Your campsite will be nestled among animal enclosures, listen to the munching of hay or the snorting of the horse. Your stay will include a modified animal tour and you can engage with horse, goats, rabbits, chickens, ducks and more... dogs and cats of course ;). I have a couple of spots but I would be flexible regarding campsite. My toilet is a compost toilet. The outside shower has been upgraded with privacy curtains etc following suggetions from previous campers ;)
I have a million $$ view and a modest house. My house is about 45 minutes from the Yosemite park entrance and it's an easy commute back/forth. Flowering vines cover my outdoor porches where we have big dinners when Wwoofers or Couchsurfers are in residence. The property is home to many animals, horse, goats, pigs, chickens, peacocks, rabbits, guinea pigs - dogs & cats - of course! :-) . The roosters wake us up pretty early so fair warning about that - but I love living with them and it makes the property so much more friendly with all the critters. My house is pet friendly and yours are welcome if they are 1. Fixed, 2. Are social and friendly with my pets, 3. Will not chase the cats and chickens. I can babysit your pups if you go to the park - provided they are compliant with rules above. I work from home. There are loads of trails nearby and 2 pretty ponds and plenty of wildlife, deer, turkeys and more. The property is rolling hills however there are plenty of flat areas for tents. NO FIRES PERMITTED ANYWHERE ON MY PROPERTY APRIL-OCTOBER - non negotiable.

Backing up to the Sierra National Forest OYBC is conveniently located near HWY 41 just 14 miles from Yosemite’s south gate entrance. Heart Valley ranch hosts 300+ acres of rolling pasture nestled along the beautiful Jackass Creek. Access to Yosemite via 120 takes 1 hour , Groveland 10 minutes, and Coulterville 5 minutes. You’ll find cows, goats, chickens, llamas and our two beloved livestock dogs on the property. Many pools to cool off in and sweeping sunset views from the highest point on the property. If you are looking for man made and leveled campsites, then this is not your basecamp. This land is a gorgeous 20 acres that means a lot to us.
It's space to find your peace of mind and pitch a tent or hammock, as you would when hiking the backcountry.
Aside from complimentary ice water, potty, shower, soaps, sanitizer, sunscreen, first aid, communal fire pit, wood stove and dishwashing area) this is not "glamping".
If you are a person who appreciates nature and making due with what the land has provided, then we are a great fit.
Guests have 20 acres to find a secluded, or socially distanced spot to pitch camp.
This is for people that know how to camp in the backcountry -
Without a trash can, who don’t leave cigarette butts, respect the land and would rather not be sectioned off.
Flat areas are all over if you explore, and use your feet to brush aside rocks and twigs, to lay down a tent base, as we do every time we camp in the backcountry.
The geography of these mountains is just that, hills and mountains. The vista at the top of the property is gorgeous and easily camps 5 tents spaced out. The property does offer many other great camping areas, and I’m more than happy to point them out.
Yosemite is 30 minutes away, Don Pedro lake is 30 minutes, Cherry Lake is 30 minutes, Preston falls and Carlon falls are both 30 min away. Downtown Groveland Is 7 minutes away, and other historic towns are not too far.
Close to many swimming holes. Rainbow pools is 15 minutes away. 10 min from the local grocery store and other local shops. Base Camp is just off of highway 120. Sonora has a great farmers market on Sunday and is a beautiful 40 min drive away.

This was our first stay here and definitley won't be our last. Things we loved: plenty of space between RVs, neighbors were very respectful of the quiet hours, very close to the pines resort village and the lake (we rode our bikes), our toddler loved the playground, the pool area looked great, and there were some trails just a short walk away! In short, it was a perfect family-friendly camping retreat.

This was a secluded, beautiful spot not far from "downtown" Oakhurst, perfect for my overnight needs. The site was level, shaded and comfortable, the waterfall sounds lulled me to sleep. Host Hudson was super helpful when I needed to tarp my small box truck, loaning a stepladder and help in the rain! The full service bath adjacent to the main house was warm, clean and comfy.

Shandie is an amazing host! She offered us free firewood because the temperatures got so low at night. She’s very personable and keeps a very well maintained property.
This site was absolutely stunning. There are a handful of waterfalls right in the campsite. You can also explore the area and end up in the national forest if you go far enough.

We had a great time here. It was pretty quiet not alot of people. My kids found friends to play with pretty much every day! We did get to see a bear run through camp which was fun! We were a short drive from the sugar pine train ride and the ride to the park wasnt to bad either.

We had the most amazing stay at the Midway Lookout. This site is a little hilly for those that are looking to back straight into a spot, but we packed everything in. Also, theres 2 fire pits, but we only used the lower one, as we had a very large tent with us. The views from here are impressive, especially sunset and sunrise, and the sounds of the waterfall so peaceful. Shandie made sure to greet us when we arrived, and gave us a lot of advice on trails, sights, amenities, and made us feel very welcomed. Jesse also was a great host delivering firewood, giving us some history of the area and checking to be sure we were comfortable.
Overall this was exactly what we were hoping for for our 1st camping trip with 2 kiddos under 10. Very peaceful, little adventure, and lots of memories.
The nights do get very chilly, but even prior to our stay Shandie was very communicative and let us know some of what to expect, so we were well prepared. I can't say thank you enough to how amazing our hosts were and how well they take care of this amazing location.
We will definitely be back when the weather gets warmer so we can spend more time in the pools by the lower falls.

Barry’s land was wonderful. It was clean, we loved going on the hay ride to experience the cows, bull Napoleon and the many goats they have. Feeding them and able to spend time with the animals was great. My family and I had a wonderful time and make precious memories. We have already talked about returning.

This was a really lovely experience. Beautiful peaceful place to camp, great proximity to town for supplies and to Yosemite, and wonderful hosts. We stayed here with our three small children who had a blast playing in the creek and making memories around the campfire. I hope we’re lucky enough to come back someday!

I really don’t want to write this review because it is just going to make Cole Ranch even more popular! But how could I not. Barry and Chrissy work so hard- this place is clearly a labor of love! It is so relaxing - being right on the river is about as good as it gets! And everything you need is right there for the taking. Water toys? ✔️ Firewood? ✔️ ice? ✔️ Bathrooms are so clean and cheerful. Not perfect but it’s camping folks!
