The Goat Shed is 88 sq ft of pure cozy! Like camping but within four walls, the Goat Shed has everything you need for a peaceful rural experience. Furnished with a full-size bed, an outdoor sink, basic kitchen amenities, and a shower and a camping potty, the space is perfect for the solo or duo traveler. Located about 4 miles east of I-5, it's a peaceful and safe "pit stop" for those traveling the I-5 corridor. Listen to the coyotes yip at night while you cook dinner on a propane camp stove, then wake up to coffee and a gaggle of turkeys. We are 🌈 friendly and welcome all people. The Goat Shed has no electricity and all lighting is provided by LED rechargeable and/or solar lighting. The northern Sacramento Valley often reaches temperatures over 100* in summer, and can receive light snow in the winter, so be sure to check area temps before booking. Located just outside of Redding, we are centrally located and have easy access to all Shasta County has to offer. Explore Lassen National Park (1 hour drive east along beautiful country roads), Whiskeytown National Recreation Area (20 min drive west), Old Shasta State Historic Park (15 min drive west), and of course, beautiful Mt. Shasta. Don't forget our numerous breweries, Turtle Bay Exploration Park, the Sacramento River, and the Sundial Bridge. Redding is also home to many hiking and biking trails. Super cool!
The Goat Shed
This is an awesome place! I use it as a halfway stop between the bay and bend. Temperature very comfortable in the evening, it does get hot once the sun is up. The owners take really good care of the place and they want guests to have a good stay. There's instructions on how to use everything, which is nice to have when you're not familiar with propane. I had water, coffee, shower, a comfortable bed and the Stars above, not to mention the sweet outside area with a picnic table and some lounge chairs under a gazebo. If the price stays in this range I would stay again 100%.. My first hip camp experience and it was great. I followed the instructions included in the listing and I got there with no problem in the middle of the night.

Cute place to stay! It felt secluded even though we were close to people. Great place to stay if you’re looking for glamping near Lassen or Shasta. We loved it!

Birds and blue oaks
The Goat Shed
Johanna's place is lovely! It's clean and well thought out. She cares for it meticulously. There is outdoor hangout space and a lovely outdoor shower. You can listen to owls and watch the moon from the bed. Lots of cool birds in this blue oak woodland as well. I stayed for a conference at Turtle Bay, and the commute was ten minutes of easy driving. Highly recommend.

Whimsy!
The Goat Shed
Just so so cute! Definitely glamping so come prepared for: -no power, but lovely outdoor patio lights and “mood” indoor lights. -An assortment of wildlife (geese, chickens, birds, coyotes) -a super whimsical little shed bunk with surprise delights inside -a fantastic, responsive host. It was perfect for my overnight weekend getaway from town!

Amazing host, amazing space
The Goat Shed
Johanna was such an amazing host! Very communicative and helpful, but also hands off unless you need something. Which, I didn't once I was there. The goat shed had everything I could possibly need and more! I had forgot the cable to charge my headlamp, but a a charging cable was provided and worked great with the power bank. The hot water was a great touch. I slept great! Will make sure to re-book if I need somewhere to stay in the area again!

I had the loveliest time
The Goat Shed
I had the loveliest time in the goat shed. The space is small but well kitted out with the basics, like battery powered lights, a propane stove, water, dishes, towels and extra blankets. But when I arrived, I also found some extra treats, like nice lotion, oracle cards and hot water left out so that I could make tea when I arrived on a cold night. Johanna couldn't have been nicer. I will 100% come back the next time I'm passing through.

Honestly we loved it. It was obvious how intentional you were with building it and how much love went into the space. Things we loved: - remote: just far enough away from everything that it felt like we were away from the world but close enough we could get things if needed. - patio: great outdoor space - pillows: I seriously wanted to take your pillows with us. Best pillows we have had on this trip - GOAT Shed: the story about the goats was a perfect touch Thanks for helping us have a great weekend getaway.
