Whiskeytown Lake Getaway was perfect! Very pretty and quiet spot to sleep close to the Hwy 5 as we roadtripped from Oregon back home to the Bay Area. Safe, easy to find, and Gerardo was a great host and very responsive. Thank you!!

Such a lovely experience! My partner and I messed up and Gerardo could have easily turned us away for not meeting their hipcamp site requirements, and didn’t. He was very kind and we felt very comfortable. Such a quite spot, definitely recommend!!

Nice clean spot. Had a picnic bench and a hammock at my site which was nice. There’s a disc golf course on the property in a cool 4 mile hike across the street.

Great spot! Very nice getaway in the oaks! Nice frisbee golf setup on the property and a hammock, table, and queens/kings chair at the site. So close to Whiskeytown and the Trinity Alps!

It was a beautiful piece of land, very quiet, a ton of little nature critters. Gerardo was very very nice and helpful! He helped me find my way in, told me all about the land and what was there to do. I absolutely love this place I will definitely go back!

Nice, quiet camping spot that was easy to get to. You're near to some houses, but still feel like you have your own space. The property has big trees and a little creek running through it. Host was a good communicator.

Beautiful rural site between Redding and Whiskeytown NRA.
Unfortunately the hot weather (over 100) made the stay a bit uncomfortable. Make sure you park to take advantage of any breeze.

Great spot to stay close to Redding! We arrived late and had no problems finding the site with the given directions. The big oak tree provided nice shade in this peaceful spot.

This was the first time we used Hipcamp and we were very pleased. The setting was beautiful, quiet and private and the host was very pleasant and accommodating. There is a mt bike and hiking trail system a short walk away. It was a great place to spend a couple of nights.

Have a great couple of nights next to the big oak. Easy to find, good site for setting up the trailer. Hosts were non-intrusive, but present if needed, fortunately they were not. Lots of space, nice open sky for stars if it hadn’t been overcast. Would definitely recommend!

Gerardo’s land was very peaceful. I arrived just before dark. He shared some sites to check out the next day like Sundial Bridge and Whiskeytown Lake (the water was so clear and cool😍). I loved looking at the stars from his property before I fell asleep.
I was in a 24’ class C, RV and learned quickly to drive really slow on Delano Rd, maybe even Swasey. Rd. Things definitely shifted in the camper as soon as I turned off 299.

My family and I spent 1 night here but could have stayed longer if we had the time. We were able to easily accessed the property with our truck while pulling a small trailer. We set up next to the big oak tree and enjoyed the beautiful sunset light and relaxed in the hammock. Walking distance to an archery range and the neighbors have goats and an alpaca that our kids enjoyed visiting. Gerardo was very communicative and came to say hello and check if we needed anything when we arrived.
