A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. It has a fully-equipped kitchen with everything needed to prepare your meals. There is a 2 night minimum for booking. The "Redwood Nest" is a standalone room featuring a queen bed and bay window looking out onto a redwood stand. There is a composting toilet in the attached outhouse and an outdoor sink. There are no cooking facilities and no cooking allowed. The redwood nest is really perfect for a couple looking to eat out and then sleep, fully at peace beneath the Redwoods. Please note that there is a friendly dog on the property (although we do not accept pet guests). This property is ideal for quiet people who want to get away into nature, enjoy the outdoors. All sites are easy walking distance to flush toilets and a bathhouse, with large, clean, coin operated hot shower rooms. There is no cell service in the park, but free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center. PLEASE NOTE that Bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets) IS NOT included in a standard rental, but is available as an add-on. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding whenever possible. Learn more about this land: Welcome to our Above the Clouds RV spot, tucked away in between Napa and Sonoma Valleys - right in the middle of wine country! This is the perfect peaceful getaway near great outdoor activities and some of the best wineries in California! About the Property: Above the Clouds campsite is surrounded by beautiful, stately trees and overlooks the Valley of the Moon with a stunning mountain view. We are just 11 miles from the city of Sonoma and only 8 miles from the Napa Valley - making both destinations really easy to get to. You can enjoy the California wineries, restaurants, and shops that you'd like! We are also ideally located near Jack London State Park - which is a really pretty and historic place to go! The opportunities for hiking around our property are endless, and definitely head to the wineries if that's of interest to you. On our property you can enjoy exploring our more-than 20 acres of land, taking the row-boat (provided by Hosts) out on our pond, hiking or just relaxing in a serene setting and watching a great variety of birds. Formerly utilized as a bed and breakfast, when we moved to the property we definitely wanted to continue sharing the land and views with guests. As hosts, we are around and enjoy getting to know the our visitors if you are up for that, otherwise we are also happy to respect total privacy. There are 3 sites next to the pond, we have one that is there all the time in the summer but those folks only come a couple of times each month. The 2 others are right next to each other near the pond. We haven't started having more than one rented at a time yet but do expect to start that soon. You may have a neighbor or 2. We hope you enjoy the beautiful sunsets and being literally above the clouds as much as we do! About the Listing: Come park your RV on our property and set up camp at a beautiful spot right next to the pond. You should expect to see us on the property, though your site is well away from the house We have minimal electrical and we do have water hookups available for your RV, we do allow generators. There is a BBQ grill that you are welcome to use for cooking some wonderful meals if you'd like! You can enjoy a bite to eat at the picnic table near your campsite. There is also potable water from our natural spring available onsite for guests. You can enjoy watching the birds, turkeys and deer that meander through the meadow, and feel free to roam around the property taking in the fresh outdoor air! Additional Details to Note: - Check-in is after 2pm and check-out is before 12pm - Things to bring: Everything you need to camp comfortably! Think: toilet paper, cookware, bathing suits if you like, etc. - We do not have wifi available on site and cell reception is spotty, especially for certain carriers. Please prepare accordingly for your travels and your stay. - There is a fire ban in effect, so please no campfires, but we do allow you to use a propane fire pit if you bring it yourself. - We welcome your pets! Welcome to our family land! As an educator, I run the camp during summers primarily. As a proudly affordable option in Calistoga, all camps are set up to be user ready and campers are responsible for leaving the sites cleaned up and “better” than you found it. If this sounds good, read on! We offer rustic nature, space for tents and smaller RVs, and two levels of cabin camping just 10 minutes outside of our hometown, Calistoga. Our land is beautiful with amazing views and lots of wildlife - which comes with your fair share of roughing it. All sites have their own compost toilet and handwashing station. For glamping experience, CORAL CABIN guests have step up access to hot shower at the Hilltop “Cafe,” which also has a grill, sink, power outlets and Wi-Fi, coffee maker, microwave and toaster, and bathtubs for an extra charge. We currently try to rent one site at a time, so all sites have private access to amenities at the Hilltop Cafe. *Coral Cabin also has the largest, flattest spot for an RV, with great views and cabin access if you wanted. This cabin is our premier ‘roughing it’ experience complete with electricity, WI-FI, TV with Roku, and an AC unit. *Married Manzanitas campsite or cabin rental is high clearance or walk-in only (no RV access) and has an ambient temperature shower at their site fed by a hose. (Hose may need to be turned on at hilltop.) Guests can also use hot shower at the hilltop. If you choose to rent this cabin, this is our really roughing it experience with no Wi-Fi or electricity, just walls, high ceiling, floor, door and bed (comfy futon). It is very peaceful. Camp has a propane fire pit and camp stove available, and table/chair seating areas. *Shaded Oak is furthest from hilltop but can accommodate small trailers (up to 15 feet…), also great sunsets and a rough trail down to our ‘fern gully’ area. Lovely site with relatively easy access to the driveway. Shower and sink access at the hilltop! …has propane fire pit, table and chairs, and water for handwashing. All sites: Pack your trash (just to the trashbin at the bottom of hill)! Add mulch to the toilets! Leave it better! We are proud to be an affordable option in Calistoga and If you can clean up after yourself (to avoid cleaning fee), we would be happy to host you!

Weekend Trip to Calistoga Dreaming

Stayed there with our 23' Airstream for a quick weekend trip. Site is great with power and water and it's perched on a hill over Calistoga - about a 5 minute drive to town. Peter came out and gave us a quick tour of the site and a heads up on some of the local things going on in town for the weekend which were both appreciated. If it's your first trip and you are towing, there are parts of the road where you might say, "I hope those goes to the right spot," or "I really hope I fit..." - but all was good for my sized rig. You need to back in, but there is a loop on the site to get you turned back around for leaving. We are definitely keeping it the list of places to stay when we want to spend the weekend in Napa.

The land itself is gorgeous. A 5 acre plot with tons of space to hang, and dare I say play, in. Rife with redwoods, gazebos, relaxing Buddhist mantras, an adult playground, and more stars than the eye can see. There were tons of little details that showed just how much Miss J truly cares for this space. Last but not least, the hosts themselves were incredibly kind and approachable. Would definitely come back here!

We loved our glamping experience at Sugarloaf SP! The tent was spacious and cozy with comfortable beds and plenty of places to sit and hang out. We rented the heater which was much appreciated when the temp dropped and some rained moved in. We appreciated our first bundle of firewood. All of the staff was very friendly and quick to help out if we needed something. They also keep the bathrooms super clean and well stocked and a short walk from any site. The center of the campground being a beautiful meadow with lots of wildlife at night and clear skies show a perfect view of the starry night. We would definitely stay again.
