Are you ready to unplug from the world and recharge in nature? This newly built two bedroom, two bath log cabin will help you do just that. You’ll reconnect with love ones since the cabin has NO WIFI but does have a wood burning stove and miles of trails to walk on just outside of the front door. The cabin is conveniently located just minutes from the north entrance of Lassen National Park. For entertainment, I have a TV (no cable)/DVD player with a selection of movies, board games, and reading material including a few books and magazines. There is timber land at the back of the property with plenty of trails to walk or ride a mountain bike (if you bring one). Lassen National Park is a short drive away. Also nearby is lake McCumber. I have a wood burning stove inside that you can use for a fire. Absolutely NO FIRES outside. There is a fire ban in effect, thank you for your cooperation and understanding. I have a propane BBQ outside that you can use, along with a picnic bench and other outside seating. I will provide a selection of tea, hot coco, coffee and oatmeal to get your day started. Be sure to bring food with you since the nearest grocery story is about 9 miles away. I will provide a basket of firewood to use during your stay, but it's a good idea to bring extra since it will go fast. Because you're in the forest, there is limited cell reception so please plan accordingly. I've found that Verizon has some signal while AT&T has none. Since it's meant to get away from it all, not having cell service might be a good thing. :) The master bedroom is on the entire loft floor so there isn't a lock or door that separates the main area downstairs. Just so you're aware. There is a door and lock on the guest bedroom downstairs. All you'll need to bring are your personal items, food for your stay, and extra firewood! Once booked, I will send more helpful tips and information for your stay a week prior to your check in date. Dogs - I allow dogs because I believe they are part of the family, but please notify me if you intend to bring your dog prior to your stay. If there is high wind in the forecast, the electric company, PG&E may turn the power off for safety reasons. They usually notify me a day in advance and I will let you know right away, but I wanted you to know that it might be a possibility during your stay. For Winter Guests: A 4 wheel drive vehicle or car with chains is HIGHLY recommended to travel to the cabin. The main road is paved but there will be snow/ice in the area. Turner Beach At Lake Almanor is a privately owned vacant lakefront lot. The property is wide enough to accommodate 3 RV's/camp trailers end to end, ensuring no blocked views of the lake. You will be camping along Lake Almanor's East Shore on your own private campground instead of "combat camping" in the popular public campgrounds nearby. Additionally, the property can accommodate numerous smaller vans and tents. We have 2 mooring buoys and a large dock. (Dock may no longer be in the water after September) There is a sani-hut potty which is maintained/cleaned weekly. The property is located between the lake and the highway, so there will be road noise. Some guests have been bothered by the traffic and some have not. We have 2 SUP boards, 3 kayaks, and a canoe as well as a 5-person pedal boat that can be borrowed while renting our beach. Doing so will be at your own risk and you are required to wear personal floatation devices (lifejackets). Lifejackets are not provided, so you will need to bring your own. We ask that you please respect our toys and take care not to damage them or lose any parts/pieces. ALL RENTERS MUST TAKE THEIR OWN TRASH WITH THEM WHEN THEY DEPART No Fireworks, No firearms, No drugs allowed. Dogs are allowed and we do have a 10 x 10 x 6 kennel onsite. Campers are responsible for minding their pet's safety, politeness, and picking up their poo-poo's. Marshmallow roasting/cooking fires must be kept small and are only allowed in the provided fire ring. There is some small firewood onsite, and if you need more you can purchase nearby at Almanor Landscape Supply or bring your own. The early mornings are tranquil, and the sunsets are STUNNING! We have an ice machine on in the summer months located by our Main Lodge. The winters are cold and snowy, spring and fall are ideal with warm sunny days and cool, crisp nights, and the summer has warm evenings and hot days. There is plenty of shade with large pine, cedar and oak trees and open sunny space in the meadow. Coppercreek Camp is your perfect mountain getaway for the whole family! Please note: The Dixie fire burned our town of Greenville in August 2021. There is ongoing repair work in the local area, a lot of burned forest, but still many beautiful sites to see. Much of our property burned, but we are rebuilding and have beautiful green trees with plenty of shade. All of our pictures on HipCamp are post-fire and up-to-date. Please come and support our special town as we rebuild! The town of Greenville is located about 5 minutes from our property and offers a grocery store, Dollar General, gas station with mini mart, and wonderful food trucks. The patriarch of the family, whose family had moved here from Denmark, had a great love of the forest and trains. The property was one of the first certified tree farms in California with the goal of nurturing a healthy forest. In the 1960’s, a mile of railroad tracks was laid and the whistle of a small, steam engine train could be heard throughout the community. Local residents and kids were treated to free train rides and special events for many years. There is a natural spring with a small creek that supplies the ponds with fresh water year around. There is also a small canyon on the property with a larger stream called Mud Creek. The land is rich in Indian history and there a artifacts and other signs on the Indians presence. The Cohasset area is relatively unknown. 15 miles from our property is Deer Creek and the Lasson National Forest is about a 2 hour drive north. While staying with us you can pitch your tent on our private 500 acres. We have 2 primitive camping spots on our property. Each spot has a picnic table and fire pit. There is a flush toilet shared for both camp sites. * During freezing weather the toilets may be closed so they don’t freeze! Please check before booking *The spots are spread out to ensure privacy. Our property is surrounded by the forest and is loaded with deer, squirrels, turkeys and other forest animals. We have numerous walking trails, a fresh water pond for fishing and swimming. Please notify us if you have an RV. Site 1 is best for RV's. Site 2 can accommodate smaller RV's.

In recent history, a multi-cultural group of community members formed the Konkow Partnership to attempt to hold, steward, and preserve the wilderness that survives here. We hope to see you real soon. Visit, fish, or camp in a rare jewel forest, hidden in the Sierra/Cascade foothills, less than an hour's drive to Chico, Oroville, or Paradise. Surviving forests of mature cedars, pines, oaks, and madrones provide shady camping, fishing along the lake shore, or picnicing along the banks of the creek that runs through a recovering creekside area. Stargaze or fly kites in our Great Meadow or admire copious wildflowers and other native plants on over 80 acres of wilderness. We provide a variety of recovering wilderness areas near water faucets, pit toilets and an RV dump station. Our site features mature forests, grassy meadows, a year-round creek in a fire recovery zone. The site also features lakefront shoreline access for bank fishing, a central fire pit and lots of space for group camping. Fires are permitted in the central pit when weather allows. The Lake Concow/Konkow Campground is a wilderness sanctuary and houses many variety of rare and endangered plants, animals, and insects. Please be aware of and give respectful space to all of the residents of the park. The list of year round residents may include poison oak, thorny berry vines, mosquitoes, ticks, spiders, deer, eagles, osprey, owls, squirrels, skunks, foxes, bears, mountain lions, snakes, bats, and more. Please be responsible for personal camp supplies and trash. The Campground is a Pack In/Pack Out location and garbage cans are supplied near the office house near the entrance. Good hiking shoes, protective clothing, and hats are recommended. All Campground faucets supply delicious, potable water tested regularly. The modern listings spell the name Concow, Ancestors spelled it Konkow. Both are correct, though may give different search results. There is plenty of room for parking large vehicles and for turning around. TOW VEHICLES MUST STAY THE DURATION OF THE CAMPING VISIT. Sorry, we DO NOT allow towed-in-and-dropped-off campers or 5th wheel trailers at this time. This may change as clean up work progresses through the year. Stay tuned for updates. Thank you.

Farther away but worth the drive, especially in the warmer months, is Whiskeytown Lake, a 3,000 surface-acre reservoir of crystal-clear water that’s perfect for sailing, kayaking, fishing, and windsurfing. If you prefer to stay dry, admire it from the shore and hike to the 220-foot Whiskeytown Falls. A drive to the east are the fascinating steam vents, mud pots, fumaroles, and Sulphur Works of Lassen Volcanic National Park.

Getting There Property is located ~9 miles down a dirt road in the bottom of a canyon with the North Fork of the Feather River at the bottom of it. Normal sedans should be OK getting down to the property if you drive slowly and are careful. Travel trailers are also fine but you should be cautious taking anything larger than 30 feet. Once you start down the road there is no place to turn around until you are at the bottom of the canyon. Campsites * Two locations to choose from Notes About the Property * There is no cellular reception at the property. * I have used Starlink here in the past and it works great. * A fire in 2021 burned much of the tree coverage. Campsite 1 has very little tree coverage. Campsite 2 is nestled among trees. * The property used to be an operating gold mine. There is old equipment onsite. DO NOT climb or touch any of the old equipment! The camp sites were very well kept. The night time camp host was just the nicest lady that way above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We showed up after hours, but she greeted us anyway and opened the store for us so we could get supplies and fire wood. The manager or owner came to greet us the following morning and was also very kind and friendly. We couldn't give a higher praise to Bigfoot Lodging. 2 thumbs up

Off the beaten path beautiful campground and hot springs! Instructions were very clear, campground was well tended to, trails well marked and access was much easier than I thought. The hot springs were nice and toasty with varying temperatures. Definitely coming back to spend a longer time!

It was great. Been coming for a good 3 years now. I appreciate all the improvements they have made. The only uncomfortable part was I booked online. We got a message asking when we were showing up. If we wanted wood...directions ... A lot of good information. We responded immediately said we would be there at midnight. We rolled in at midnight. Getting ready to settle in...some random dude shows up lights blazing and questions us about being there. Mind you there is no service. I didn't get screen shots. I have never had a problem here before. After a while the man finally acknowledges he had correspondence from me. But he definitely gave the feelings like we were trying to pull a fast one. Idk. It wasn't the most comfortable welcome. Especially where we wrote that we were coming at midnight 4 hours prior. We also wanted to buy wood. We were looking forward to having fire that morning. But the wood didn't come until the next night. I mentioned when the gentleman came questioning us that we wanted wood and asked about it in the message. We were bummed we didn't get wood until the next evening kinda late. And it was a bit of a chilly afternoon. So bring a little wood if you don't want to wait. Take screen shots of everything. I don't think they update the system on their end too regularly.

We had an absolutely WONDERFUL time at FullCircle!! Erin and Eric greeted us and it was clear from the get go that they love this land and they are so excited to share it. Every detail was thoughtful and whimsical. They showed us the lay of the land, loved on our doggies, and helped us get set up. The site is level and spacious and honey. The potty is clean and stable. The fire pit is perfect for a chilly night. The sunset and sunrise were to die for. We will certainly be back!!

Last min adventure to surprise hubby. The owner is a wonderful man that has an amazing story. NOTE BRING BUCKET! The area is beautiful, so peaceful, road little bumpy towards the camp so if in a car be prepared to dodge some pot hole BUT it is not anything that cant be done taking your time. You pull up unlock the gate go in lock gate behind you. Then drive over to meadow where there are multiple areas to pick to camp with picnic benches. We did just for the day but definitely will be back to camp. We pulled up to back fence far side of the meadow. Just to the right of the fence is a little path that leads to the pools. We only did the first pool but it is amazing. Note make sure to drink lots of WATER!! The water will detox you. Kicked my butt the next day because I didn't & I soaked for long periods at a time. I loved being able to soak then step into the cold creek. Invigorating. It is so peaceful just relaxing. First attached tub super hot feeds into the 2nd tub. BUCKET is to get water from creek to cool 2nd tub down if needed. It can really heat up from the first tub. & DONT PULL THE TENNIS BALL you will drain the tub.

Followed the directions for the day hot spring use. All went well except there was ‘maintenance’ being done on the first/ closest hot spring. The dude was occasionally scooping mud out but mostly enjoying the spring all to his (nude) self. Went to the next spring and joined a nice couple.

Overview

About

A 4 mile stroll through the Warner Valley in Lassen Volcanic National Park will bring you to the Devil's Kitchen. As you emerge from the lush meadows and forests the second largest hydrothermal in the entire park appears through the clouds of steam. A trail will lead you past steaming mud-pots and boiling springs as you hear the hiss of steam escaping from the depths below. The mysterious smell that "something" is cooking leaves you feeling eerie as you stroll through this hellish landscape.

When to go

The ideal time to visit Devil's Kitchen is during the warmer months, from late spring to early fall, when the trails are clear and the hydrothermal features are active. Winter can bring heavy snow, making access challenging and potentially closing the park.

Know before you go

Check the latest trail conditions and weather forecasts before your visit.
Stay on designated trails to protect the fragile hydrothermal areas and for your safety.
Bring plenty of water, as the hike can be strenuous and dehydrating.
Be prepared for sudden weather changes; dress in layers and carry rain gear.
Remember, wildlife is present in the park; maintain a safe distance at all times.
