Completely private 19 acres to explore while only being 10 min from downtown Los Gatos (FYI has great cell reception). Plenty of flat empty land to pitch tents. There is a compost toilet and an outdoor shower with cold water. There is plenty of room to explore, half of the property is pretty dense wilderness but the main half has hammocks, slack line, fire pit, bbq, tables, etc. *FYI due to the steep driveway (see pic) the property is only accessible by AWD or 4-wheel drive SUV or truck; cars, vans, or RVs will not be able to make it (if you are not sure please ask before booking).

1 night at Either Way Hideaway

This little cabin was great for a cozy way to spend time outside. Even though it rained our whole trip and we weren't able to go hiking as planned, we were able to enjoy sitting next to redwood trees and the creek next to the warm fire. The space is well-equipped, with a little kitchen including a fridge and coffee machine and bathroom with a large shower. Hopefully we'll be back to use the hot tub next time!

Great stay! The host provided clear and accurate info for accessing the property and using all the amenities. This is an excellent spot for families, swings, zip line, ropes, beautiful views, fire pits, BBQ, lounge chairs, and picnic tables. The place is spacious and peaceful. Just note that a 4x4 vehicle is definitely needed to get there. Would stay again!

Camp Jaron is a very quiet spot close to downtown Los Gatos. Pros: Hot shower, composting toilet, and mostly private (The neighbor's house has a direct line of sight on the main campsite area — further down the hill is more private) Neutral: Rough road to access property, 4x4/clearance required as described. Cons: Limited level ground for parking rig, I had to park directly under large branches which I try to avoid whenever possible, would recommend packing leveling blocks. Limited level & cleared space for tents — Expect overgrowth / leaves / mulch / poison oak.

Weekend Trip to Redwood Meadows

Lovely wooded spot in close proximity to lots of hiking trails, a year round creek for exploring, wine tasting, and Saratoga Village. Good spot for camping light. Hwy 9 curves around the camping portion of the property so expect vehicle noise. It didn't prevent us from enjoying the place and at night there is hardly any traffic so sleeping was fine. There is a hose near the camp area that makes for good hand washing and outdoor showers. Shannon was truly the best host ever and really enhanced our stay with her generosity. Very thankful for her.

Spot is located only a mile from a great surf spot, clean facilities, nice hot shower, and management is extremely kind. They even came out and moved us to a spot that gave us more room and was nicer. We will stay here again next time we are in Santa Cruz.

Great location and easy to find. Used to live in Santa Cruz and passed by where this is now many times. Convenient to get pretty much anywhere in the area for food, entertainment, surfing, etc.. Smaller spaces but several larger rVs parked just fine. I had a 16.5’ campervan and plenty of room. Two bathroom stalls and a private nice hot shower available as well! Full hook ups, which were convenient as I was in an electric vehicle! There were some other open spots which I would’ve preferred to the one that they put me in – but it was no big deal and I’m sure if I asked when I got there they would have. One of those hidden gem places to stay in Santa Cruz other than the always booked state parks! Pet friendly too! We’ll be back again!

We loved our stay here! Our highlight - this place is just a quick walk away from the beach!!! We had some lovely walks along the coastline during our stay that were just magical. It's also close to groceries & the main areas of town! The campground is clean, well kept, has sweet & friendly hosts. The bathrooms were great, showers are hot and it was well kept. There is a cute little hangout spot around the back that has a gas fire pit which is a nice addition. Overall a 10/10 stay if you're looking for a camper/van/rv spot on the coastline!

The location is terrific, very close to the beach. The spaces are pretty snug, and the sewer connection is close to the front of the back-in space, so we had to pull our trailer up close to the front for the hose to reach. Not a lot of parking spaces for our truck, but it worked out fine. It backs up to a big natural area and is quiet.

Weekend Trip to Camp Carmel Valley - Glamping

Wow! What a location. The tent itself was so beautiful and well-cared for- adjustable window ventilation, wood floors, lockable door and personal pit. Not to mention the (twin) beds were as comfortable as any hotel bed I’ve slept on. I requested the linen bed set and it was also of great quality- inclusive of 2 blankets, sheeting and a pillow. I was very comfortable during our stay but imagine colder months would require a heavier blanket and/or very warm pajamas. The bathroom was immaculately cleaned and maintained too. Housekeepers do a 10/10 job here. The shower and kitchen were both stocked with soap / shampoo etc too. I couldn’t figure out how to get hot water in the shower but our trio was quick enough that we didn’t bother to ask…. The host went above and beyond to make up our beds ahead of our stay, ship back forgotten items and text back at lightening speeds. We clearly appreciated the hospitality and will be sharing with all of our friends! Looking forward to using the grill and games with a big group next time. Thank you!
