areas are well planned and laid out. Gina's property is the perfect getaway to recharge and offers the ideal blend of historic Redwoods, open pastures, and very cool nearby bridges for exploring. Kids were happy, parents were happy, we'll definitely be back.

Campground might be okay for a soundproof trailer, but wasn’t good for tent camping. There was barely any clear ground free of sharp tree droppings or blackberries. I checked all campsites, as we were the only guests there that night- same story at all of them. Tent bottom got a couple holes in it from the thorns. Water spigot had blackberry growing all over the handle. Easy enough to push aside but shows lack of upkeep. Woke up to air horns firing randomly around 6am. A couple hours spent removing blackberry and raking some tent pads would go a long way here.
