Our 220 remote acres are adjacent to Shasta Trinity National Forest in the beautiful Cascade Range between Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta in Northern California. It's a working ranch with tree farms, animals, hydroelectric power, sawmill, gardens, orchards, creeks, springs, trails, and our camp alongside Kosk Creek. We're 54 miles from Redding off of 299E, (about 1-1/2 hour drive). DO NOT TAKE ROAD 11 FROM THE NORTH, IT IS CLOSED! PIease try to ignore the "car art" in the Pit River Tribe's Rancheria as you're coming here. Drive right through it, it's no reflection on us. The last mile or so of the road here can be pretty rough, but on arrival, you'll know it's worth the trip! No Cell phone service available here, so it's the perfect opportunity to unplug. We do have a land line up at the house in case of an emergency. Also, if you really need it, WiFi is available at the house.

Each room sleeps two, can be booked separately. This unit has a coffeemaker, microwave, and barbeque. Very few utensils, water from the hose, picnic table, and just steps to the creek. Share the communal kitchen, fire pit, pizza oven on Sat. nights. Separate bathroom/shower room. If you forget anything, just ask us, or the Pit Stop Store is just 3 miles back into town. They carry beer, bait, ice cream, and anything else you might want. Their motto is "if we ain't got it, you don't need it". The Forest Service Road through our ranch leads to the Nat'l Forest to the north, as well as a trail to our local swimming hole or our pond. Our property is remote but has everything you need to enjoy a private tent or a communal "glamping" experience for your family or cousins reunion, artist retreat, wedding, honeymoon, yoga retreat, or summer vacation. You don’t have to rough it out here, or, you can if you want to. It’s 120 acres of heaven at the end of Big Bend Rd. Shade, water, sandy beach, hiking, relaxing, swimming, world class trout fishing in the area, boating, kayaking, hot springs soak not far away. This listing is a 28 foot trailer with attached screen porch. Has a queen size private bedroom, the front room has a fold out couch to sleep up to 2 more (good for the kids who need to be close to mom and dad). It's creekside, in the shade, with the communal outdoor kitchen, shower room and bathroom adjacent (The trailer is only for sleeping, no water or toilet inside). In the screen porch, there's a full size futon and space for one airbed OR two cots. So all in, it can sleep a maximum of 8 adults and/or kids. Bring your bedding/sleeping bags, or we can provide linens for a one-time $10/person fee. Please let us know in advance. Microwave, small fridge, coffee maker, drinking water in the screen porch.

What a gem! This place is quite magical. Simple. Secluded. Peaceful. Welcoming. The perfect place to escape and be in nature. Use it as launch pad to explore places like Burney Falls. Or just stay on the property. The swimming hole is amazing. It's a must do. Super clean fresh water with rocks to jump off or lounge on. We didn't bring anything to float on so grabbed some cheap tubes at a nearby store and they were perfect. We took up up to the swimming hole to float around on. Even had them out on the more shallow portion of the creek that's by the campground and had fun splashing around. The campsites are well equipped. We did tent camping and our friends got the larger cabin. Communal kitchen/bathroom were clean and equipped with anything you forgot to bring for cooking. And the hosts were so great. We had an amazing pizza night where they supplied the dough and cooked the pizzas in a wood fired stove right on site. It turned into a big potluck with our fellow campers and made it feel like a small community, even if just for the weekend :) Will definitely be coming back.

A truly special place to camp

Room 1 with a view of Kosk Creek

Camp Stoney Meadows is a magical place that offers everything you can possibly love about camping. You can tell the painstaking work that goes into this land as Scott & Nora have truly built a their own little slice of paradise. The campsites sit on a serene creek with plenty of places to sit, dip your toes, and take in all your surroundings. The trails beyond the campsites give way to a large man-made pond with a dock, stand-up paddle boards, floaties, and even a paddle boat. Not only that but, walk a few minutes past the pond, and you will find the most pristine swimming hole. I swear the swim is always purifying. What’s even more charming is how the hosts foster community. At dusk, you can sit by the campfire as you take in the idyllic scenes of the valley at sunset with the other campers. On weekends, Scott provides homemade pizza dough and sauce so that campers can have a chance to use the wood fire pizza oven. He spends all night baking the pizzas as campers gather in the community kitchen/picnic area to build them together getting to know each other, and sharing their creations. It’s extremely family friendly and it’s a great getaway for parents and young adults alike. Every time I go, it feels like camping when I was a kid. Not only that, but the area has so much adventure to offer with nearby hot springs, lakes, waterfalls with swimming lagoons, nearby Burney Falls, and more. I am so happy we found this site and we will keep coming back each year! Thank you N&S!

Magical stay, will be back!

This was my first Hipcamp experience and it went swimmingly! The property had a very clean cabin and bathroom for a campsite. Other families on the property were friendly and welcoming, we sat at a campfire together two nights in a row. We met folks that had been to this site 3 time because of they loved it so much! The property was a bit hard to get to because of the rocky/pothole road. But the directions the host gave were as clear as possible. There is enough to do on-sight for a weekend, like hang out by the creek, go to the swimming hole, do a mini drive to a hot spring, and also drive 30 minutes to a waterfall. Because this place is secluded we had these spots to ourselves for some time. Definitely worth it to check it out yourself!

We loved everything about the place. The freedom to walk around unabandoned. Campsites were spacious and well maintained. the common areas had everything a tent camper could ask for, even a flushing toilet and shower, which could’ve had a little more water pressure and warmth. Thank you, Alex and Brenda for making our stay comfortable. Would’ve liked to have thanked Scott in person, but he was unavoidably detained. Would also like to see Polo on our way out. But he was also unavoidably detained. One more thing would like to see the little horse have his hooves Clipped and manicured. Love the big pond, and the creek with the waterfall. Alex, I hope you found the 12 pack I left for you in the refrigerator. oh, one more thing I hope you get site nine up and running along with the new kitchen and maybe bathroom at the north end for next year maybe? That’s a sweet spot!

Loved every bit of this campsite!! Camped right next to the water and hiked to the swimming hole on the property. It was private, beautiful, and even came with a guard dog! They have working dogs on the property so you feel extra safe from bears and other wildlife. They have toilets and showers with a share kitchen area which is adorable. Would highly recommend anyone camp here!!!

I had a wonderful experience camping at this place for a night. The tent camping was fantastic! It was great to have a kitchen, bathroom, and shower to use. Although the shared spaces were convenient, I had the entire place to myself. Alex, who hosted me, was incredibly kind and showed me around the property. Their dog was also very cute and easygoing. I would definitely consider coming back in the future!

Scott was such a kind host. The property is beautiful and it was nice to have access to a bathroom and outdoor kitchen while camping and otherwise feeling off the grid. I would definitely come back! All the campsites are beautiful and situated along the creek. Scott set up the pizza oven for us, brought us chairs when we mentioned we didn't bring any, and also took us to see his animals when we mentioned interest. We used the campsite as a jumping off point to explore the surrounding areas, including potem falls, castle lake, etc. We wanted to check out the hot springs down the road but couldn't find it. Net time will make sure to ask Scott for directions before leaving!

The Best Last Resort!

Stoney Meadows! The LAST resort, literally. Its the stoney meadows ranch/property, and then the forest. Scott and Alex came out here and there to se if I needed anything or questions etc. It was me and one couple that left before I did, very peaceful. They take extremely great care of the campground. Its RIGHT on Kosk Creek. Unfortunately, I had to leave 2 days early because my dog was dying. Other than that, Camp Stoney Meadows is beautiful, surreal, deep in the forest, and likely the best and id say top tier for being so deep in the forest especially. Definitely camp here if you want the deep forest, and a cut from cell service. Its great.

Scott was so welcoming! I loved talking with him about the history of the area surrounding The Lofton Ranch. The garden was blooming with many types of delicious grapes, grilling corn & the most delicious plums I’ve ever eaten. Camp Stony Meadows is absolutely lovely & it is a perfect place for me & my pup to put up tent for a couple of nights under the stars. We WILL be back:) I chose camp 5 by the waterfall & I’d like to try campsites 7 & 6 on my next trip up to the area. All the camp spots were equally situated by the river, only real difference is maybe the privacy offered. Some spots are closer to cabins for rest-room use or the closer to the awesome outdoor kitchen that is set up with pic-nic tables and everything you could need for a family gathering. Scott can help you figure out any plans in the area for things to do…. a river dip? a hot tub perhaps?!! Swimming’ holes abound around the area & Scott can tell you the way! I will certainly be back! Me & my dog Shade loved every minute of our time here at Camp Stony Meadows. My favorite part of Scott’s ranch might be the way the mosquito population that can sometimes plague one in other nearby areas is gently and perfectly managed by an army of dragonflies come evening time💙💜💚 ~And the mosquitos that the dragonflies miss get swooped up by swifts & swallows! I usually leave Big Bend covered in bites after camping in the area, but not at Scott’s Ranch! Everything comes together perfectly, naturally here.

My wife and I came here last year, just the two of us and fell in love with it (and our hosts) immediately. We planned to bring our kids for our next family trip and they had a blast so another visit was in the xards. This time there were enough campers for Scott to fire up the pizza oven and make some delicious pizza for everyone. Scott is a wonderful guy, he has made special effort to accomodate us each time we've been there. This time he went and got paint for my daughter to paint rocks with. We all love Camp Stoney Meadows and look forward to our next visit

What an absolute incredible place to stay!! We wish we could have stayed longer but will be sure to come back. From the farm where you can pick your own corn, tomatillos, grapes and other great fruits and veggies, to the wide open farm, and amazing shallow river to be able to cool off in, this place is an all time favorite place to stay. Scott was very nice and helpful, checking in to make sure everything was going well. The kitchen had everything needed along with working toilet that flushed. Again, I can’t express what an amazing and magical place this is. Huge thanks to Scott for letting us stay here. We will be back!!

A Few Miles of Slow Driving

Very peaceful with the convenience of a communal kitchen, showers and a flush toilet. The creek is beautiful and due to its remote location there was only one other couple so we were able to spread out between two other sites. We were awestruck by the stars and were lulled to sleep by the night sounds of crickets and the creek. The raspberries growing both wild and in the garden and were delicious. We also enjoyed plums and grapes. Our host Scott was our hero when we had trouble with our hitch and he brought out tools and grease until we succeeded in hooking it up for our departure. We greatly enjoyed iron canyon reservoir which is stuffed with trout and again there were no other people. We had a lovely time kayaking there. We highly recommend!

This was our 6th visit to Stoney meadows after the past 3 summers of visiting and as usual, it was absolutely perfect. The hospitality, helpfulness (thank you again for the tire assistance Alex!) the magical and peaceful setting, new friends made, the usual Saturday pizza night, and of course the dogs and the best swimming holes…it’s just our favorite place to continue returning to year after year. Absolutely loved our time at Scotts campsite. He was very welcoming and the property was so unique and had was perfect for a family camp trip. He had water jugs throughout the campsite, the bathroom was super clean, and well maintained, and the kitchen had all the utensils and the items you need for a basic cooking. We had the pleasure to joined him on his pizza night and had pizza from his home made pizza oven with other campers and was a great time! We enjoyed the swimming role, which is 5-10 min walk from the campsite and eating grapes from his garden. It was a perfect weekend and we would love to come back sometime soon.

Cozy spot on a river!

Nora and Scott are incredibly friendly. Camp spots are fairly close together, so keep that in mind. The facilities, including a bathroom, shower, and covered outdoor kitchen were a very nice perk. They also have a nice swimming hole on the river attached to their property. We happened to be there on pizza night and Scott and Nore make the dough and sauce from scratch, so good! They have a number of dogs that roam the ranch to protect their animals, so make sure you're dogs are friendly if you plan to travel with one. Also, not advised if you have a vehicle that's low as the roads are a bit bumpy.

Room 1 with a view of Kosk Creek

We were second time at Stoney Meadows. We love the place. Cottages are very nice, kitchen well equipment, shower and bathroom very clean. For us like private retreat. Hosts and staff are very nice and helpful. Valley and creek are very pictures. It's are best place for vacation.

Site 7 - Tent Camp Stoney Meadows

Beautiful and peaceful. Campsite #7 was very spacious and private and they added an extra toilet and spout right by the site which was very handy. Would recommend. Had no problem using Google Maps to find the location.
