Great location easy to get to. Quiet and with an amazing view of Mount Shasta. Close to Weed if you need to get to Weed its a quick drive.

I did not stay overnight at Site #1 because what was represented as "portable toilet" was a very dirty outhouse with no door and no TP a long distance from the campsite. There was a shower curtain that could not be secured in the high desert wind and the opening was visible from the host's nearby house. I took photos confirming. I feel there should be full disclosure on the Hipcamp website and would not have booked if I had known the actual setup.

Site 2 - Shasta Juniper High Desert
We just needed a place to stay for one night on our way to our final destination, and this was the perfect spot for us! The directions were easy to follow, and the property has two campsites spread across 25 acres. We stayed at Site 2, the furthest from the road, which was nice and peaceful.
There was a picnic table at the site and a composting toilet nearby. I’d read that there was a water spigot, but I forgot to ask about it when Alex brought us some fresh eggs—fortunately, we had brought all the water we needed.
It was just us, our two dogs, and our popup trailer. Since it was high summer, campfires weren’t allowed, but we didn’t mind. We were treated to the most amazing sunset with a beautiful view of Mt. Shasta!
Alex was very nice and friendly, and we would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend for a peaceful overnight stay with a gorgeous view.

Amazing stay! The absolute best stargazing I’ve ever experienced in my life — truly incredible. And the views of Mt. Shasta are stunning. WOW.
We stayed at Site 2 in early August, and it was HOT when we arrived around 6pm. I’m honestly glad we didn’t get there any earlier because it would’ve been a lot of heat to handle while waiting for the sun to go down. Once the sun set, though, it was perfect. The overnight temps were super comfortable for sleeping in our CyberTent.
Our site had a picnic table, which was really nice to have. I’m glad we chose site 2 as it felt slightly more private. The primitive outhouse/restroom was just a short walk from the campsite — close enough to be convenient, but not so close that the wind is blowing any “essence” toward your site 😂. There’s also a hose bib with filtered water up near the garage.
The host lives on site and was so kind and pleasant when he came over to introduce himself. After that, we never saw or heard another person for the rest of the evening or the following morning. It really felt like we had the place to ourselves.
The location feels wonderfully remote and peaceful while still being conveniently located about 15 minutes from the freeway. GPS took us right there, and the campsites are clearly marked, so finding our site was easy.
We absolutely loved our stay and would stay here again. And seriously — the stars alone are worth it!

Amazing view and wide open feel. The land was beautiful and access was easy. Alex is a fantastic host. Great stay for a day or longer.
It was so secluded, there was only 1 other campsite and the views and sunset and stars were incredible

Site 1 - Shasta Juniper High Desert
Without exaggeration, this is possibly the most beautiful Hipcamp site anywhere. You are in the shadow of Mount Shasta and overlooking the valley surrounding Lake Shastina. It is one of the quietest camp sites yet only one mile from the road. If driving on a dirt road bothers you, that may be the one drawback. It depends on the vehicle you’re driving and the driver’s experience.
Site 1 accommodated our needs during for an overnight spot on our interstate move. We felt very safe and at peace there and hope to return for a recreational visit.

Incredible views! We were worried it would be too hot but there is so much to do in the area at higher elevations or take a dip in the lake so it wasn’t a problem. We did have a pop up awning that saved us during the day. No fires during summer seasons but it did not impact our experience. The weather was warm and we were able to cook on a camp stove. Driving in you will see private property signs but you are headed the right way don’t worry.

We were at site 2. Plenty of space to maneuver our 22 foot trailer. Very private. Alex is super friendly. The eggs were delicious. Picnic table is is good condition. Mt. Shasta hid behind her private clouds the first night, but we awoke to a stunning view!

Beautiful and spacious camp site. Clear view of Mt Shasta and the stars! In May temps drop in the 30s but daytime can be hot. About a 15 min drive to the closest town. Also note it's a dog friendly campsite but there are lots of foxtails so be mindful of your dogs.

Spent our whole time here with my mouth hanging open and just being in awe of the mountain, but honestly 360 degrees of incredible nature views. Alex was super friendly and met us when we arrived to give us all of the info. We will definitely be back if we’re ever passing through again!

My favorite place to stop over on my way between Oregon and the Bay Area. Wide open spaces, off the beaten path, and with great visibility allows me to let my dog roam freely. Quiet, peaceful, and with amazing views to help me unwind after a long day of driving. Highly recommended
Overall my boyfriend and I had a great trip here but a few things to note that I didn’t see in other reviews: the campsites are right next to the hosts personal home, I personally prefer a more private campsite and didn’t quite realize it would be so close until we got there. Luckily Alex was super accommodating and kind and let us stay on a site of his that was still being cleared out and was further away from his home. The wind was also definitely something to keep in mind. It was particularly gnarly the nights we stayed-classic high desert. A spectacular view though and a very accommodating host. I would recommend this site to car campers and rv trailers that are a bit more high maintenance and desire a host that’s within range if need be

Amazing views, doggie paradise, Alex is really friendly and helpful
We loved the 360 views and especially the view of Mt Shasta. Amzing spot as long as there is no wind. Fresh farm eggs were a nice breakfast addition. Amenities were basic but having potable water and an outhouse was convenient. The host, Alex, was personable and helpfull.

I stayed at Alex’s site 2 with my dog for 2 nights. We had the most beautiful views, sunrises and sunsets. Alex was the best host. Highly recommend staying here! I had 2-3 bars of Verizon service and gas/groceries were 10 min away.
