Welcome to Coco, the 1970 Overlander 27’ Airstream! We have tried to preserve her 50-year-old charm as much as possible and are still in the process of restoring her to her original glory. Our family of 4 humans, two dogs, and one guinea pig lived in Coco while our house was being built. It was quite an adventure! Coco is nestled in the foothills of the Sierras on our semi-private 4-acre property. Easy access to Grass Valley, Nevada City, and the Yuba River. Coco the Airstream is fully functional with a kitchen and bathroom. There is one full-ish size bed that sleeps two comfortably in the bedroom area, and the couch can fold into one twin-sized bed. We are located about 15 minutes to town and 10 to the nearest grocery store. Coco the Airstream shares the property with a private family of four humans and two dogs in a house at the top of the hill. My parents are full time RVers and often stay in the other RV spot on our property throughout the year when they are taking a break from traveling. Be mindful of poison oak and please dive 10mph on the gravel road to keep dust down for my neighbors and enjoy the only privets south yuba river access in Hipcamp responsibly. Pack out what you lack in and absolutely no open fire on the property. Propane grill are fine. If you’re adventurous minded this doesn’t disappoint.

We all loved staying here and we would come back again (hopefully when it’s not raining). Alan was super friendly and the site, bathroom, water, canoes, hay rides, etc were all perfect. We did see another review to pack earplugs because it can be loud at night (the geese lol) so we all slept great. I would definitely recommend people think about what dogs they bring since there are many loose unneutered male dogs that are friendly and come around to the site regularly (as well as a pig!) One younger pup, (a jack russel mix?), repeatedly peed on our things but I think he’s still learning from the other pups how to behave. Overall we had lots of fun and definitely recommend this place.

Weekend Trip to Camp Electra in Mokelumne Hill

Ryan was very welcoming and helpful. It was a great spot to stop and set up camp. He has EVERYTHING you need except a bed and food. He had lights set up, a shower, a full propane grill with two burners and tons of tables as well as a spot to do dishes. He gave great recommendations and his dogs were ADORABLE too. They are very friendly even with our dog who wasn’t so friendly so be careful about keeping your dog on leash if they have a high prey drive. I cannot say enough how awesome he was. Thanks again Ryan!

We loved the experience on Alan’s huge farm, and my kids had a great time with the dogs. At night, the sounds of all kinds of animals create a natural symphony. My girls were a little scared of the dogs at first, but they ended up having great fun with them. You may need to lower your expectations regarding the facilities, bathrooms, and dining area, but it’s well worth it to enjoy the nature and animals. Alan is a great host. He is in his 80s, in very good shape, and reminds us of our grandpa.

The Ascension Ranch was incredible. They were very supportive hosts and had the perfect balance of helping us find our way and cultivating a gorgeous spot, while also respecting our privacy and letting us have a much needed friends gathering. The land was beautiful and we LOVED the animals. We even had the BEST dog hang with us at our campsite, which not only added to our joy of the place, but kept us feeling safe and secure. 10/10 worth the trip. We're planning another trip in the Summer.

Drove in and initially had a hard time finding the entrance. However, we messaged the host and they came out and guided us. Once parked, they showed us where the best spot is for hook ups. It was beautiful, quiet, and there weren’t a lot of campers there. The location allowed for us to go visit Grass Valley and Nevada City and just relax. Hosts were A+++, we had a great time & will definitely return.

We're coming back here! Affordable and well worth it. The highlight was definitely the animal feeding-it was straight up magical. Like a scene out of a movie! Traditional camping with some modern luxuries like flush toilets and a dishwashing sink. The animals were charming and nature's alarm. Just a couple of heads up-the area can get quite wet and foggy. Things will get wet overnight. The farm dogs, Sparky and Little Red were cute but quite persistent with our female dog. It is an actual ranch so bring earplugs. Roosters started crowing at 10pm and continued to do so at random intervals. For all you cityfolk, it is a ranch, so watch your step. All in all, LOVE this hipcamp.

My family spent two wonderful nights here. We were warmly welcomed by Alan, Brian, Mark and the pups. Brian was especially helpful and friendly. The highlights of our trip were feeding the animals off the hay trailer, canoeing at will, freedom to explore the beautiful acreage and the tranquil ambience. We will most definitely be returning, with a trip already in the works. Highly highly recommend visiting this magical place at least once.

Awesome campsite, great spot for a lowkey trip with some buddies. Alan was an amazing host meeting us quickly after our set up and offering a hay ride to feed the cows (definitely recommend!) Along with Rafael one of the ranch helpers. Special shout out there funny dude showed us what to do and let us help him feed the cows. Brian was also an awesome guy and provided plenty of wood for our fire and a pretty nice firework show with his buddy Frank as we were there for the NewYear. Dogs were all fun to have around and all of the animals were cool to watch all day. 100% recommend this site and I plan to return myself too.

Weekend Trip to Delta Meadows River Camp

We arrived Dec 26 the day after the big storm with a little residual rain. Wasn’t too muddy to park and after another night of rain we were able to drive fine (also land is level). Dino was a great host- friendly, gave a tour of the trailers and told me local places to get food. You can walk to Locke and Walnut Grove (enough room at the side of highway to walk comfortably along the road with a dog without fear of oncoming traffic. There’s also a nearby park along the water to walk through. Would definitely go to again. Thanks Dino!
